Christopher DelPrete Thanks for the compliments. However, there is no way this will ever be a kit......too much work. I'll be lucky to get this one driving!
Beginning at the start of next year I intend to purchase a Miata shell/roller to use for my V8 Civic project. Gonna be killer, carb V8, bags, Lunati cam, wide wheels, etc. I'm stoked.
so you moved the location of the rack and pinion forward and changed the steering knuckles ? i noticed the front brake caliper is faced towards the back, and normally they're faced towards the front.
I am very curious as to how this is coming along. Please, keep us in updated if you are still doing this mod. You are the only video on youtube about a v8 hhr. And, yes, those subframes would sell like CRAZY.
giskard80 The build is progressing well, millions of details to contend with. The most up to date info can be found at the "Chevy HHR Forum.net" website. Look up HHR V8 Build in the "General" category.
Your right about it not being a kit. But you would still making some money making and selling these subframes to other rodders some time. That want to do the same thing as you did?
No I’m not set up for that, but it’s pretty simple to do. Actually my sub frame has changed a bit since these photos were taken. The rear area around the gas tank an rear axle has changed to accommodate an aluminum fuel cell and the car now is using a 9” rear axle with 4 link suspension.
@@clifflasater6981 I seen your car in another video of it cranked and running, it looks and sounds so nice. I like the fact you did your work custom instead of installing the body on a trailblazer or s10 chassis, etc...
This is one tremendous build by a very skilled and patient man!!! My hat is off to you Sir!!!! Well done indeed!!!
That is excellent work! Very carefully planned and brilliantly executed! A true work of art sir!!
That's a shit ton of work!! Awesome!! Hats off to you. Great job, oh and start selling those sub frames... I'd buy one

@@clifflasater6981 would you give the measurements to someone, so half the guess work is done?
Absolutley beautiful work.

LEMME SEE IT DRIVING! god i wish i could do this to mine.
Cliff do you have more videos of the HHR conversion?

Yes the spindles were swapped side for side. The Camaro rack clears the oil pan.

GOOD Job! Very Nice...
Are you making frames for the rest of us if so how much
I applaud you and your team sir do think doing this to a 06 impala ss 5.3ls would be easier
Masterful
I am ready to do the same thing to my HHR Panel.
what did this cost to do?
My good friend put his HHR on a S10 frame.
you have a blue print on that sub frame?
when you said you used a 2000 camaro ls1 donor car i was mad... then when i saw it i understood.
Very nice but you could had also put in a 5.3 V8 from a Police Chevy Impala and drivetrain
This is amazing!!! You could make some money off selling fabbed kits to order!
I’d buy it

How they should have came from gm or at least rwd with a s10 chassis
I'm not not afraid hard work and solving problems. Start selling those subframes and they will sell.
Could you sell me a sub frame?
No I’m not set up for that, but it’s pretty simple to do. Actually my sub frame has changed a bit since these photos were taken. The rear area around the gas tank an rear axle has changed to accommodate an aluminum fuel cell and the car now is using a 9” rear axle with 4 link suspension.

i want to do this with a Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS
My HHR Panel deserves that treatment, SSDI won't cover the cost unfortunately.
Yeah, it’s gotten a bit pricey building this. I quit counting a long time ago.
Sad thing it is still a HHR and not worth any more unless one is a collector. Ask how much I have lost with 4WDs
