    Looks really good! Reminds me of how they make the Beijing Beef at Panda Express. I do have one suggestion - instead of adding the whole egg, only add the egg white. The yolk makes flour more moist and it won't come out as crispy if it weren't in there!

    MaashaAllah delicious, not sure about frying the meat twice.

    • @IlhanA
      @IlhanA  4 года назад +1

      Hey thank you sis 💕 So double frying it makes it crispier as when you take it out the oil, you allow the outside layer to settle. If you don’t want to double fry it, just leave it in longer to get the dark brown colour but it won’t be as crispy. But which ever way you choose to do it, they are in the oil the same amount of time. xx

    • @IlhanA
      @IlhanA  4 года назад

      It works either way. Sometimes I put it back into the oil after I fry the meat their first go and sometimes I go off to make the sauce and then fry it again x

    Can you use regular soy sauce if you don’t have dark soy sauce

    • @IlhanA
      @IlhanA  4 года назад +1

      Yes you can although it’s not ideal as the dark soy sauce is thick and sweet which you need for the dish. But If you do just add a little extra honey as it’s sweeter than normal soy which is salted x

    • @IlhanA
      @IlhanA  4 года назад

      Yes you can, but because chicken can get extremely dry but can also get super crispy very quickly, I would fry only once but longer until you get a dark golden brown colour. I’d stay around 5-6mins. I hope that helps x

    • @IlhanA

    Why would it need to fry it first until light brown and fry it again?

    • @IlhanA
      @IlhanA  3 года назад +3

      Hey so this method helps the coating stay crispy. The frying time is the exact same had we just left it cook longer the first round but taking it out and leaving it to cool down and return to cook gives you a crispy coating that stays crispy even with the sauce. Hope that explains x
