    Hi everyone! Here's an important tidbit of information for those who may not be able to get the shortcut working - make sure the "Share iPhone Analytics" setting is on in the settings app. If it is off, you will have to wait 24 hours for your iPhone to generate the file needed in order for the shortcut to work! I hope this clears up some confusion. 😃

    As mentioned, “Apple says to charge your battery whenever you want.” You spend $1,000 on an iPhone, so use it how ever you’d like. I hope most of you have AppleCare which allows you to replace the battery when it degrades. Have fun with your phone and don’t nit pick about the battery health. When my 14 pro battery drops to 79% one day, I’ll just get a brand new battery. Don’t stress about it folks 😊

      In September I replaced my four year old iPhone XS. I charged it whenever (every night and sometimes in the car) both wired and wireless. When I passed it down to a family member the battery health was at 86% with 845 charge cycles. That's much better than the 1% drop per 25 cycles mentioned in the video.

      No need to get AppleCare. By the time your battery degrades enough it will be a couple years earliest. Pay for a battery replacement then and you still come out ahead of paying multiple years for AppleCare

    What matters MOST more than anything else are the temperature CONDITIONS you choose to leave your battery at and operate. Very hot temperatures especially out in the sun in summer day or a lot usage in hot environments will deteriorate the chemical composition and battery life quick. I once forgot my phone for several hours on top of my car in the blazing sun and battery health went down 5 percent as soon as I restarted the phone. Phone was very hot to touch and I shut it off and started it when it cooled down.

    Only thing I disagreed with in this entire video was the closing apps part. This is something I was very very picky about when I was younger but now I’ve realized that all it does is drain battery. Only close apps you know you won’t be opening again for a while. Apps that you use every minute should stay open so it takes less power to fully load it from storage rather than ram. Although I can agree everything is nice and smooth with less apps open in the background.

    The one tip you give that doesn’t help me in the least is the one about letting the phone adjust the brightness for me. I usually keep my brightness fairly low, lower than probably most people. (There is maybe an 1/8” of the blue showing). The brightness aspect of my phone drives me crazy with or without this aspect turned on. It is always dark when I want/need it brighter and brighter when I want/need it to be darker. Got to where it is just easier for me to just leave it dimmed and then add the brightness I want manually, if I need it brighter. Fortunately, the one area that I found it to be the worse..being outside and needing it to be brighter, but screen is so dark, I can hardly even see the keypad to change it, discovered that Siri can turn it up for you, if need be. Most of your other tips are great though!

I was constantly having to adjust it back to where I wanted it, many times a day. It was driving me crazy. Found that when I just turned this feature off and kept it dimmed like I like it, I now only have to manually adjust it only once in a while.

    On my iPhone 13 Mini (Unboxed - 28 June 2022) my MaximumFCC was new at 2480 mAH (instead of the rated 2406 mAH), my NominalChargeCapacity is now 2409 mAH, after 123 Charge Cycles. So my loss is actually 2.86% vs the 4.92% for 1% for every 25 Cycles. So that's 42% better than normal. So I believe what I do works. Will have to re-calibrate to see if its actually even better than that after calibration.

    • @Alex-hv3ir
      @Alex-hv3ir Год назад +7

      Yeah I agree with you but I’m going to give my experience since I’ve tried both methods for years:
      If you have normal apps, things 90% of Apple users have on their iPhone, it probably doesn’t matter if you close or not the apps. If you have “special” apps or features, like a vpn which blocks ads, background automation, unusual apps that drain your battery a lot, then yes, it matters.
      I’ll give you my personal experience: I have an ad-blocking VPN (2 actually) and some apps like YT or some Safari websites, force (or used to force) ads on your device, meaning that it makes your device warm and work hard just to block ads.
      In short:if you have VPN that blocks ads, some apps drain your battery because of that.
      RUclips and Safari in particular in my experience.
      I just close those 2 apps when I remember to because otherwise I have my battery discharge like 30% in a night.
      Your experience may vary tho.

      Agreed with VPN and those similar apps that are actually do something when On ,but for the rest of them is better to keep them in background as it will use more energy to open,over night my phone with 100 apps in background doesn’t take more than 1%,I never switch them off but sleep mode is automatically on and the Low power mode activates.

    Love your channel, BUT I listen with headphones on while multi-tasking. The background MUZAK is so very distracting. Do you guys rewatch/listen to your own videos? I can understand playing music at the intro and finales, but constant music throughout the whole thing? If I want music, I'll go to Spotify. It just seems like if what you're trying to teach is great, why does it need all the annoying background jazz?!

    Had a battery case on my iPhone 10 for two years. The battery pack was on all the time and it was always charging the iPhone battery and kept it at 100% charge 24/7. Only thing I was charging at night was the battery pack. After two years the iPhone battery health was at 100%. I think apple caught up on that and that’s why they don’t make battery pack cases anymore.

    In your video you mention to turn off optimised battery charging if you don’t have significant location switched on (which I don’t) and if you have system customisation switched off (which I do) but by turning off optimised battery charging will this not deplete the battery faster? When I disable this feature I get the message ‘optimised battery charging, helps reduce battery ageing’ and then I have the option to switch off completely or until tomorrow. Is it wise to switch this off??

    • @LuigiCerban
      @LuigiCerban Год назад

      I realised if you turn that setting off, the battery will not overheat when you charge it.

    I seen many saying you should keep it between 40 - 80% - I always thought that can't be true cause that gives us just 40% of battery. But are you saying it's okay to drain it down to 0% ? I usually charger it before it reaches 25%. Sometimes I charge it to like 94% or 98% and other times when I have to be away all day from home I charge it to 100%.

    • @nkordo2551
      @nkordo2551 Год назад

      you can't drain phone battery to zero as the zero it shows is when the phone turns off to protect its inner components. the real charge of the battery is then 15...20% depending of the power converter capabilities of that specific phone.
