The 70th Russian Women's Championship is a 12-player round-robin tournament taking place from 5-16 December 2020 in the Central Chess Club in Moscow, Russia.

Funny thing is Alina was less than a minute on her clock when she decided to sacrifice her queen. Quite a decision. Even though she had calculated most of things beforehand, she still could not be 100% sure she calculated all outcomes. Or rather, she was 100% confident being 30 seconds on the clock, and that gives her extra credit.
It's easy to see white has a brutal attack. But yeah it's not easy to see that it's sacrifice-the-queen brutal.
Quite honestly that final few moves were astonishingly brilliant, loved it.

I had an interesting idea. Get two beginners or intermediate players to play together and analyze the mistakes they make as they go. It can be a fun mini series if you ever want different content. As much as I enjoy the complex games the theory often escapes me since I haven’t reached that level yet. I often see good games analyzed but not bad ones.

One of the best moments in the video is when Agad shows the many CHECKMATES possible.. It's very challenging to finish a game when you can feel you have 'something' in the position but can also blunder.. I've gained some experience looking for CHECKMATES..

As a noob with Kings Indian main this makes me happy
e3 makes it weird, the bishop is terrible, that's why the most often played move is e4 to give the bishop the space to develop, and e4 after Nc3 is what you will probably face on intermidate level while playing King's Indian as black.

12:24 Knight to h3 with a check could work, Knight capture Knight then Queen capture Knight, next all black has to do is to move the Bishop to g5 and the Queen either to h1 and mate, if Bishop to c8 was played the rook could capture easily. The Bishop at g2 is defended by the pawn f3 if the rook at a2 considered attacking. If I'm not missing anything this seems more clear mate. If not please share where I blunded
In conclusion: don't save for a rocket launcher when a grizzly's slowly walking toward your house. by the time you nearly have the amazing weapon, it won't matter because half your house is gone and the grizzly is in your face

The sound from his speakers while he's talking is fine, but once he moves, the software from Lichess has a sound effect, and THAT comes through his speakers, so people with really good headphones hear it twice.

This is such an interesting game to me. I'm a novice chess player, but this game is so different than any game game I've seen. Pretty crazy. I've never seen this kind of opening, middle or end game before. Thanks for sharing and explaining everything on this Agadmator!

Thanks for that game...like you said they were just ignoring each other the whole game so that left all pieces on the board until very late in the game...it is rare to see games anymore where there is little exchanging of pieces but when you do it usually makes for a beautiful mate.

If you really think that 10. Bb2 is a novelty there is something seriously wrong with your database. It is actually the most common move in that position and over 60 years old (with the main line continuing 12. a5 rather than Qb3). In fact the position even after 13. Rfc1 was on the board earlier this year in a Danish tournament (2300 vs 2100) with 13...Ng5 being played. In any case, almost all of the games in this line are fairly crazy with amazingly few draws.

I had to pop in to Holiday Inn yesterday afternoon. I was a little surprised that they were not closed, so that was a relief. While I was waiting to catch a moment with the staff on reception, there were two guys in the seating area arguing about who was the better player - Kasparov or Fischer - while at the same time suggesting that *they* wouldn’t have lost to Deep Blue.
That’s a problem at this time of year. Chess nuts boasting in an open foyer.

Reminds me a lot of the Game Kasparov vs Arbakov in Paris 1994.
Very similar variation of the Kings Indian.
This was a great examples of how a game would end when humans play it. However, after the Knight sacrifice (8:54) it was probably lost for black if you continued with engine play. The attack on the white king is not precise enough to allow for a win in the long run (I think). I played this type of attacks for over half a year now (about 1000 games) against engines and they always find a way out (even when playing against themselves).

14:57 you forgot the one other thing white can try: a8 Q, hoping to capture the checking rook on h8 after the knight moves for discovered check. Unfortunately, that doesn’t work either, since black can just go Bg1 mate 🤣
There is something beautiful in kingside vs queenside matches, its not attack and defence like most games its attack and attack where the first to blink often loses. Alisa started to drop momentum from her attack and gave ground to alina's attack, and because of this she lost. If she had commited to her a pawn push earlier she would of stormed through and caused all the problems for black.
Also these games often favour the kingside attacker just because of whats at jepordy. If white brakes through she wins a queen. If black breaks through she wins a game.
Reminds me of Gligoric in Mar del Plata... beautiful attack!
