    as someone just getting into photography, i really like these long form pov videos. it gives more of a window into how you actually find and compose shots, which is a real struggle for me in my (mostly) boring surroundings

    • @kevnieves
      @kevnieves 2 года назад +22

      Keep on looking for unique frames in you “boring” surroundings, that will make you a better photographer than most who shoot in easy places

    Just commenting to cast a vote for more organic POV videos like this one. I enjoy seeing photographers working a scene or what catches their attention (or not) as they walk through an area.

    I've lived in Istanbul all my life, I also am interested in photography and have been watching your videos for a while now. Hearing that you would be in Istanbul for a couple of weeks was really exciting to hear. It was almost like seeing your perspective and vision applied into my everyday life which was super interesting. Its crazy that you were photographing my everyday commute paths and daily hangout spots. Thank you for the experience and have fun back home!

    The longer pov video was a really nice way to relax at the end of a long week. Enjoy hearing your narration and thought process in seeing the light and constructing your compositions. I felt like I was right in Instanbul. Keep up the exploring and great work…it is inspiring me down my street photography journey.

    Love the POV. Awesome city. I really like to see how other photographers see their surroundings and discover shots for them to be interesting enough to take. Especially your style of shooting is very interesting to me. Keep doing these POV style photo walks! Funnily there where some moments where I said (out loud) "Dude, there was a good shot right there!" ;-)
    BTW must've been really early in the day when you went out. Stil empty city, not many peeps around.

    Faizal, I just got into photography and would like to say that you're one of the main reasons why I went ahead and decided tp push with this new hobby. I'd like to take random shots and unscripted photos of streetlife. But I was wondering if this is a legal thing to do? I'd really love to learn more about the raw and fun experiences of street photography. But I'm also weary on how some of my "subjects" would react upon hearing some shutter sounds, or seeing them getting photographed. Did you experience some confrontations re: this?
    Lasy, thank you so much. I really enjoy this longer pov.

    Yeah, by already having a pointed camera looks suspicious as well as if we keep still in one place. It helps if we leave, walk around, go back and see if someone will pass by. You already do a great job by using one hand to photograph! People aren't alarmed as much by doing that, looks like a phone to them 😄

    Do you ever feel limited by that 53mm equiv lens? Obviously works well snapping photos of people, but Istanbul itself barely feels like a character / subject of this photo walk. These images could be taken almost anywhere (even if nicely executed). I understand this is a deliberate choice of yours, but just curious if you’d use the same all-day 50mm focal length if you intended to include more Istanbul sites and scenery, or do you think you could still make it all work without a 35mm or wider equiv?
