No one could teach me NODES concept like you. So easy. I tried to learn it before, but they teach it so complicated, and you made this so easy, and I use your teaching to other software which use Nodes and, success for me and you as a great teacher. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
Great teaching method, honestly the first time anyone has in the same lesson explained how they were going to teach, but also stuck to the method (in my own experience). I'm very excited to learn more here!
PS - that chicken-toast image is CEMENTED in my brain forever!!!!! THANKS Casey you made geniuses of us all in a extremely fun way!!!! (The only way to learn - PLUS have a bowl of popcorn to keep your hands busy while you are not allowed to work but must watch!!! )
Although that was easy as hell for anyone who knows at least the basics of fusion, the whole method is probably one of the most practical methods you can get to learn new stuff :P
what did you use to record this? That makes the x's and circles stuff, and changes your mouse? that's so useful! I used to do gaming tutorials and that would have helped a lot !
I'm still learning the basics of Davinci, so I'm not quite ready for Fusion, but thankfully I have plenty of experience with Mari (3D texturing program) and its node graph, so nodes aren't new or scary to me. I look forward to learning Fusion with your course, Casey! Not ready yet. But I'll definitely be going straight for your Zero to Hero Fusion program.
Hey Casey! I’mma big fan, and I think your videos are very awesome and well detailed! I’m trying to recreate a vortex or a wormhole like portal thing-y from an old favorite cartoon of mine.. what do you suggest I do for effects go on blender (for more detail) or can davinci make a wormhole as well? Again you’re amazing at what you do! and the ground control videos have been very helpful.
Great tutorial @CaseyFaris, but my colour management changes did not result in the same result as yours. It did nothing to the video. Do you have any suggestions on a fix?
I've learned a lot from you but I can't find info on reacting to a video you have onscreen & being able to start it & stop it & rewind it while I'm reacting.

The part I struggle with is the "And your footage should look like this"-part. I entered all the settings as shown, but my video still looks like log. But, when re-watching I see that your video does not look like log before you go into the project settings, and the look does not change when you hit apply? I dunno if its some setting I have that is messing it up or if something is missing. Any tips?
Try changing your input color to what you shot in camera. For example Sony S-Log 3 / Sony S-Gamut3.Cine etc. then on your output change it to whatever your monitor is calibrated to (most of the time factory is rec709 Gamma 2.2) Right now your (based on Casey’s settings) telling DaVinci that you shot the footage in rec709 (scene) meaning that DaVinci should pick up on what gamma the camera used and it’s “scene” referred gamma. If you tell DaVinci that you shot in cannon log, Sony log, etc etc then it will be able to recognize and decode it properly. 🤙🏻 Comment back if it doesn’t work.

@@XVIIsionsProductions I was using the media Faris supplied to test with so I just did the steps he showed. After your comment I went back and saw that he had put BMDFilm_Gen5 as the folder name though, so did a color space transform with that in Davinci and got similar look to what he has in the video :) That step is not shown in the video though so it had me confused about the colors cause I'm not used to log. But ye, adding the CST did the trick.
@@dannyau8958 Hi, right click on imported movie in the media tab, then go to "Input Color Space" and change it to DaVinci Intermidiate. Worked for me 😀
This comment is gonna be unrelated to the video, but I was wondering how I can get the cut page on my resolve. I updated to the latest version for resolve 18 and 19 but I cannot find it. I am using the free version so I'm wondering if it's a paid only feature.
Hey Casey I have one issue in da Vinci resolve. Whenever I used to select a media after pressing Ctrl+I in media page and then I try to drag and drop it but it becomes 🚫 sign and it cant be imported . so then I have to import every files individually . tell me how to solve this issue . BRO CAN YOU GIVE A FREE COURS IN YOUR CHANEL ABOUT ALL NODES IN FUSION BECOUS IT SO SO HARD AND MAYBE IT IMPOSIBLE TO FIND A VIDEO LIKE THIS IN RUclips
hi , can you please make a tutorial of masked things and make them move in different paths like circle or randomly , for example like the oreo floating in this video : ruclips.net/user/shorts7PZnoUzL8BQ can't find anywhere when someone teaching this , also I don't want to go back to 'After Effects' for this
I'm a beginner in DR but maybe you can use the magic mask feature in DR, though I think it's only in the studio version. Like you choose the oreo cookie via magic mask and it will track the object (oreo) from start to finish so you can remove the background of a moving (maybe even rotating object) it's sort of like automated rotoscoping.
I'm a VFX student, I've been editing for so long and just found out I can scale a mask??!! This is gonna save me soo much time thank you!!!
Great video, Casey! You are such an excellent teacher. Thank you, sir!🙏🏼

Please can you make a video on how to use 3d camera with multiple footage and each footage have effect like mask ?
