I've been adding art to my planners since middle school around 2001. My teachers used to say that maybe I could do that for a living, and I was like nah I'm too shy to show my work in public and who would pay to see my stuff. I still feel the same way, but I love that there are so many creative people that like to do so now a days. I love watching the creative process. Throughout the years I lost touch with drawing and started doing more writing as a hobby, but you did a coffee shop spread a couple of years ago that introduced me to bullet journaling, and it inspired me to go back. Surprisingly, it's like bullet journaling ignited my need to create art again. I had forgotten how much joy drawing brought me, and how calming it is. It really helps ground me during the ever changing daily demands and responsibilities of life. I'm glad it's more popular now because there are so many new supplies I've become aware of. I'm mostly using my bullet journal for Bible reading and sketching these days. I also wanted to mention that I love your style in this video. The red makes your hair stand out.
I love that this taps into good mental health. I love what you said about getting things out of your head and onto the page- that is restorative! Thanks for sharing so many great ideas and tips. I love your work!
I love journaling because it helps me keep organized and its a good way for me to track what I need to get done each week. I've been struggling with some memory issues, and its also been a helpful way to remember moments and memories I've made each day. I used to be very strict about what I put in my journal, but now I've been keeping movie ticket stubs, photos, restaurant cards and such in. It makes me so happy to look back at a fully filled notebook and go over the memories, it is like a capsule into what I was thinking, feeling, and dealing with at certain months of my life.
I've been journaling for years, but it wasn't until I started watching your videos that I started to add creativity and art into my journals. Making time for creativity has been so soothing to my soul, and it wasn't something that I had made space for in my life prior to this❤
I started bullet journaling 5 years ago, because of your beautiful videos and I use it to doodle, set goals, set up my focus for the month and I write a monthly meditation piece too. I use various mediums, this year I did paper crafting and doodles for my monthly layout. Thank you for sharing your vulnerability and genuine insight about mental health, your videos have brought such joy.
bullet journal has always been about mental health for me. I always get a thicker bujo to dedicate the first half to planning and the second half to journaling --like a mini diary that I always carry around. So happy you decided to do this "mental journaling"; pretty sure you're gonna love it.
Journaling is so relaxing to me. Having a spot to privately write anything I am thinking is so good for my mental health. The creative outlet alone does wonders. I love that taking care of mental health is a conversation we are having! You are such an inspiration! I love to watch you draw and create. It is so calming and fun. Thank you for bringing so much joy to so many of us! :)
I truly love this new theme. I really don’t need a bullet journal for a daily schedule. I am retired. I have always wanted to keep a mental health/bible study journal but never knew how to start. I am excited about moving forward with you through this new adventure. Thank you dear and God Bless. ❤
Hi!!!! This is going to be my very first bullet journal! I asked my significant other for a mindfulness style journal for Christmas and got my first beautiful bullet journal! I want it to focus on mindfulness and mental health while also keeping the bullet journal style! Also, "Hello from a fellow Canadian!"❤ And thanks for much for this video!
I love bullet journaling for a couple of reasons. I like to keep track of my appointments and other schedules but mostly I like being creative and creating a little piece of art on each page. It makes me feel accomplished as well as artistic. My bullet journal makes me feel calm.
Creating my bullet journal is such a mental health thing that I started making one for my mother and my best friend every year as gifts. I have areas in my journal that I call my rolling log that’s for messy brain dumps and then areas that are for pretty, calming graphics. One of the first years I did that I followed your monthly flower series and had the flower of the month incorporate in my monthly calendar layout. It was fun. Thank you for being part of my bullet journal for years.
I love bullet Journaling because it helps organize my thoughts so I don't forget things that are important to me even if they aren't important to others. It helps me be more intentional about living the life I want to live. It's a judgment-free space! And I keep track of the books I read and am excited to read each month! Then it's easy to share my favorite recommendations with others. 📖📚
I have journaled off and on through out my life. I like the idea of using illustrations in a journal it adds an element of fun along with whimsy. Also using illustrations in a journal takes off the pressure of what do I write or if I don't feel like writing, doodling is just relaxing to me. I have several health issues alone with anxiety and PTSD, I find doodling soothing to my soul. Thank you Shayda for such wonderful content over the years. I enjoy your videos find them relaxing to paint or just listen to. Wishing you and your family a Very Merry Christmas.🎄
Bullet journaling allows me to plan and decorate and and vary what I set up depending on my needs. It really does keep every aspect of my personality happy.
i started bullet journaling in the middle of the pandemic and it has really been a life saver. I am a very creative person and i love to make physical things. bullet journaling allows me to do that without too much pressure. if i don't like my spread, i flip the page! I love the way your set up turned out!
I've been keeping a few journals and my mental health journal is the one that's made a huge difference in my life, I'm able to see patterns and such. I love journaling in every way. It's great for capturing things, yes of course, and it's also my therapy and journaling changed my life. I have to thank you for the opportunity! And for your videos!
Journaling for me is so good to dump all the “stuff” out of my brain. It helps me feel lighter. It also helps me to solidify things that I observe and learn on life’s journey.
Bullet journaling helps me stay on track with my tasks, but also provides a good excuse for a creative break each week. I get to try to draw things that I like and to stretch myself to try drawing things I didn’t think I could. It also helps that I don’t criticize the result, I just accept it for what it is, and this helps me overall to accept my flaws and not be overly critical of myself in life.
I have been drawing for a few minutes every night, because of your encouragement, Shayda! I started during COVID and have kept it up because it helps with my mental health! Your work and your voice have been my companion for years now!
Journaling is sooo therapeutic, you are inspiring. Thank you for all of the ideas, chats and advice. Enjoy Christmas and a family time. See you in 2025.
I started journaling after months of watching your monthly bujo videos. They always looked so fun and so beautiful, but I was just positive that I could never make something so pretty. I finally got up the nerve to try, and I've been hooked ever since. My bullet journal is my brain-- calendar, to-do list, habit tracker, weekly menu, etc. It helps keep me focused!
I teach an art class for adults with disabilities and I know art is a great therapy for people… creating something from a blank canvas is very fulfilling or I could purchase your drawings for them to mindfully colour in. Thanks for sharing your talent and ideas ❤
I started journaling a few months ago when I watched one of your videos . I have one son who is autistic and every day we have new experiences and also challenges. My planner/journal is a place where I can truly pour all my emotions into and keep track of appointments etc. I love your black and white drawings and look forward to adding them into my journal…Thank You Shayda🥰
You inspired me to Bullet journal after I had my first daughter and was in the pits of Post partum depression. It brought me so much joy in a hard time❤ I’m due with my second February 2nd and a bit fearful of PPD again, so I love that your theme this year includes mental health. Thank you for being you. I made your cute Christmas cards this year and everyone loved them too!
🎄🕯️✨😍👍 This layout is so beautiful!! 👏👏👏 I totally love it, Shayda! (And BTW, you look lovely in Christmassy red! ❤👌😘) Thank you so much for all the joy your videos give us, and all the beauty they bring to our journals and sketchbooks! 🙏😊 I wish you very Happy Holidays with your loved ones, and a wonderful New Year, for you and all the friends of your channel! 🤗🥰😘
I love the creativity of bullet journaling. Being able to switch things up however you want each time you design a new spread. Also a mental health journal is something new to me but I really think I will be incorporating it into my system!
I'm new to journaling and doing this for my mental health. I've been really struggling with depression but getting through the other side. Love your journals, really inspired me. ❤
Definitely need a 2025 mental health journal. 2024 has been a terrible year for me. Hope I can use it to document my change and transformation in 2025. Merry X'mas to you and all!
Ever since I went through postpartum depression, I have been paying much more attention to my menta health. Journaling was something suggested by my therapist and something I have been doing since.
Love all your videos always and this was no exception. I love bujo-ing bc I’ve never found a planner that really always had everything in it that I need, and when I’d find one I like in a season, I’d be in another season and realize it didn’t work for me then. So I love being able to customize my own planner while also using it as a creative outlet which helps my mental health too!!
WOW - what pours out of your lips and your fingertips is absolutely amazing. This journal is new to me and I really appreciate you calling it "mindful" - wonderful results. Thank you!
I've been watching your videos for years and the idea of using bujo to track mental health really speaks to me, as I need a tracker for my physical and mental health with an autoimmune disease. Making art and writing on a beautiful setup will surely better my life in days of intense pain☺, so THANK YOU!!🥰
Art has not only kept me sane, but also I like to see I practice things that overwhelm me in real life… like ‘mistakes’ - which, through art I have learned are actually opportunities for growth… being kind to myself too… art and mental wellness is my go to 🙏🏻
I keep my journal as an ‘external memory’ 😊. Also would like to say that I love to watch your videos as a sort of ‘me time’. Keep up the good work! Happy Holidays 🎄!
I bullet journal to keep track of my OCD and emetaphobia, for the good days and the days I'm triggered by things. Seeing the good and bad days really help when I see my therapist. Not using whole sentences, but dot points really help because I don't feel compelled to make coherent structured paragraphs. The art component part of it helps quiet my brain because I have a space to draw something that represents each day for me.
Such a great idea! I really want to commit to this bullet journal for mental health idea since it will help me break down the noise into something that brings me joy: making art! Thank you for your channel and helping us making art approachable to all. 😊❤
I'm new to journaling, but have a daily art practice, so am trying to marry the two. I love that this year's theme incorporates mental health into the mix! Brava, Shayna. That's a great addition!
My BuJo has been a way to incorporate creating in a useful way that makes me feel I’m not taking time away from my family or the things I have to do. It is a security blanket I pack and take with me all the places I go for anytime I feel bored, or anxious. A place I can keep myself accountable.
Hi, I’m writing on my mom's account. Journaling has been a passion of mine since I was 8 years old, and now at 13, it continues to be my go-to activity for relaxation. The process of journaling not only helps me stay organized but also brings lots of joy. One of my favorite things to do is to create floral designs along with you. These designs help me with my planning and organizing an they have transformed my artistic ability. Thank you for being a source of inspiration on this journey!
I just learned to do modern calligraphy & am looking so forward to doing this journal! I pray it helps my mental health. Looking forward to an awesome 2025. As always, love your videos! ❤
I love the black and white or monochrome. I have an Archer and Olive journal with navy pages and I love drawing with all white in that one😊 I also love your drawing videos. Thanks so much for a great 2024.
Frees up my thought process! I've been journaling for 30 odd years and it's always been a way for me to, not only say things I cannot tell anyone and get them off my chest, but to also preserve precious memories. I've been doing a separate journal for my kids since they were born in hopes of passing down this healthy habit. 📖✒️
Thanks for all the great content on your site, along with your laidback vibe. Journaling, doodling, art for the fun of it: all very therapeutic in this chaotic world!
|| Double line love!!! || I love this 2025 theme for you, Shayda! I've always long-form journaled, but started bullet journalling when I found your channel. It has truly become a pillar in my mental health, I love it. My safest space. I couldn't do without it. I think my favourites are my gratitude logs. LOVE the return of some classic Shayda black and white bujo illustrations, and love that your 2025 is focused on your mental health 💛 Warmest winter wishes, Shayda!
I use my journal much like you to create, get messy, put down my thoughts and feelings. Sometimes I write over what I've written or gesso over but it helps to write down how I feel especially knowing that no one else will read it.
I'm so excited you are going back to your black and white flowers! I find the black and white so stylish and striking, I have missed it over the last couple of years as I don't really see anyone else doing black and white which makes it so unique. I can't wait to see some new black and white spreads. Have a lovely Christmas! :-)
This is such a fantastic video Shayda, and an important topic. For me personally, I struggle with time management and fluctuating motivation, and this effects my mental health if i don't keep on top of it. Having a dedicated area for logging and journaling things for mental wellbeing would be so beneficial. I'd love to win this gorgeous set. Happy holidays to you and your family. I look forward to seeing what 2025 brings us all.
I love your channel, you taught me to draw flowers❤ I’ve been watching you for years and enjoyed every minute. Thank you for your content. Merry Christmas and a happy new year!
Journaling, art and therapy has help me navigate so much this past year. I’ve been through some dark days, but I’m so very glad to be able to reconnect with my artistic side. I’m so thankful I found your account . It has helped me so much in my journey!
I was very happy to see this video you made. I learned about bujos only a couple of months ago in the 2024 Holi-day Workshop segment lead by Bonnie Kuhl. At that time, I planned to make a bujo like I'm working on now but I ended up making it into a gift of a holiday planner for a friend with a November birthday. (She loved it by the way!) When I found your video yesterday, I knew I would go back to my first idea of creating a journal for the new year. I plan for it to be a way of keeping me on track as far as improving my health, my financial status, spiritual growth, my social connections, stretching my creative muscles, and better, more consistent pet and home care. Most folks would call this goal-setting or New Year's resolutions but those terms have never worked for me. I feel like putting those labels on anything I might try would doom it to failure. Although it's probably just a trick of semantics that I play on myself, I'm calling my bujo simply "Grow". So far I've done a cover page and a calendar page. Next I'm going to add sections for health and wellness, financial improvement, social connections, creative expression, home and pet care where I'll record ideas and plans for growth in each area. As the year progresses, I hope to add my personal growth in each area. Making this into a fun and creative activity I believe will help me go further towards living my best and most authentic life. It will be a great deal more fun than New Year's resolutions have been!
Quite honestly, you were the first person I ever heard say bujo, I had to google what it was! I’m still sorting through all the options of what to journal and how to bedazzle it. Yours are quite lovely
I have one journal that I write all my thoughts in, and just like you said, it releases them from my mind. I also have a prayer journal that I use to doodle and write Bible verses. Both are so therapeutic.
I have watched you for years. Saying I'm going to do this each time.Well, time matches on and here we are at the end of another year. With barely any creativity in my life. 2025 is going to be the year that I do it. I'm not going to go crazy, but I think a mental health journal is something that will definitely help me with my creativity and my physical and mental health. I love this year's set up that you have created and I really will set up my journal as a start to a better year than the last few! Thanks shayda!
I have been doing book bullet journal for years. I would track the books I read per month and book reading bingos and challenges. But this past year I have been having a hard time mentally and haven’t been reading. I never thought about going a mental health bullet journal. Definitely going to start one! I love these creative side of bullet journaling. I’m excited to start this!! Thank you
So beautiful! I just completed my first full year of bullet journaling and it has truly changed my life for the better. I can't wait to set up a new one over the holidays or in early 2025. Happy holidays and thank you for the inspiration!
I started journaling in 2019 when I’ve found your channel and started to work part time in transplant organization, it was night shifts so I had quite a lot of time to paint, doodle and have fun with paper. It became part of my personality since, I’ve learned how to draw a bit and thanks to you it looks quite pretty and I’m quite proud of the results of those years of doodling 😊. You’ve helped me to find this part of myself I didn’t know I was missing. Thank you 🤍 my future husband calls me whimsy and cozy person and I think It’s also because of journaling 😁
I am SO EXCITED about a mental health bulletin journal!! Im new to bullet journaling and feel overwhelmed with all of it- your printouts on patreon are perfect for me to make it pretty without pressure. Love it!❤
I feel like my approach to bujo has shifted over the years. I started off functional because I was in a high stress time. The following year I did too much and didn’t keep up with the functional part of my journal. I started following your spreads (because I knew I’d end up with a pretty illustration for whatever page I was working on) since last year and I had one of the healthiest relationships with my journal. It became the space that helped me deal with life again. So I am following your spreads again this year. I feel like some of these monochrome spreads can also serve as interesting little colouring pages when I am bored lol. So excited to see what you come up with this year! Currently drawing the little slug XD
I use my notebook as a weekly planner of sorts…a place I can list what I’d like to try and do, appointments to keep etc. then I use other pages as a brain dump, menus, things to remember etc. It’s very much adapted to what I need🎉
This will be my first bullet journal and it’s all about mental health and art for me. Thank you for the perfect examples and how-tos! You have been such an inspiration to me over the years with your flowers and doodles …. I’m gradually becoming more confident. Thank you so much!!!❤❤❤
Wow, I really interested in this themed bujo... really opens up the possibilities. Because a bujo doesn't necessarily have to be for future planning. Really cool - thank you for sharing!
I am new to journaling in general. I would love to make this something that helps me to relax and keep track of my lists while also using it to implement my faith, my prayers, and the books I’ve read. I also think that the relaxation tracker will help me to see what really helps me and get better at slowing down and true self care

The idea of a Mental Health Journal caught my eye. That sounds like a great idea. I've been struggling lately and hope this might really help me.
I fell for Bullet Journaling after stumbling across your channel years ago. You are very correct - it is super freeing. A fun space to create.
I love the brain dump. Getting everything out so I have a clear mind and can be more in the moment.
Definitely need a 2025 mental health journal. 2024 has been a terrible year for me. Hope I can use it to document my change and transformation in 2025. Merry X'mas to you and all!

Happy to hear it!
I love keeping a journal. I use writing and doodling or just painting. It helps clear my mind, ground me.
I keep my journal as an ‘external memory’ 😊. Also would like to say that I love to watch your videos as a sort of ‘me time’. Keep up the good work!
Happy Holidays 🎄!
Happy Holidays!
I love all your videos! You make everything very attainable and fun!
I'm new to journaling, but have a daily art practice, so am trying to marry the two. I love that this year's theme incorporates mental health into the mix! Brava, Shayna. That's a great addition!
I vote for a 2026 Shayda Journal to go into production! Loved this! I journal/ plan to stay organized!
I’m very excited that you are doing this book. I’m in need to get my head organized- thank you
My BuJo has been a way to incorporate creating in a useful way that makes me feel I’m not taking time away from my family or the things I have to do. It is a security blanket I pack and take with me all the places I go for anytime I feel bored, or anxious. A place I can keep myself accountable.
Well put!
That is so awesome to hear! I love how journaling can be a source of peace and creativity for you.
I love the setting up and designing of the bullet journal!
Frees up my thought process! I've been journaling for 30 odd years and it's always been a way for me to, not only say things I cannot tell anyone and get them off my chest, but to also preserve precious memories. I've been doing a separate journal for my kids since they were born in hopes of passing down this healthy habit. 📖✒️
I've journaled for a while as it helps me work through life. It's a real mental health saver especially during the Scandinavian winter months.
I came across a video of yours a few years ago and it started me on my journey. Looking forward to art and journaling in 2025
Thanks for all the great content on your site, along with your laidback vibe.
LOVE the return of some classic Shayda black and white bujo illustrations, and love that your 2025 is focused on your mental health 💛
Warmest winter wishes, Shayda!
||❤️!
I use my journal much like you to create, get messy, put down my thoughts and feelings. Sometimes I write over what I've written or gesso over but it helps to write down how I feel especially knowing that no one else will read it.
I use my journal for writing scripture and hymns, to keep focused. And I enjoy adding in a bit of water color around or at the bottom of the page. 😊
Happy holidays!
I love your channel, you taught me to draw flowers❤ I’ve been watching you for years and enjoyed every minute. Thank you for your content. Merry Christmas and a happy new year!
Happy new year!
Journaling, art and therapy has help me navigate so much this past year. I’ve been through some dark days, but I’m so very glad to be able to reconnect with my artistic side. I’m so thankful I found your account . It has helped me so much in my journey!
Glad you are here ❤️
I was very happy to see this video you made.
Thank you for sharing your story and the beautiful way you are approaching your Grow bujo! Some great ideas
I love using a bujo because it helps me keep everything in one place!
I love bullet journaling because it's so customizable. Your journal is quite lovely.
Thank you!
I’ve always found journaling to be very therapeutic. This year my goal is to add more creativity to my journal, so this will be so helpful.
I'm so glad it inspired you!
Quite honestly, you were the first person I ever heard say bujo, I had to google what it was! I’m still sorting through all the options of what to journal and how to bedazzle it. Yours are quite lovely
I hope my bujo inspires you to create something uniquely yours! 😊
Good luck with it!
Every year I wait for this video... and again, I love it!!!! ❤ going to love journaling another year with you this year! 😊❤
I am too! I love her videos.
Yes! Getting my thoughts down on paper has always been crucial. Thank you for doing these every year ☺️
I have been doing book bullet journal for years. I would track the books I read per month and book reading bingos and challenges. But this past year I have been having a hard time mentally and haven’t been reading. I never thought about going a mental health bullet journal. Definitely going to start one! I love these creative side of bullet journaling. I’m excited to start this!! Thank you
I'm so glad it inspired you - I hope it helps! Maybe it can be a combo mental health book bullet journal in the future :)
I’m trying to lean into my hard and want to keep growing. Thanks for your video!!!
So beautiful! I just completed my first full year of bullet journaling and it has truly changed my life for the better. I can't wait to set up a new one over the holidays or in early 2025. Happy holidays and thank you for the inspiration!
Happy holidays!
Simply beautiful. Thank you for sharing! Very inspiring, as usual 😊
So glad it inspired you!
Love this!
I am SO EXCITED about a mental health bulletin journal!! Im new to bullet journaling and feel overwhelmed with all of it- your printouts on patreon are perfect for me to make it pretty without pressure. Love it!❤
Yay! I hope you find them helpful!
❤️
I use my notebook as a weekly planner of sorts…a place I can list what I’d like to try and do, appointments to keep etc. then I use other pages as a brain dump, menus, things to remember etc. It’s very much adapted to what I need🎉
bujo is perfect for making it your own!
This will be my first bullet journal and it’s all about mental health and art for me. Thank you for the perfect examples and how-tos! You have been such an inspiration to me over the years with your flowers and doodles …. I’m gradually becoming more confident. Thank you so much!!!❤❤❤
I'm so excited for you and your bullet journal journey! Have fun!
❤just what I needed! Journalling this way is a game changer for me! Thank you
I so need this. I can’t wait to set mine up. Thank you!😊
Wow, I really interested in this themed bujo... really opens up the possibilities.
That sounds like a wonderful way to use a journal! I did some reading journals in my setup a couple of years ago
Wow, it was actually 2020! ruclips.net/video/Xww_DeeNdTY/видео.html Reading tracker: 35:35
I love the idea of a mental health journal! Can’t wait

❤️
For my mental health this year, I will finally start your e-course that I purchased in … 2023. Thank you for all that you give. ❤
woo!
Getting the good as well as the bad out on paper helps me get a better perspective on what is really happening.
❤bujo. Busy mom of 2 and full time job, this is the better way to balance out and yes my quiet peaceful moment. De-stressed🥰
Impressed you still fit it in!
Another great video! I love the idea of a bujo/mental health journal. Merry Christmas, Shayda.🎄🤗
