I have a Fortis watch that is about twenty-eight years old, an automatic watch, and it is wonderful and still works to this day

Yes I have really been taken with this Fortis. I had a bad experience a while ago with a Fortis if you look in my video feed but this one changed my whole view

really love that watch. Almost bought it as my first automatic watch. But in the end after much searching I found the Breitling Superocean 44 Special which also has a black full ceramic bezel. Obviously otherwise a completely different watch but its the first sub 5000 diver I immediately fell in love with.

Hi Alexander. I hear you on that I was actually torn between the same two watches. I actually tried on the Britling superocean 44 and decided to go with the Fortis. Just mainly because of the history and honestly for me personally I'm glad I picked the Forts as I do prefer it. But both great watches. Thanks for commenting.

I have one of these with the bracelet. I use a nato on it instead

Nice review. I'm thinking about getting me the fortis flieger professional which as you probably know is basically the same one that you reviewed here minus the tachymeter and some other differences, namely the hour and minute hands. What are your thoughts on that one?

    • @CasualWatchReviews
      @CasualWatchReviews  6 лет назад

Hey Paul, thanks for commenting. I really like the design of the Flieger, that large crown and it shares that great touch of orange on the hands like mine. I'm a big fan of fortis so I'm sure you wont be disappointed, just maybe watch my video on 'the best leather straps on Etsy' and budget for a nice strap that matches the quality of the watch.

Great video 👍! If you don't mind my asking, what's your wrist size? I'm trying to get an idea of how large the watch would wear on me.

Hey, sorry I usually mention it, mine changes from 7.25 - 7.5 inch

Excellent review. I am hesitant to invest in a product from a company that just declared bankruptcy a couple of months ago. Have they solved their financial issues? The watch is certainly beautiful.

Hi Mark, thanks for commenting. I actually did a video on this exact subject ruclips.net/video/jBCH33sgfc8/видео.html As far as an update I think May will be the decider if they have managed to reorganise their debt. The watch actually uses a ETA 7750 so the parts that are not Fortis specific should be easy to service.

Well done! Great review! The history of the watch is absolutely fantastic but still not for me😥 but i love the aesthetic appeal of the watch....simple and complicated at the same time...

Hi Erwin, thanks for watching. I’m a big fan of this watch and the busy dial but appreciate its not for everyone. I was very pleasantly surprised with this watch when I received it.

which watch is your recommendation? You did a video where you were not happy with one (strap I think) where it would not go back on after taking it off. You took the strap off anyway and kept if off. I would like to get a Hirsch for it. Thoughts? and the numbers 402.26.11 says it is a P>M> watch. what is that? Thanks

Hi, Yes your right. I did a video on the B42 version of this watch. Thats the one that is mostly used in Space by Roscosmos, although my version was without chronograph. This version had a solid bar with screws to fix it. It was this bar that was awful on mine to get back in. But that was with the stock leather strap. I don't think you would have an issue with another 3rd party strap. The version in this video is the Classic PM version an uses standard spring bars like you would see on most other watches. This watch is probably one of the best chronographs I have ever owned, I just love it. I would consider getting the B42 version again but probably the chronograph and that one I would get on a metal bracelet so I don't have to worry about changing the strap.

I bought the watch you have ceranic but with metal bracelet. Immediately took that off so I dont scratch it and am just on nato now awaiting a nice leather strap. Nice watch but not a great night watch I am noticing. More a tool watch than a bling also. I do think it is a keeper tho. Always wanted a V7750!

Great video of a watch ,, my only criticism is surely the average family man can’t afford watches like this ,,,? It’s like watching top gear on a Ferrari ,out of reach to average joe ,, I’m not jealous just can’t waste my life away watching videos on stuff I can’t afford ,, cheers Shane uk

Hi Shane, in terms of watches this is not that expensive. I sold this pre owned one shortly after the review for maybe around $1,400 so probably just over a grand UK? For a watch that is probably not even classed as midrange. I guess it depends on what you class as value and what you enjoy. Like you clearly enjoy motorbikes?

The Fortis is much good looking than the Omega. Omega is OP.

Thanks for commenting, I no longer have the fortis, I also filmed a comparison video between this watch and the speedmaster if your interested.
