Paper Mache Hand! Easy Tutorial

- Make a realistic human hand with a simple paper mache technique (just newspaper applied with glue on an armature. NOT pulp or clay). You only need: wire (2.0 gauge), old newspapers, mask tape and wood glue.
Make a hand like this, paint it if you like and you can use it as decoration or even as a prop to show jewellery.
Easier than it looks!
Enjoy!
Tip no 1: It is much easier than it looks
Tip no 2: You can chose to make more slender or pointy fingers for a more expressionistic or fantasy result
Tip no 3: you can paint it over (I painted one of them white, the other I couldn't chose color...)
And a note: if you make rings or bracelets you can use it as a prop to show them.
Enjoy!
What mm thickness of wire is this? I have a big project and don’t want to buy anything more thick than I need.
@@DavidTanisDreams It is definitely more than 1.00 mm. That means either 1,20 or even more. It is cheap galvanized wire with no packaging information, bought from a hardware store.
I think tim burton will love you as a narrator
u should be a horror film actor seriously
SERIOUSLY. lol like i hope that's not insulting, she has a really cool, spooky voice.
It’s not spooky, it’s nice
Ya
BROOO
Not in a bad way either. At the very least you could do voice work. You have amazing looks and voice for a number of cool roles.
Your voice is creepy yet soothing and I am SO here for it. Thank you, I'm going to use this for jewelry!!
What I love most about your videos is that as soon as I think of a question about the tutorial, your video magically answers it. It's like you have somehow read my mind! You are an excellent teacher and I greatly value your work.
Absolutely agree - this has happened to me many times as well. I wonder ... ? and she gives the answer in the next moment :D Thank you Babonga - you are a treasure

I might add this to one of my mannequins. Usually I don't add hands to my mannequins so I can add gloves easier but the fingers seen more spread out here conpared to when I make a copy of my hand so it might actually be able to use this. Thanks!

wow cool creation. thanks for shearing
How did you get the finished white one in the start of the video? the one next to the paper mache one
It is the same work (building the hand and applying paper mache I mean) and after it dried,I just painted it with white plastic color.
@@babongababonga9588is it acrylic paint or some different type? i’m trying to make a piece for an art show🙏
What color should be apply pn it?????
I hesitated to color them because it might show all the imperfections. If I had to chose though, I would prefer a dark color, it hides some of the imperfections.
Can we use plastic salutape
Omg your voice is so sweet
Who else wants to make Thing from Wednesday?

Where do I get free old newspapers

YOu tell the lenght of the wire, but what is the gauge?
One mm gauge or a little thicker, common wire.

I going to make this
Can we use simple glue with water, for sticking?
Not clear glue, is not going to work. White glue, though, will work fine.
@@babongababonga9588 thanks a lot ❤️
What did you do for the bottom base (the base that's holding up the hand sculpture)?
A flat piece of carton.
@@babongababonga9588 I meant after you were done with the hand, what did you do to the carton?
Integrated it with the rest of the sculpture by using a few layers of newspaper and glue. It serves as a flat thin base.
@@babongababonga9588 THANK YOU!! I actually finished up my hand with the help of your video. Thank you
How long did it take you?
If I remember correctly, about 3 mornings. One morning for the armature and very rough features, another for the paper mache layers and a third morning for the details. As you see I didn't paint them really because it would have taken even more time.
Woahh the voice
Hi! What sort of wire is this? X
Just common galvanized wire from the hardware store, not steel or anything fancy. It's good for all sorts of work, cheap and it retains the shape.
@@babongababonga9588brilliant! Thank you for getting back to me!
Go to settings and speed playback up to 1.75x . Thank me later 👍✌️
Could u write the steps down simplified in the comments??
Greek??
Can I use PVA glue instead?
Yes, I guess. If it is a white glue, soluble in water.
How long does it take to dry?
I usually let them dry overnight. But some times I use a hair dryer to quicken the process.
Any army here 💜 for your bias hand...✌️🤪😉
A s m r voice
Put somebody hand inside
After listening to you I think I just shitted my pants..... So creepy 😱
Same
Waw🥰
OK hold the f**k up what the heck was moving around top left corner at 10:45? Please tell me I'm not the only one to see it. The cat was even on the right side at the same time, so not the cat.
Top left, I checked and I can't see nothing. On the left but not at the top is another one of my cats. 😸
Your voice is So Scary😱
couldn't watch it through the end her voice and the way she was talking was annoying i had to skip through did not like it ugh!
