On the pertinent question of ALLEGIANCE, outside of dual citizenship by descent and otherwise, why didn't the panelists ask the astute lawyer about the PM 's SWORN ALLEGIANCE to the UK's Privy Council and the secrets entrenched thereof. It would also appear that this flurry of contention was only an issue to a member of parliament who is now favoured to occupy the position of prime minister. It somehow wasn't an issue of contention for all those other current sitting members of parliament, including the ruling party, who are, not only sworn dual citizens, but born in a foreign country and gained dual citizenship for Jamaica by descent(Jamaican parents) before now. Especially in light of the fact that ANY sitting member of parliament, by the drop of a hat without any length of notice or aspirations, can become a prime minister as evidenced in the past with the current prime minister. So what is different now? Whilst it remaina a valid issue, is the real issue then a question of allegiance to Jamaica, or a question of a challenge for the position of prime minister? Would the question of dual citizenship allegiance been an issue if that challenge was coming from within the ruling party and not the opposing party given that there are members of parliament within the ruling party with dual citizenship who can become prime minister at any point in time? So is it that, as long as the challenge for the position of prime minister remains in the ruling party, dual citizenship allegiance is not an issue? Is it that dual citizenship allegiance only becomes an issue when the challenge for the position od prime minister comes from the opposing party? Herein lies the perfect opportunity to get to the root of the matter omce and for all, bringing the truth to light. More importantly to establish a policy that serves all, under the given circumstances, and not just some.
