    It does return slowly. At one point I had opened and reassembled and it would make a whistling sound when pushing the primer. I’ve tried different primer bulbs, a new kit and even the plastic block the bulb attaches to.

    I used to run the stihl oil because I had so much of it for the extra warranty when buying the equipment. My spark arrestor would plug up several times a year. As soon as I stopped using the stihl ultra oil and started using the Echo red armor it has never plugged up since. I gave all my stihl oil to my neighbor who is a landscaper.

      I've seen that as well from repairing customer equipment. The problem I have is that when I say anything remotely negative about another brand I get the stink eye because we sell husky and echo.

      It sounds like a fuel line or an internal carb issue.

      Intermittent electrical problems can be a challenge to track down although a quick visual inspection may reveal a loose or broken wire. Good luck.

    I have an 85C blower. All symptoms point to a clogged spark arrestor. However, my spark arrestor is a flat screen across the discharge of the muffler...Not a removable piece as in the 86C blower. I am open for suggestions on how to clean the screen, remove it completely, or just drill holes in the outlet side of the muffler, through spark arrestor screen so the engine can exhaust gasses properly.

    • @TheGreasyShopRag
      @TheGreasyShopRag  2 месяца назад

      Typically there is a screw on the end of the screen. Remove the screw and pull the screen out.

    the carb post on my blower (Sh 85) are loose. How do you tighten these 2 posts? The filter box is tight but the whole carb and filter box move around excessively. It still runs good but that vibration of the unit troubles me. Thank you for making this video.

    • @TheGreasyShopRag
      @TheGreasyShopRag  2 года назад

      Those long bolts pass through a plastic insulator and tighten when you tighten the carb. I'll bet the insulator itself is loose. Take the carb off and look at that piece the long bolts pass through. There are two bolts holding it to the cylinder.

    I did the same repair on the same machine and mine won’t run now nor will the primer work. What am I missing ?

      Did the primer work before you took it apart?

    • @anthonydale3981
      @anthonydale3981 Месяц назад

      @@TheGreasyShopRag It did . Not now. I’ve done many before with no problems.

    • @TheGreasyShopRag
      @TheGreasyShopRag  Месяц назад +1

      @@anthonydale3981 Well if it won't prime then the possibilities include a bad primer, a bad check valve in carb, a pinched fuel line, a holed fuel line, a plugged fuel filter. What did I miss? Fuel lines crossed? Does it make sucking sounds when you prime or does the bulb just return really slow?

    • @anthonydale3981
      @anthonydale3981 Месяц назад

      I’m thinking the check valve you mentioned is the culprit.

    Ive got a Husky 125bvx blower & had similar issues-i replaced the fuel lines & a new primer bulb & a new fuel filter-also decided rather than fiddle with a carb kit i fitted a new chinese carb!- after primming the bulb it started on the 3rd pull-& little tweek on the high jet & the job was a goodun!!
    The carb was less than 10 quid inc post!! (£10 Uk pounds) nice machine-no further probs-yet?
    Laterrrrrrr (probs?)

    • @TheGreasyShopRag
      @TheGreasyShopRag  2 года назад

      Some times those chinese carbs work and some times they don't but I've never had an OEM not work. It takes time to find, order and install a crap carb. Then do you return it or eat it? None of this time is billable in the customers eyes. I'm glad it worked out for you.
