I'm a 44yr old father of 2 girls and this song dropped when I was 21 in late 98! 90s had so many great girl bands as well that guys weren't afraid to admitting to liking
Yes. I agree. In the 80s all the bands were labeled as "chick bands". The music industry knew that if the women went to see those bands, so would their boyfriends. In the 90s, however, women started stepping up to the plate. So the playing field was evened out. Glam died and unwantingly passed the torch to grunge. All of a sudden, it became more about music and less about image.
One of my favorites. Never have I ever met another who loved this band other than my brother who passed too soon in 2013. Would love to find a like minded friend
Because they didn't sell that much i suppose also the Breeders had the benefit that Kim Deal became popular thanks to her time with Pixies. Both great though
Id say for a few reasons .. firstly, their sound was too many genres infused into one. One of the reasons they appealed to me. Primarily, they were an indie pop band mixed in with electronic, disco, funk and hip hop, so they were hard to pigeon hole. Second i dont think audeinces knew how to take a group of girls playing guitars, singing in harmonies and then rapping in the next verse.. it was beastie boys meets beck meets veruca salt meets jamiroquai. Also they were heavy on the harmonised vocals which was more popular in the early 90s so it might've sounded a lil dated to some ppl. Lastly, athough they had some strong pop songs that had moderate commercial success, their albums were never fully realised and felt like it needed a bit more of that same energy as their hits.
Poor Gabby. Between the backing tracks and having no vocal mike, she almost had nothing to do but stand there. She was much more prominent in their earlier years.
Although I absolutely hate this song and think it's one of the worst I've ever heard I just LOVE the lead singer! She has an amazing voice and she is stunningly beautiful! I'm totally in love with her
What a natural singer.
One of the great underappreciated bands of the 90's.
I fucking love Luscious Jackson!!
So hard to do a song like this live and sound good
They did incredible job!
They were Amazing!!! They should’ve been much bigger than what they were. What an awesome song.
Extremely under-rated band. Produced by Daniel Lanois, this album is awesome.

The Leno intro brought so many memories of me and my Mom watching Jay after the local news. Oan: God Luscious Jackson was SOOOO dope
Jay had some good music!
Great performance for a talk show. Imagine hitting it when you come out cold like this. Pretty damn good.
I had a massive crush on Jill Cuniff around this time lol

I don't understand why luscious Jackson isn't as popular as the breeders and others

And now, ladies and gentlemen, put your hands together....Luscious Lopez! :) (I agree, though, great for posting this.)
Everyone still wearing bucket hats back then lol 😂
At least Kate's not trying to replicate Reni's look from the Stone Roses with the bucket dork hat.
Lovedly song
RIP Tia!
Song starts @1:03
I wish that jill would crush some bass lines on this one.
Who is the lead guitarist at far right?
i feel old
Howard Caughy don't worry, I'm older, 54...
GR2Records-the group is LUSCIOUS JACKSON not Luscious Lopez.

Luscious Lopez would have been a cool band name.

How I miss the 90s; not Leno though
PROGESTERONE POWER!!!
Although I absolutely hate this song and think it's one of the worst I've ever heard I just LOVE the lead singer! She has an amazing voice and she is stunningly beautiful! I'm totally in love with her
She is very pretty. I like the song though
lol? whats so bad about it:P
I can't even fathom how someone could "absolutely hate" this song. Not like it? Sure. Hate it? What? Absolutely hate it? Mind-boggling.
Her name is Jill Cuniff and she is very talented.
