  • AirPack 50/50 - packing your wing:
In this video we show how to pack a glider. It´s not only helpful for the 50/50 AirPack but also useful for any other inner-bag packing...
Weighing in at a tiny 160grams, and produced with durable and breathable materials, the 50/50’s smart design supports reduced packing volume, and most importantly, lower overall pack weight.
... and, check the outtakes at the end of the video

Fine method on a warm summer day but extremely difficult on a cold windy winter day with frozen fingers. I had to switch to a concertina bag witch makes my life much easier.

Thanks for the demo, I will try to pack my loco like this. Had difficulties last time because I didn't know how to fold the trailing edge. It will be fine, the loco being very small, but I wouldn't want to use this bag with a regular wing

I hate this 50/50 for the Vivo, it ends up way too compressed particularly when it comes to folding it in half, I feel like I'm about to rip the wing in half, it's horrible! Of all the methods I've tried, this is the best but the back is just too small, the straps are just too short. For the sake of a few extra grams and a longer lifespan for my wing, I would gladly have a slightly bigger bag and longer straps!

I am still trying to figure out how to pack my Rise 3 into 50/50 without disconnecting from my harness.

Simple: once you have folded the trailing edge on top like he does in the video, drag your harness 90 degrees to the bag. Close the trailing edge zipper up to the middle length of the bag, then close the other zipper on the leading edge side. fold the bag, secure it with both straps. Done! :-) (now regarding the video: he does a very bad mistake in his demo: he does not use the riser bag and let all the hardware in contact with the wing. Never do this if you disconnect!!)

kind of strange packing in to this very small bag - of course if you kneel all over the glider on (whet) gras or stony terrain it might work (and damage the glider) - otherwise for me it was a bit frustrating to copy this silly method of packing a glider - give the customers a choice of other bags (concertina light) or I will choose another brand after test flight :-)

Yes, may be you are right. I am using the same method for Vivo and lots of pilot told me that i will damage my wing this way. And I am still struggling how to pack my Vivo into 50/50. It's really hard.

I have ranted and lost my cool many times on the folding area at the club... Then back home, I watched the video 10 times over, and found that it works perfectly. And I never press my knees on my beloved wing. Never.
