Thanks a ton I have a 64 1/2 mustang that I’m converting over to a 1 wire alternator. I’ve seen quite a few videos but yours was the ONLY one sorry for shouting just a lil excited. That was spot on. I bought the alternator that looks like a generator and those directions was not helpful at thanks a ton.
@@DrArtshotrodrehab do you know what could be causing a short when I try to put my battery cable on the engine try’s to start even when the key is not in the ignition ?
@@Demastrify could be multiple things I would start by disconnecting the black wire with the yellow stripe from the battery side of the starter solenoid and see if the short goes away
@@Demastrify that voltage is ok Your start issue sounds like there are wires crossed on the solenoid Can you shoot me some pics of how you have the solenoid wired Send them to dr.artsstuff@gmail.com
Out of all the videos I seen this is the best one. Thanx for explaining the power back into the car. I did what u said now the car will start. Everyone else says just to basically ignore the wires from the voltage regulator. Thanx Alot buddy
Hi, I have a 1963 Futura which I upgraded with a one wire alternator with a post for the gene (AKA idiot) light on the dash. Am I correct that I will connect it to the thin black and yellow cable running (I hope) to the gene lamp on the dash? Thank's for your vid!
I have a 1963 Falcon Ranchero, I'm looking to convert mine as well. Did you have to install a regulator since you removed the old one or just wired it directly into the solenoid?
Hey best video I’ve seen so far! What size wire did you use to connect the alternator to the solenoid
It was like a 0 gauge std battery cable
Thanks for watching

What gauge wire did you use for new wire going to solenoid
It’s been a while, but I believe it was either 14 or 16 it was one size bigger basically than the factory wire
Nicely done. It's easier than I thought it would be considering your good instructions. Thanks (63 Falcon Futura 2 dr. sedan)
thanks for watching , glad I was able to help

Got an alternator installed and I'm rolling. Thanks again buddy
Looking to make the swap using the alternator you have posted in the video description.
One year later, how is it holding up?
Thanks!
No problems
Works great

my '65 already had the alternator with the separate regulator so I'm staying with it.

Sounds correct
My light stayed off when I connected power back into the car
