    I’ve had KitchenAid for yrs. Last year my Husband bought me an Ankarsrum for my birthday. I highly recommend it. Can handle enough dough for 6 loaves of bread, easy to clean and built to last. Yes they’re pricey but will not be replacing this one.

      Yes you can’t go wrong with the Ank either!

    I love my New Ankarsrum Original. (Christmas gift❤️) The largest non commercial mixer. I love that it has a bottom motor which gives you total open bowl n it looks so pretty n comes in many colors. It also has stainless steel 7 liter bowl (holds 11 lbs of dough)
    Im grateful to have found out about it as i start my journey learning to bake n mill fresh flour. Tnx for your videos

    It is a cutie. What is the warranty on the mixer? That would be a really good thing for me about the quality of the mixer.
    My ankarsrum mixer the warranty was a huge selling point for me.

      Ah I didn’t even check on that. Ok so according to their website they have a 30 day money back guarantee with receipt. Then they have a 12 month limited warranty. If you register they’ll extend it an additional 6 months. Then with Amazon you can purchase a 3 year warranty but I’m not sure what all that entails.

    GREAT job on the demo ... I like that you give a real fair representation of the machine. Just from watching I was a little concerned about the "shaking" going on as it mixed the dough. I'm not an expert, but in my opinion, that shaking showed that it was laboring to do the job. And that in itself makes me leary about it holding up over time. So glad you bring us these options that are out there, but I'm still saving my cash ... still steadfast on owning a Bosch! Thanks for the food info!

      You won’t regret getting the Bosch! 😀

    Loved the review. Agree. I do believe this is a great alternative to the Kitchen Aide. However, if you’re home milling the Artiste (which is what I use) and the universal can’t be beat.

    My old kitchen aid made 2 loafs a week for years and still working.

      Yes my stand mixer worked for a few years too but I did eventually burn out the motor AND I just needed a larger capacity anyway lol But keep using what you have! 😀

    I'm thinking that speed 6 for kneading dough is putting a bit much strain on any planetary mixer, hence the shaking. Does the manual make a speed recommendation for kneading?

    I bought a Bosch universal right after I found this channel and love it. I actually was gifted a new kitchenaid in Aqua at that same time and have to be honest. The motors on new kitchenaid aren't like the good ole mixers from the past. China owns the brand now like everything else, that use used to be great when American made. Have to honest, it shows china in the motor on how poor it is. It whines, its loud and sounds like it needs oil or something but I didn't pay for it and it's pretty on the counter. I definitely wouldn't pay for one or recommend it either.

      Yeah, KitchenAid isn't what they used to be.

    I just purchased a refurbished Bosch Universal Plus mixer. Got it yesterday. Made a loaf of bread and it made all the difference in the world! I love my Kitchenaid lift mixer for cakes and cookies but the motor was getting too warm with my fresh milled dough. I have a small kitchen and I’m having to purge things to make room. But it’ll be worth it. This mixer you showed is nice but I’m not too sure about the digital aspect. But it sure is pleasantly QUIET, small enough to store….And pretty.

      Yeah I have to admit having to take the time to learn how to use it was a little annoying for my impatient self lol I am used to just turning a dial. Simple. But it still is such a sleek design and it only took a few minutes to figure it out.

    I love that it's made in Germany, modern tech, started in 2009, that's their mid range mixer, good power 500 watt. They have a 7L, 550 watt, that cost more than the Ankarsrum which I bought my mom over 20yrs ago, it cost me around $400-$450 on sale, can't believe they now cost $750. It's a 600 watt motor, made in Sweden since 1940; but these don't have all the extras as the Hauswirt.

    Thank you ! I am currently trying to replace my KitchenAid. It just can’t handle the Dow I recently got a wonder meal mixer and the three speeds on it disappointed me so I sent it back.

    They have dough guards so that the dough does not get stuck up in there.

    I wonder if it would shake less while kneading if it was on a lower speed

    • @GrainsandGrit
      @GrainsandGrit  5 месяцев назад

      Possibly but I can’t have it too slow because then it won’t knead properly.

    Did the motor get really hot?

    • @bethp8436
      @bethp8436 5 месяцев назад +1

      I was wondering how warm or hot the motor got too after kneading dough for 9 minutes? That type of mixer is usually a strain on the motor and it heats up working that hard.
