Northern Michigan here. Only way I survive while wearing cute things I have no business wearing in 10° F is layering. Super fitted thermals, athletic shirts/leggings, fleece tights, etc. If they are fitted enough and not bulky then they are practically invisible under your outfit. Unless the outfit is cropped or cut, I like to either match the colors or do a pop of color with my underlayer. I have also seen people layer nude fleece leggings under sheer tights. You could still use Yuyan's style just with a couple tweaks and I think she's done a layering video or has mentioned what she would do for colder climates like NY. Kaiti Yoo has a layering video on her channel that I like as well.
In the first outfit, the black bag, dark coat buttons, and black shoe accents look so harmonious together 😍
