Not bad at all for a 6,000 pound monster. I have a g20 and will never let go of it. It's a great vehicle, nonetheless a Van

I forgot that this model year had been built with only lap belts, but it has been nearly 30 years since I sat in one last!

My father had a 1983 g20 van got hit on passenger door went head on with a 1997 caprice and the engine was still running the 2 front tires were flat and no brakes had to turn the van off a hit a pile of snow to stop the tank . both front doors still opened and we had not one scratch this truck is a life saver🏅 my father had like 7 g20s and just finished buying 2 g20s 1979 and 1994

I drive one of these. Nice to know the kids in the back will be safe.

Had the front seats had shoulder restraint belts both driver and passenger would have walked away.

I drive one of these, and everyone saying that with a belt they would've been fine, oh they had belts, but no stopping mechanism.

Being a unit body they were pretty darn tough compared to the later body on frame ones still being built today.

Looks like someone could be seriously hurt in a head on. Wondering how she'd fair in a roll over situation.

Results are simple. If the vehicle had more crush room,it gives more room for the shock to spread..

And yet, the HIC in this test for the driver was supposedly 858. Sounds like they needed to get their dummies checked. Looks like they under registered the impact. Because that violent steering wheel contact looks nothing like an 858 HIC.

Looked like the driver dummy grabbed his face right after impact.
