I loved her as much as I loved myself back then. She was the most beautiful person I had ever seen. I remember being 15 and seeing the Jet magazine layout of Vanity6 in back of the Limo. I starred at it for hours. She was so gorgeous and free. No1 hated her, no1 ever said a bad thing about her. She was Vanity. There'll never be another. Baddest chick in the music industry ever! I adore her. She could sing, dance, model. Everything! No one will ever come close to replacing her. RIP Vanity. Love you forever.
I'm sorry. Anyone listening to this and still doubting Vanity's vocal ability is deaf and needs to do some homework. She is climbing up and down friggin JAZZ scales with ease.
This is Prince real true love, but many people did not know this fact. Live through this era and the women were naturally beautiful and Sexy. One love in the sky, Cosmo.
THE ULTIMATE JAM.... ♥ I remember we use to jam this and Lady Cab Driver... heavy rotation by Prince and the duet with Vanity and Morris. Rest In Peace Denise AKA Vanity
As far as the French spoken part, she talks about how she adores & loves her mirror or something to that effect. Been since 1970 HS that I tried to speak it! Yes SISTER Denise's song is a cult classic but it was that before she died because she gave herself to God. Let's all honor her memory as the evangelist by loving each other and trying to do right by each other. Thanks for posting.
I never even knew this duet existed until I found a copy of the 12'' in a dingy record shop a few years back. It's a jam. So sad she's passed away, she had such a lovely voice.
Because the music companies at that time loved creativity and allowed artists to create original content and create new lanes. I am so happy I was born in 1964 because I caught all the beautiful music and it was inspiring for real.
I loved this song back then and it still kicks ass. Vanity was absolutely beautiful. In an era when so much music sounded the same she came from no where with Nasty Girl and never turned back. She along with Teena Marie really changed music. They added the umph and funk and we fell in love. I miss them both.
Vanity plays to her strengths and speaks French with Morris Day for a fine duet of style, sardonic with, playful banter. She moans and wriggles with perfection and vocalizes with attitude. This is her forte. One of favorite tracks. Lil Kim should learned from her.
r.i.p she was the bomb, she was on drugs real bad with Nicki six of montley crue back in the day.....n ur right riri can learn from the best...thank u Prince for bringing , Vanity to us,r.ip also
You have just become cult classic, Denise Matthews rest easy dear! I've always loved your music and had no idea what you, prince, Morris day none of y'all were talking about. I was just pretending with my Barbie's pretending they were vanity 6 and prince and the time
Yes that is Morris Day. This is my favorite Vanity song. I adored her. She took beautiful, sexy and talented to new heights. No performer then or since will ever replace her.
@ScienceProjek Her vocals were on point for the project... she is amazing. Not the average singer, no... but she had far more talent than Apolonia. Check out Vanity singing Sexshooter from Purple Rain! It took the song to another level it was funky and smart... and nasty. Look it up...
RIP Denise. Hopefu)y time will tell what a great pop/rock album Wild Animal truly is. In any case, thank you for keeping. a smile on my face for over three decades.
@MrsJonesSturgis Yes...she was a very beautiful and talented actress & singer! She's left a footprint in our history...Thats why she's still being talked about in 2010. May she be born again...or dead.....We all know her name, her music, and her acting....
Prince was such an incredible producer. Probably the greatest producer ,song writer , producer , talent scout etc. Affected my life till today. Defined who I am
@@kimerietate8372 Different strokes for different folks. I love her breathy vocal performance on this album. It's got character. Not a great singing voice, but there's something about it that works. I agree though, Apollonia couldn't sing at all. All of Vanity's albums were superior to Apollonia's. I just listened to Apollonia's single solo album and I couldn't even get through it. At least the production on Vanity's Wild Animal album was top notch.
@@thenewapelles6448 Vanity’s career happened because of her LOOKS.She sang on-key;I’ll give her that. She actually wasn’t bad as an actress, in my opinion.I liked her in this movie called “Memories of Murder.”
"Fishnet" was a good song even if the Album was a flop. However, the work he did with "The Time" was much better. "Get It Up", "Gigolo Get Lonely Too", and "The Walk" are classics. Still his first solo release was one cassette I played from side to side. Song included "Oak Tree", "The Character", and the very underated "Don't Wait For Me".
Who still listening in 2024?? Morris Day This Song Is 🔥 ❤
