    I've had the short and tall set for about 2yrs and have worked great from a dodge avenger to a Chevy z71. I also bought the saddle posts for axles . Yes they are expensive but cheaper than a funeral

      I could not agree more with you! When you think about it, they're a small price to pay instead of a casket or cremation 🤣🤣. The saddle posts look very neat, there are some cool accessories for these. Glad you have enjoyed them as well!

      I'm trying to decide between the low profile or standard height jack as I'll be using these with a honda accord, honda pilot and a GMC Sierra 1500. I assume the standard jack would be a little high for a sedan and the low profile would be to low for a 1500 truck or do you use the low profile jack on your z71?

      @@gweggslist4460 while I can't answer for him, I have used the low on both h mustang and F150. The high would be too tall for the mustang.

      @@gweggslist4460 I'm not sure about the low stand for the truck, as I haven't thought to check but I believe the tall stand would be pretty tall for your accord. If only buying one set I would probably buy the short and see how they fit under your truck.I would assume the short ones would work for the truck doing brakes and such but may not have the height for a transmission swap.Sorry I'm away and not able to measure them to let you know for sure.

      @@gweggslist4460 did you end up going with the standard or low profile and what are your thoughts?

    In my opinion the 3 leg jack stands are better than 4 leg. I never understood why they went to 4 leg. With 3 leg, it handles slightly uneven surfaces way better than a 4 leg jack. With 4 leg jacks, it’s like a chair on an uneven surface which I’m sure many of us have experienced. With 3 legs, the jack is never wobbly on uneven surface.

      The jackstands are so stable and the flat feet are so much safer. I had a buddy with me last weekend and he was so impressed with the stands. I love them and that's why I had to make the video. Just a much better design.

    To me, the Esco missed the chance to be really good by going with a single pin design. It would have been easy for them to space the holes to accomodate a U-shaped double pin. Way stronger shear strength with 2 pins.

    • @nleippe

      The single pin allows for more possible height settings. If you look at the photos you'll see there's 2 holes through the stand tube--thus each hole in the post has two possible height settings---without drilling more holes in the post. A double pin would significantly reduce the number of possible height settings without drilling lots more holes in the post reducing strength.

      Agreed. I love the jack stand still and I actually bought a bigger set of them to have. They're just so stable and well designed

    I've been following videos for ESCO jack stands. They are more expensive (about $110 for 2) but they are much more safety driven. Guess i'm getting a pair! Why take the chance?

    • @3VJohnny
      @3VJohnny  3 года назад

      That was exactly my thoughts too, Ron! People say how expensive $110/pair is, but so is a trip to the hospital or cremation lol. They really are built well and the pin is genius.

    Hey sorry if you mentioned this, I just didn't catch it in the video. Are these tall enough to get the wheels off the ground on your F150? I'm considering a set for my Ford Escape, but I'm not sure if the 10499 will cut it height wise. Normally, I'd just get the 10498 because it's bigger, but I have an option to get the 10499 for a pretty good deal.

      No worries at all! Yes they are on mine but mine is a two-wheel drive that I also lowered a few inches. So it's hard for me to say how high they've lift a stock height truck. But I have not maxed them out and I was still able to lift it up so I'd imagine it could.

    I use ramps for safety. I only use a stand if I have to take a wheel off.

    • @3VJohnny
      @3VJohnny  3 года назад

      I'm right there with you. Ramps accomplish most things I ever need to do unless I need to oull the wheels like you say. Jackstands freak me out

    No way you can release a jack that's under load. Stand on it and ask your friend to try and release it.
