    No link in description. Looks like you have to drive your vehicle up on blocks to use it so the jacking function wouldn't work too well on low vehicles.

    • @BillOfAllTrades2016

      Your vehicle needs 11 inches clearance to be able to use this jack. All in one jack stands are not intended for lower vehicles. Suvs and trucks only

    For storing a vehicle for a long time, does putting wood under the wheels save the tires? I’m guessing it does.

    • @BillOfAllTrades2016

      The jack was a bit high to fit under the subject vehicle so I parked on the blocks so I could simulate a higher ground clearance to do the video.

    Help me out here. Several different Amazon reviews say that the bottle jack doesn't retract on its own weight. Your effort 2:35 was simple. Your experience? Are they fake CAT competitor reviews?

    • @BillOfAllTrades2016
      @BillOfAllTrades2016  11 месяцев назад

      It’s hard to tell anymore with online reviews. It very well could be the competition slamming them in reviews to get more sales. I find with most products these days it’s a shot in the dark and you can’t trust any review. Personally I love these jacks. Never had an issue yet. Super easy to use. I recommend buying them. @@BillOfAllTrades2016 yeah, at 5:09 you sure seemed to disprove those Amazon reviews with a simple push down. I see their point though, which is if it doesn't "fall" under its own weight, once the wheels get back on the ground how do you get the product out from under the axle or frame if it's even just slightly "jammed"?

    • @BillOfAllTrades2016
      @BillOfAllTrades2016  11 месяцев назад +2

      Personally every bottle jack I’ve owned never went all the way down on its own. They all needed at least a finger push to help it the rest of the way down. My theory on that is if you look at a floor jack or trolly jack the piston has all the weight of the arm to help push the piston back in. For bottle jacks, the piston has no arm or any weight that will naturally pull it down.

    • @BillOfAllTrades2016
      @BillOfAllTrades2016  11 месяцев назад +2

      This vehicle is low but just like floor jacks, you need to look at clearances and extension height. Just because I showed them on an equinox which btw only has 7 inches ground clearance on the front bumper and 10 on the sides, doesn’t mean the jack is a waste. It is suitable for many applications. My main interest is the flat bottom that I mention in the review due to regular stands piercing the pavement. I still have a small floor jack the lift the front end a couple inches then put these on the pinch welds and the height I can get is amazing. I don’t think it’s a waste. If it’s a waste of money to you than you need not buy it. It’s not for everyone. But I love it. Thanks for watching

      For a large vehicle such as a truck, it would be wise to find out the travel of the suspension, both front and rear before spending money on a jack. The lift of the jack must exceed the travel of the suspension, otherwise the jack will not raise the wheels clear of the ground. The more that the jack lift exceeds the travel of the suspension the better. I had to buy a telescoping jack for my 3/4 tone 4X4 truck so that I do not have to block up the truck and jack it a second time, with blocking under the jack to extend its height.

    I have a similar unit. The one thing I dislike is that there’s 2 failure points and they are not redundant (the extension pin, and the locking mechanism). If either of those fail, it would be catastrophic. So the probability doesn’t work out great. Most late model jacks have a locking mechanism and a redundant safety pin.

    • @BillOfAllTrades2016
      @BillOfAllTrades2016  11 месяцев назад +3

      It’s rated for 4000 pounds. Just keep the load under that capacity and you will be ok. The locking mechanism is the same as a traditional axle stand. If you are scared of these “failure points” then you might as well not drive because your vehicle has dozens of failure points that are way more catastrophic if they fail. Do t over analyze things. These jacks work well. You are misleading people with your paranoia. Thanks for watching though.

      @@BillOfAllTrades2016 Union probability is not your friend when it comes to safety. Things fail.

    It would of been better if you showed the tire lifting off the ground as you jacked it up.. just so we kno it can be done .... without having to drag out a regular floor jack .

    • @BillOfAllTrades2016
      @BillOfAllTrades2016  6 месяцев назад

      Of course it can lift my wheel off the ground. If it wasn’t capable of that I wouldn’t have bout it. You seeing it lift my wheel wouldn’t be clarification for your setup anyways. Every vehicle has different weights and ride heights. The specifications are mentioned in the video. If your vehicle is less then 4 tons then it will lift. If 21 inch extension will lift will get your tires off the ground then this jack would work the same as any other jack with the same extension. You saw it lift the side of the vehicle up with ease. Complaining about not seeing the wheel lift off is a bit of a stretch I think ☺️. Thanks for watching
