I cried the WHOLE TIME. this is the only movie that has literally spoke to me. I’ve been unpacking so much trauma and having repressed memories come up and oh my god. Oh. My. God. I want to sue whoever is tapping my phone at a24
Something about I Saw the TV Glow that has stuck with me is the interpretation one could have with the sentiment "There is still time," which is often said but hardly meant. Depending on who you are, you will either find that ending something optimistic because of that phrase and the slight comfort Owen imagines, or you can view it as a sarcastic joke. Yes, we still have time, just not a lot left because so much of it was spent on dying rather than living. It's a film that will help others take that next step in figuring out who they are. Mostly with gender, but with anything if you want to view it that way. What risks are you not taking to avoid the discomfort of change? What does it mean to be you when you're hiding in plain sight? What does nostalgia provide other than reflection and escapism?
The exact sentiment that stuck with me. There is still time to get out of that life. There is still time to chase what you can have and want. A simple message that hasnt been delivered this well in awhile
