I have had horrible insomnia the past year. When I wake up in the middle of the night at all hours, I end up spending time talking with the Lord. It’s so wonderful to be able to go to him in prayer at any time of day or night, and know that he is listening to me intently. I lost my home in the Oregon fires, lost my dog a few months later, and then lost my sister shortly after that. If I did not have God to talk to, and share my heart with, I don’t believe I would make it threw Life's storms.
“He told me so” When they sing that last note, all is well for 5 seconds. I have trouble listening to this and not tearing up. I’m not religious but this is one of those rare compositions and performances that is the perfect embodiment of music’s divine power.
The year was 1989, we were performing at the National Association of Jazz Educators Convention in San Diego with my college vocal Jazz group. Guess who else was there? THESE GUYS. This album was new and it dramatically influenced me musically beyond words. Thank you TAKE 6 for inspiring so much love and greatness.
This from the early days of the group. The first album was definitely not only most sophisticated in harmonies, but also most blessed by the Holy Spirit. Prior they would spend 30-40 hours a week singing, and always praying to God-that's why is was finally blessed by more than human merits. I believe in this particular song, more than any other of the group (though perhaps two come very close) we can hear the authentic sound of angelic choirs in heaven... and I mean it...
He never sleeps, He never slumbers He watches me both night and day (Day and night/night and day) He never sleeps, He never slumbers The reason I know - He told me so I don't to worry, my soul's in His care I don't have to worry, He'll always be there I know that He's watching wherever I go I know that He's watching, He told me so He never sleeps, He never slumbers He watches me both night and day (Day and night / night and day) He never sleeps, He never slumbers The reason I know - He told me so
I remember first hearing this as a young teenager in Memphis, TN. They were real game changers...absolutely beautiful harmonies and chord changes! no one comes close!!
I heard Take 6 in the mid 80's and use to sing in a group who sang their music. Still their music in voices move my heart to give Glory to GOD in JESUS Name at this present day of 2018.
The Light of God surrounds me. The Love of God enfolds me. The Power of God protects me. The Presence of God watches over me. Wherever I am -- God is. (A great prayer when you worry that your airplane is surely going to crash because of extreme turbulence.)
@Release us from the Matrix He's still here even when men violate us for healing or to welcome us into heaven. Sadly it's the price of freedom. If God control us like robots, what life wiuld that be? Thank God there is more than just this life or it would all be one cruel joke.
2020-mai-18 I recorded this song in Bielefeld Germany (6 dec.'20) during the performance in concert with the orchestra😏. At first I thought it to be inappropriate, but there were two persons seated beside me (after "the break") and I had this clear impression they were part of "the organisation". And when she started to record (vid) with her phone... I figured;" why not"🤫... Even though the 6 performers were no bigger than my thumb 😁‼️ And since I had never "filmed" with my phone before, there was no way of "zooming" in 😄. Guess I'll never get famous with THAT recording, LOL‼️ Still, thanks for "the post"... Sincere regards in Christ Jesus Our Lord through the Holy Spirit, in His service ✝️🌹, A. DEE WAI 🕊️
There be many false "gods", demons, evil spirits, etc., in this world and roaming this earth. If you are referring to the one and only true God Almighty, then you should spell His title with a capital "G"! No disrespect, just sayin'.
Sheila Sharpe Thanks so much Sheila for your reply. I immediately got a positive vibe. You strike me as a good mom! I'm quite sure you doin' what you gotta' do and the best you can. "Youngsters" these days can be a handful. God Bless!
this song was the midnight sign-off of a NY/Phila area Christian radio station in the 1970s. it was a jazz arrangement performed by a small SATB choir. l am trying to find the recording. Does anyone know the group's name.
They way she came out like a WHOLE super villain. Where her mind at to think this was a win..? It’s literally SO disgusting. Disturbing. Bottom feeders. Couldn’t even use her own pics. People who can’t love themselves are seriously twisted. Pathetic.

He never sleeps,
He never slumbers
He watches me both night and day
(Day and night/night and day)
He never sleeps,
He never slumbers
The reason I know - He told me so
I don't to worry, my soul's in His care
I don't have to worry, He'll always be there
I know that He's watching wherever I go
I know that He's watching, He told me so
He never sleeps,

Alas, Denise, I really don't know who those folks were who made this recording. But I used it, years ago, in one of my own radio programs.
Me too, if you EVER find it let me know.

take 6 has lost those acapella roots, they are completely temporary
We still have this album. It's enough for me. Blows away 100 albums of lab factory musicians out today
How this has 22 dislikes, I have absolutely no idea 🤦🏽♂️
CONSIDER GIVING YOUR LIFE TO CHRIST, THE LOVING GOD, OKAY?
DR. MILLER, THEOLOGIAN
