He shouldnt have won that MVP. He sits out games now, but when the 65 game rule was put in place, he forced himself to play in order to win MVP. Then he played in the olympics to win a free gold medal but sat out when the season started. He doesnt care about the team, only himself.

Jokic literally had him beat in every defensive stat beaides blocks and on top of that had him beat in assists, rebounds, PER, plus minus, fg percentage etc. Embid only had more pts and blocks. I don’t think kawhi is the “worst” superstar. Currently the poster child for load management, I agree; but at least he was able to reach the top of the mountain a few times. He won his first championship as the 2nd best player on the team, while winning FMVP that year. Then he led another team to the championship as the best player against one of the greatest super teams in nba history. Embiid can’t even get out of the 2nd round. There is no comparison between these two. Kawhi, while a major disappointment since 2019, still has rings and other accolades to his name. Embiid only has an mvp that he doesn’t even deserve.

As a Heat fan Ive always liked how much power he played wherever he played on the court (that is when he doesnt sit out). However I did say before going into this season that i think its time the Sixers look to Maxey as the number one option for this team, because its obvious that Joel isnt going to commit to the game if he keeps doing this nonsense. Maxey is a definition of a superstar who engulfs maturity and does his job well. Unlike Embiid who constantly whines whenever he doesnt get what he wants and foul baits every player, which is why i never liked that about him.
I know us Heat fans give Jimmy Butler squat for load management as well and trust me im very annoyed by that as well. But the difference is that Jimmy is an older veteran player whos body is breaking down after the intense drills that Thibbedoau (think i mispelled that name) back in Chicago. Its not an excuse because i still need Jimmy to put some effort into it, but its the truth as im seeing it for the last couple of years.
But yeah this is going to be a tricky situation for Philadelphia.

I'm a Sixers fan and was done with Embiid after they lost to the Miami Heat 3 years ago in the playoffs. That was the season they traded for Harden at the deadline and Embiid got elbowed by Siakam in the 1st round causing a facial fracture in the waning minutes of Game 6. Sixers dropped the 1st 2 games in Miami and then Embiid came back in Game 3 at home and they evened the series and had momentum until Embiid didn't even bother showing up in Games 5 or 6 (neither did Harden). That Game 6 was especially bad since the season was on the line and Embiid played lazy and looked disinterested. The guy is just too soft and immature to be the top option on a championship team. I thought his best chance was to be a Marc Gasol defensive-type player in his final years to get a ring, but now it looks as if his body won't allow it....too much flopping and flailing

Here is how the problem is fixed. You do not get paid if you do not play. Also to get big contracts you have to hit winning, minutes, points, rebound, assist, thresholds. Playoff games played in/won get incentives too. To get max money, you have to keep performing. There is no guarantee. If you get a serious injury playing or in practice, there can be a minimum salary that is paid plus paid doctor bills. Same goes with coaching, front office, ban guaranteed deals. If you get fired no more pay. 100% this will fix sports.
