NBA teams need to stop giving guys 34+years old, a 4-year contract. Not every player can be LBJ. Giving a guy in his mid-30's a 4 year deal is a death sentence. Let this be valuable lesson.
name 5 other +34yr olds that are on 4yr contracts right now. where do people come up with the nerve to just spout absolute nonsense. oh “his clothes are blue so thats why we need to put our pants on “
Facts. They really can’t see the writing on the wall. They should have load up on depth instead to make a run and knowing Embiid needs to rest a lot. Philly had the cap space and thought by signing PG to a max 4 year deal will be a huge boost. But PG has been struggling to be healthy. And their franchise player is injury prone.
It’s crazy because he “trolls” (his words not mine) his own fanbase and other fanbases on purpose and leads Philly on or taunts other teams and then he is surprised when he isn’t liked. He needs to learn his actions have consequences fr I obviously don’t advocate for sending hate his way or what that one reporter said, that was a step too far, but he needs to back up what he’s saying and lock in before it becomes another James Harden situation in Philly
Exactly and nobody listened to me when i said AD only gets injured bc he plays through nic nak injuries and it led to more serious injuries like Achilles strain in 2021 playoffs or groin strains and ankle injuries
Anyone who said this just didn't watch enough. The most he deserved was being called made of glass. He may have had some issues, mainly not playing Center in the past. But bro at least played when he could.
AD is def injury-prone but he always stayed in great shape and didn't constantly flop around like a fish, two things Embiid does that contributes to why he's always damn injured.
I'll keep saying it until it catches on. You are not a Superstar until you show you can be the best player on a championship team. You can be a hall of famer without ever being a Superstar. The Superstar label should be sacred.
Lol so kobe wasn’t a superstar in 01 and 02? He was 1A 1B with shaq so what are thoughts on those circumstances what about ky in 2016? Who was outplaying the unanimous MVP?
Some of yall missing the point. Players can have superstar like stats or even seasons but until you show some tangibles (high performance longevity, championships, MVPs, etc) then you're merely a superstar calibur player. Russ has no rings but his consistency, record breaking seasons, and MVP made him a superstar. And even that can be debated. I agree to be considered a SUPERSTAR should only be a small handful of elite players each generation Personally I'd consider Luka a Superstar but someone most definitely can make the argument he's not. Then you have players like KD, Bron, Joker, Steph, Kawhi, Giannis, etc who are inarguably SUPERSTARS
It's funny how "the process" has got us two of the most entitled "superstars" in NBA history, in Embiid and Simmons. Maybe announcing beforehand to a bunch of young guys that they're going to be getting max contracts for the next 10 years no matter what isn't the best for their development
Simmons was never a superstar and isn't really entitled the dude has nerve damage in his back. He never really acts any sort of way when it comes to basketball. Ur only saying that cus of his contract and how he didn't wanna be on the sixers after the whole team threw him under the bus when embiid was getting dominated by Clint Capela and John Collins
@@Sqeaky6969 I would even go as far as saying that Embiid (and Doc Rivers... don't get me started) are the reason for the Ben Simmons' downfall. We all know what Embiid said about Ben on national TV - we can only imagine what Ben had to listen to during training. For someone with the mental issues Simmons has shown to have, this is not an environment to thrive in (playing in Philly probably didn't help either). Embiid then went on to do the same with Harden and Maxey like a year later.
@@bobbobson8087as a raptors fan, I genuinely believe the sixers would’ve won the 2019 chip if Giannis was on that team instead of Embiid, the sixers were an incredible team in 2019
As a life long Sixers fan every time I heard someone say "Trust the Process" I wanted to barf. The "process" was the greatest basketball franchise "Treason against a Fan Base" every committed. They stole ticket money from the fans for years while they committed sports fraud. And now the Basketball Gods have struck back. The process bore nothing but the Markelle Fultz, Ben Simmons, Tobias Harris failures and now we have Embiid committing the same fraud against the fans along with his own teammates, with Paul George (Tobias Harris 2.0) next to him as an accomplice.
People slammed the clippers for letting PG walk but now I’d say they were crazy smart for that move. My opinion PG is overrated and Joel is not an alpha leader. If I’m the Sixers I blow this thing up and build around the young guys. But you probably can’t trade PG with $50m a year so good luck
Easily in the running for worst superstar playoff performer ever, that'd probably be between him & Harden, and the fact he's always injured AND possesses no leadership skills. I'd like to hear a candidate who'd be considered worse.
@@GoliathGTX his toronto days were pretty lit, but the term superstar is kinda overused. i was just naming him cause he was probably the biggest playoff dropper in a while for a guy who was great every regular season.
I think this dynamic is always going to happen with guards vs bigs. A 6'4" guard in the NBA is in the best 20 out of 10s of millions other players. A 7' center is in the best 20 out of a few thousand other potentials. Any NBA guard is an elite athlete, smartest player on the court, with an insane work ethic. The big just has to be big.

He cries for awards. He never in shape at all which leads to some of the injuries his fanboys in the media love to use as an excuse. He throws his teammates under the bus and lastly but more importantly he stinks it up in the playoffs. At this point it feels like now that he cried his way to a MVP he's content at just existing in the NBA and collecting a oaycheck. With so many of the All-time greats you always felt like winning a MVP was just a nice consulation prize on their way to the ultimate goal.
Been watching this channel for a long while now and the quality never ceases to amaze me. I never would have thought of that parallel with Kobe/Shaq for the Philly situation
What shocks me the most is that Embiid and Jokic were drafted the same year (2014, but Jokic still played one more season in Europe) and since then Embiid has missed 373 regular season games and Jokic 53. Jokic played 4 seasons more than Embiid even though he entered the league one year later.
You obviously wasn’t watching the league at that time. It was given to D rose because Lebron was hated for going to Miami but D rose was HIM. Lead his team to ECF with luol deng as his second best player. Nobody was upset he won. He probably would’ve had more, injuries just got the best of him.
Derrick Rose at least had an argument why he should win on that season. It just his career turns out not to live up his MVP season. Embiid won because league don't want Jokic or Giannis to win for the third time even using racism to downplay Jokic. They even purposely don't talk about Giannis just to build argument why Embiid deserved it
I think someone like Embiid is a perfect example of how "less involved" or more "casual" nba fans sometimes just have better takes. Like we are all gonna look back at Embiids career and be like "yeah he didnt really add anything to the NBA, didn't really do much, and his MVP is only bc of voter fatigue." Lets be honest, if you played basketball in the east coast for the last 3 years and you aren't a celtic or jimmy butler, you simply don't matter. Even the knicks are objectively not a good team. Take that team last year, put them on the west coast, they're maybe in the play-in.

Every time Embiid is brought up, there still seems to be a selection of fans trying to stand for him. He progressively gets worse every month and their take every time is "feel bad for the guy" bc of injuries and narratives. Too. Freakin. Bad. The guy's good at basketball and that's about the only thing he has going for him in the public eye. I honestly hope the 6ers never win a thing with this dude on the team.
I remember that they said one of the reasons he deserved MVP was "he led the team through the Ben Simmons saga" lmao 🤣🤣☠️☠️ I still get a good laugh out of that one every time
this guy only survived in the nba as a "superstar" because of the ref help, the way philly fans and the nba have acted like it's anything else was always bullshit, it's painfully obvious if you actually watch the game, then you have youtubers like bballbreakdown saying he is a genius offensively because he jumps awkwardly or early or off the wrong leg when he drives, so much bullshit to justify this guy's game
I really like the comparison between Maxey x Embiird and Kobe x Shaq from a dynamics perspective. It's coming to the end of the road for Embiid these next two years unless he steps it up
The Kobe/Shaq dynamic was an interesting and insightful way to analyze the Joel Embid situation, a surprisingly apt comparison. You actually took a different angle to the usual Embid criticism
Let's be real. If Embiid and the Sixers made it to a Finals they'd be swept. Embiid would be a no show with the lights too bright, and every postgame presser would be Embiid throwing Maxey under the bus.

yeah but i don't think either is going to help you win a championship purely based on availability
Don't compare this guy to harden man. Prime harden got super close to a ring in 2018, Embiid just chokes consistently throughout all these years, not even showing flashes that he could do damage in the playoffs. If he couldn't win with prime Ben, JJ Reddick and Jimmy Butler, he won't win with nobody
@@phamlong4210 saying that it was close is maybe only true on paper, but the way they played it was pretty obvious that the rockets weren’t gonna win the finals
@@slightexagHis point is that Kawhi already proved he could be the best player on a title team. When Kawhi is available, he still cooks in the playoffs. Embiid had one 50 point game last year and a game winning three two years ago, and that's been about it. The fact that he's yet to make the conference final is just uproarious.

At least Embiid makes the NBA media look like a joke with their terrible MVP pick. Only reason they picked Embiid is because they did not want to give it to Jokic 3 times in a row.
Jokic did win an MVP that year, the finals, but yeah he should have 4 straight
the thing about the joker, he'll make everyone better ..... if tobias harris played in denver,he probably won't become a disaster with that huge contract, bcuz the joker will put him a good situation where he can score & as long as he ain't lazy & runs with him, he'll get some shots ..... 😂🤣😂🤣-🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
they did it because the race card got played and pushed him over the edge of jokic
And Jokic didn’t give a sht about losing. The only place he cares about winning is on the court.
@@sblumenstein6688 yea but it's not just about Jokic. It is about how professionals should be professional in their judgements of players.

Just think about that mindset. "Trolling other teams and fans". Is that what you want you're team leader to be doing?. He's dog water.
Crazy thing is that everybody swore this was AD when he had his injuries which was never true 🤣💯

@@0vern9KWell said
So Luka isn’t a Superstar, but Jalen Brown is?…Okay
@@atraina6921bro nobody said that Luka wasn’t a superstar, he 100% is 😂
Some of yall missing the point. Players can have superstar like stats or even seasons but until you show some tangibles (high performance longevity, championships, MVPs, etc) then you're merely a superstar calibur player. Russ has no rings but his consistency, record breaking seasons, and MVP made him a superstar. And even that can be debated.
I agree to be considered a SUPERSTAR should only be a small handful of elite players each generation
Personally I'd consider Luka a Superstar but someone most definitely can make the argument he's not.

Embiid about to be the worst player to win MVP overtaking Derrick Rose.
D.Rose is way better than him overall compared to this crybaby Embiid.
and he didn't deserve to win MVP
You obviously wasn’t watching the league at that time. It was given to D rose because Lebron was hated for going to Miami but D rose was HIM. Lead his team to ECF with luol deng as his second best player. Nobody was upset he won. He probably would’ve had more, injuries just got the best of him.
@@ray1992507 He just means worst as in accomplished the least. Even D Rose got to the ECF like you said compared to this legit fraud
Always nice vídeo Bro! You are one of the best nba content creators... But as Spurs fan, I noted how the 2003 MVP TD was not among the guys taking taking the most shots. True Legend

I’m a big Lakers fan, and even I was rooting for Philly to do well this season. It feels like they’ve been in the worst possible situation forever. They have superstar talent, they just always get hit with bad luck or sticky situations.
And as for Embiid, I’m a fan of his game, but not his talk. He trash talks KAT and other players but doesn’t even have a Finals appearance to back it up. Yeah he has All-NBA appearances and 2 MVPs, but he always shrinks when the lights are at their brightest. And he can’t blame his coach either because I think Nick Nurse is one of the better coaches in the League. And now Maxey is calling him out for always being late to practices. Like I said, I’m a fan of his play style, and I’m rooting for him to add a Larry O’Brien trophy to his accomplishments, but right now he’s just underachieved and underperformed when it matters most.
