Hi guys ! A quick lil q&a 1. Song is feelings by Dana (HE IS AMAZING) 2. I bought the fabric from Joanns craft & fabric store, it's called red & metallic cackle by a brand called keepsake calico & cost me 36$ . 3. In total the dress cost me about 40$ bc + thread & zipper. 4 THANK YOU ALL SOO SO SO MUCH FOR BRINGING THIS AMAZING POSTIVITY INTO MY LIFE! with all these wonderful comments!
I mean don’t bring down other people to bring another up? This person literally just followed a tutorial. There must be hundreds of the same dress out there in different fabrics
lmfaoo i work at joanns and recognized that fabric instantly. i didnt think anyone would be able to make something cool out of it but im shook!! we have every color of that metallic cackle for anyone wondering. (at least most stores should)
For a seamstress who only has a little experience you did an amazing job. The fit is fantastic. I have 40+/-yrs experience and have yet to tackle anything that doesn’t have an preprinted pattern. Brava!
@@christellencl9860 lol no you're good, it's Italian (although since they both come from Latin you might have something similar?). The only reason I know is because I had an Italian choir director
You should be extremely proud of yourself for having the patience to make a dress this beautiful! I know I for sure don’t have the skills or patience to do it. Love when people have the dedication and make things happen
A little circle skirt would be cute and easy to make, especially if you do a handkerchief hem so you wouldn't even need to cut a circle, just leave it a square or rectangle depending on the look you want. Then maybe a crop top or a shrug to match, depending on how much fabric is left, though it should be enough since you're tiny.
Omg it came out so good! I want to learn how to sew buuuuuut my mom hasn't gotten my sewing machine set up, apparently she's been too busy for 3 years 🙄😭
For most sewing machines you can find the instruction booklets online as long as you know the name of the brand and what type of sewing machine you have (theres probably a sticker on the bottom of the sewing machine with them on it), you can try to do it yourself! Most of it is very well explained, the only thing that can be a little hard is getting the bottom wire up with the top wire, that might be a couple tries so be patient :). You got this!
Jasmin Garcia omfg girl, there having so many comments about him & what song this is I love it sm, I kind of want to making a video abt him so we can all unite
That fabric is so freaking gorgeous and I think the dress shapes fits you really well. I love dresses that are shorter I’m the from and longer in the back. Well done!
How?? Amber literally just super glued stuff to a dress with literally little to no sewing. (Still love her though) This was from scratch a dress!! Keep reaching lol
ohneilio I think she glued most stuff because some people don’t know how to sew and or don’t have a machine and stuff lol. Plus most of her stuff is for fun and and probably won’t wear any of it. 😂
This video popped up on my recommended and I had to come back, I watched this a few years ago and fell madly in love that I went to learn how to sew so I could recreate this dress. I completely forgot about this but have got to the point where I can sew ideas in my head confidently. If it wasn't for you I would have never tried learning how to sew so thank you xx
I have the opposite problem when it comes to the breast size on dresses. I have a small waist and large hips and a large bust, basically an hourglass shape. When I go dress shopping it's aggravating trying to find something that's small enough around the waist but large around the hips and bust. Most have to be custom designer dresses which are usually unaffordable.
Buy a dress that fits your largest area perfectly and then get it tailored to fit everywhere else or do it yourself. That's the best advice I've heard for any body type. Of course, you need to be conscious of styles you can do it easier with, but it works and saves you tons of money, especially if you do it yourself.
You did so well, especially on your first dress! You should keep making dresses! Seeing how you were so proud of yourself, you could make more better and detailed ones! Not saying this one isn't pretty, cause its absolutely stunning, but just imagine making more detailed ones, I bet they'll be great!
I bet it'll look great! If you make a video about that one too, I'm sure everyone will love it :) Good luck on making it by the way! All my best wishes to you ❤️
That dress is so pretty. I love fabric scraps because I sew for my dolls/bjd. I wish there was a way to collect all the fabroc scraps from people when theyre done instead of them tossing it away
As someone who has been seeing for most of her life (44 years, yes I am old enough to be your mom) I am impressed. You are very talented. You did an amazing job. I came across your video looking for DIY sewing videos to share with students in a sewing summer camp and I am so glad I did. You look amazing and you did an amazing job creating your one of a kind dress. I hope your prom was magical.
GURRRRRRRL! i know you're really young and idk if you care for design but for someone who has NEVER made a dress, your creation - including fabric choice - is amazing! you hv an eye for the "wow-factor" and i could def see the potential in making a name for yourself w/ designs like these. i mean, yeah u used other tutorials for the pattern but using this material just sets you apart from the rest ;) GREAT WORK!
Wow thank you so much, actually before this video I never considered fashion design, or recognized what I did as talent. I really appreciate you telling me this
At my school in Perth at the end of year 11 we have a “river cruise” which is a less formal sort of celebration and then in the first week of year 12 we have what our school literally calls “year 12 ball” don’t have anything else in high school that’s that major
Great job! I might try to make my formal dress (In Australia we have our graduation in November because our summer holidays are through the end/start of the year so our school year starts in February) but I'm thinking of having a blue tulle kins of fabric with some lace over it maybe? That might be a bit ambitious, but you've inspired me all the same :)
TOTALLY IMPRESSED. For someone that doesn't sew you did a BANG UP job kiddo. You looked fantastic and I think it was very brave to start off with a piece with an invisible zipper!!!!! You're a natural!
Your dress is STUNNING! I wish I could start sewing clothes but my sister doesn’t even want me to breathe next to her sewing machine (she hasn’t even opened it yet??!)
beautiful dress, though personally I would have just made the top fully red w/ the bottom having the fancy fabric, just to break up the pattern. Great job regardless!
Actually, it's cotton. I'm in joann' s all the time and the calico keepsake collections are favored by quilters cause their cotton fabrics and they have a wide range of patterns and colors. I like to use them for my garb for cosplay and renfaire
It's pretty nice... I would not say it's what I would wear to prom, however on you it's beautiful. I like the color.. I don't really like the top of the dress, but GOOD Job!

Aaaw omg thanks!
Mercury i imagined barbie saying this
I mean don’t bring down other people to bring another up? This person literally just followed a tutorial. There must be hundreds of the same dress out there in different fabrics
Tony X it’s literally a joke that was made over a year ago. They weren’t bringing anyone down just to bring her up.

@Killing LiarPLL metallic cackle
@@sab979 the fabric type, like satin, cotton etc

Oof, this would such a phenomenal fabric in dark blue.
You’re dress came out so amazing! It flows so nicely. I know you’re going to SLAY at prom. Have fun
Montoya Mayo aah thank you!! I really hope to see more sewing videos from you!

Is it even french ?
@@christellencl9860 lol no you're good, it's Italian (although since they both come from Latin you might have something similar?). The only reason I know is because I had an Italian choir director
What I’ve learned from this video is that I need to learn how to sew
Rebekah Vellekamp I litterally never sewed anything in my life before this video 😂 ( except for my thirfted transformation video) but that was a mess
how do you learn to sew..on a sewing machine, you just put it there and it does the job for you .-.
Kat Black you have to know how to thread it and know what speed, buttons to press, etc
Rebekah Vellekamp iii
Rebekah Vellekamp same 😂
this could be legit high fashion
Ty

I want to make my dress for prom! except in Australia we don’t have prom and the fact that I’m 13 right now...
I thought there was an equivalent to prom called formal?
Aura Rodriguez Gomez I think there is but my school isn’t having one
You’ll do it early on in year 12
in Australia we call it "formal."
