Epic video and unbelievable generosity Matt. A great sign of Lee & now full focus ahead. Really looking forward to following the exciting future of 9Werks.
Ahhhhhh amazing! I cut the video when you rolled up to respect your privacy. It was awesome to chat briefly, thank you for stopping, and following up here! I hope (and am sure) you guys had great fun on your trip, the 997 looked awesome.
Thanks to those who joined us to watch this 'live' as part of our first RUclips premiere! I hope you enjoyed the film, thanks for your continued support of the channel.
Respect to the owner of the car for his generosity. It's a rare thing for someone to be happy to put some miles on their desirable cars let alone let someone else do it!!!
Amen to that. Without such generosity I wouldn't have been able to do this trip, let alone share it with the community. Matt's kindness has brought good things for many.
Total 911 has been high quality throughout, you’ve made that happen Lee. What a send off , thanks for taking us on that final emotional journey, it had everything . Sending the final edition off the rear spoiler of GT3 RS, class act. With 9 Works you’ve set up the future for you and us ,your merry bunch of Porsche fans.
@@GrooveTasticThang that’s very kind of you to say! Thank you. I’m pleased you’ve enjoyed, and hope you’ll stick around for more Porsche fun going forward.
Incredible film. The road trip format is where you shine Lee. What a shame about the magazine but 12 years in print journalism for a man of your age is impressive in its own right. Bittersweet. Keep up the great work.
What a fantastic film, congratulations Lee. This rivals some of Henry Catchpoles best work. Such an informative, candid and open spirited piece of work. The poetically fitting end to Total 911 magazine being sent from the wing of a GT3RS was superb. I am positive your future will only get brighter. Thank you to Matt.
Thank you Lee for your love and reflection on the beautiful car named porsche. Having 4 porsche cars in the past 986,987, 2 996s my resprect and love for porsche will always have a special spot in my heart. My next car after i graduate will potentially be a humble bmw 640d, a mix of power, economy and sportiness, but it will never match a porsche's aura and memories that my porsches brought me are always remembered with a big smile.
As a car nut in his mid-50s, watching print media going away is heart-wenching for me. I grew up addicted to car magazines and have no interest in reading them online. I do enjoy RUclips for its automotive content as I've always enjoyed film media, but I will never accept a book or magazine that I have to read on a screen. I will very much miss Total911. 😥
Matt - I bought my first Porsche 991.1 last year and have bought Total 911based on your writings. You have provided this reader with a great deal of pleasure with your articles and shared experiences. Your down to earth approach will stand you in good stead and I trust you will land on your feet. I wish you the best with your future endeavours and remember you have brought great pleasure to a number of Porsche enthusiasts. I pray you God’s speed for the future.
What an amazing video Lee. As viewer from your early RUclips days, it’s by far the best you’ve ever done from already high standard. Great content, scenery, humour, emotion & cars. Honestly it has everything and I was glued from start to finish. Top top work my friend 👍👌
Big thanks to Matt, whose generosity enabled Lee to make an epic film. Also, good luck to Lee on his future plans, I am sure he will be successful in whatever path he chooses.
What a fantastic watch for a Friday evening. This video had beautiful images, insightful commentary, and a cracking view into a personal journey. Thanks Lee, you're doing amazing work, and are inspiring me to get out there and drive my car all the more. Well done!
Sorry to hear about Total 911. I have been a subscriber for years and have always appreciated it and always looked forward to getting the next edition in the mail. Best of luck on your next steps. You have carved out a niche with your insight and personality that has many future applications. Whatever you do, don't forget the 996! Keep pushing!
Nice video. Sorry to see the end of Total 911, a magazine that kept me entertained and informed on many a flight. I fully agree with your observations on the 991.1RS. I’ve been road tripping with mine for years and taken the obligatory pic on the Furka Pass and in Reims many times.
WTF? No more Total 911 magazine.... I am gobsmacked! The only person that might be happy about this is my missus because it's not another English car magazine turning up in Florida every month after we moved here in 2008. And yes I did bring the full magazine collection with me along with every issue of Evo (and Performance Car before it). ALL the best for the future Lee and I would love to see a collaboration with you, Henry Catchpole and Harry Metcalfe!
Wow, what a video. Loved it. Looking to get a 991.1 GT3RS next year so this was very handy. Really enjoyed T911, so well done on a great career. All the best. Cheers again
Great video Lee, and thank you for being so open and vulnerable around recent events. We all need to talk about how we are feeling, and what’s going on in our lives. Unbelievable generosity as well, well done Matt, long live the DNHC, and LWBs 😁
Thank you Lee for this wonderful (and emotional!) road trip. Yes, lucky you, but putting a full stop to your magazine must have been truly painful and sad. On the bright side, having done so at the wheel - or rather the rear wing - of this smashing 991 GT3.1 RS is like saying Mission accomplished ! You are a 911 reference and your followers of which I am will always be grateful for what you share with them. I wish you all the best for your next chapter and look forward to discovering your forthcoming 911 adventures 🙏😎
Fantastic video, Lee! Thanks for taking us along this great journey. Also thank you for your contributions to Total911. As a (now sadly former) subscriber I loved the magazine. I wish you well.
Thanks for another great video. Really felt the highs and lows of your journey. All the best for the next chapter and rest assured that it all works out in the end. 🙋🏻♂️👍🏻
What a great video Lee… had everything, an amazing journey, story and a fitting final chapter. Looking forward to more and no doubt the next exciting chapter for you 👍🏻
Onwards and upwards Lee, recall meeting you at a Richard Attwood Q&A event you moderated a while back - honestly you are just great at what you do. Boundless energy, enthusiasm and Porsche knowledge. Wishing you every success with 9Werks. Whilst I have every issue of Total911 from number one in the Phil Raby days right up to 249 (why couldn't they at least have let you get to 250?), have loved reading it over the years and am sad it has come to an end, printed media really isn't the future. You can be rightly proud of your time as editor though, always top notch quality and in my view by far the best specialist car magazine. Loved this video - stunning scenery in one of the all time great Porsche GT cars (and colours!) and what an amazing selection of cars assembled in one place - plus the noise of that flat 6 on track - pure joy 🙂
Thanks Chris for your kind words, they mean a lot. Not having an issue 250 will always bug me and, I suspect, I lot of others. It goes to show there is no room for sentiment in business!
Incredible Lee. RIP Total911 if this is what you are going to bring! Just superb! All the best for the future Lee. Massive thanks to Matt, buy this man a beer, actually a bottle of single malt would be appropriate. What a very kind person. Fantastic footage, track time, swiss mountains and even a drive past my swiss family's home. Well done.
Fantastic video! I’m about to change my current 911, and after watching this, it looks like there’s a car that I really should be looking at as a replacement.
I’m a Jaguar driver F type R AWD 5 litre V8 I love my car and we tour Europe every year but I still like to see other marques and their drivers enjoying their cars , nice video
Ah mate !!! That was an emotional watch. I’ve been waiting for this, and it was even better than I hoped. Given your almost unparalleled experience of 911s I respect your opinion above just about anyone. Great video. Makes me quite nostalgic for the road trips we did together across Europe in 2018 and 2019 to Spa and Abbeville. Sad news about Total911. Your tenure at the magazine made it what it was for many years. The cover of edition 165 still takes pride of place on my garage wall.
Thanks Warren, it's thanks to the kindness of owners like yourself that we were able to make such great content for so long. That I get to call you a friend is also a fantastic consequence of the magazine's existence, of which I will always be grateful.
Really sorry about T911. I’ve been avidly going through back issues since I got my 996 and have really enjoyed it. I’ve no doubt greater things are ahead for you and your channel. Another great vid.
What a great video, brought back so many memories of driving my now gone Viper Green 991.1 RS on all of those roads I’ve also done them in my now gone viper Green 997.1 RS and as good as the 991 was the 997 was way more fun I sold both and went to the dark side with a 458 Speciale, I do however miss my old Viper Green duo 💚💚
Thank you, sounds like you've had some amazing experiences on those roads, with proper Porsches too. Hopefully you'll be back after your Italian adventure!
