Monday Morning is a great dress and I really like this hack. I've seen a few lightweight wovens and I wasn't quite sure how to use them (because I'm scared of buttons!). I'll keep this in mind.
Love this! Looks like another pattern addition. Your videos are so helpful! I try and watch one of something I'm going to sew, you have such great info & tips and you've made me really comfortable using clips in lieu of a million pins LOL
The only thing with the circle skirt is that the circle still has to fit over your body to put it on. I would do a test run to see if it's wide enough to fit over your head and shoulders.
Instead of gathering the skirt, couldn’t you stretch the bodice to match the skirt and let the knit fabric gather the skirt? It seems like the way you did it the waist won’t be stretchy now.
Once the gathering stitches are removed it’s very stretchy! Gathering it with gathering stitches create more of a gathered look than just stretching it. I prefer to do 2 rows (one at 1/4 inch and one at 5/8 inch) of gathering stitches at a 4 or 5 mm length and then sew in between those rows. It keeps the gathers very neat. Afterwards you just pull out the gathering stitches and it’s super cute and still very stretchy.

I would like to add a zipper on a cowl. In the middle (zipper) to give it a look. Thanks
Another great job!
Thank you! Cheers!
Can the Monday morning dress hack a sleeve from another dress and if so which other pattern with sleeve?
So basically when doing a stretch like that you just pull the gathered thread out afterwards coz I was wondering also if it's still stretchy...
Love how it turned out. Great video
Cute, and you know if Bo likes it-you are rocking it!! :+)
He is so stylish!! ❤️

Do you think a woven fabric circle skirt would work with a knit bodice since there's stretch in the bias of the circle skirt?
The only thing with the circle skirt is that the circle still has to fit over your body to put it on. I would do a test run to see if it's wide enough to fit over your head and shoulders.
cute cute cute
Thank you! 😊

yes, technically you could do it that way but the look would not be as even at putting in a gathering stitch. ❤️
Noticed you did not use clear elastic at the waist on this one. I wondered why you chose not to do it.
Since it was a light fabric I didn't think I needed it ❤️ usually you want to add it when the fabric might pull and make your garment sag ❤️
