Great job...I just wish the skirt was not black for the demonstration. Nothing against black skirts...just hard to see what you are doing specifically when you fold and tuck things. You just cannot see where or what with the black fabric ...although you explain it well. :)
Perfect! I'm just making the tulip from some lovely checked wool, but it's a bit scratchy so I thought I'd line it to make it soft against my skin. I was a bit unsure on how to do this with the pockets though, so this tutorial is perfect :) I think I'm going to try doing the waistband that sits against my skin from the lining also, so fingers crossed that works!!
Thank you for the video- in particular I was wondering about a project repair on a long skirt- the liner made the outside fabric buckle- so I took it apart then realized I wanted to hem liner and skirt seperately- this felt correct- you reinforced this for me , thanks. I subscribed and clicked the bell
I really love your tutorials. They are so helpful. Can you make a tutorial on how to sew with unprinted patterns. For beginners these patterns seem overwhelming and we could really use a tutorial on how to sew with unprinted patterns from reading the instructions, to pinning & cutting to sewing it together.
Great video, thanks 😊 could you please confirm at what point you attach the zip ...... before the lining or once you’ve attached the lining. I’ve never done a lining before 😁
I am just about to try and make this skirt and would like line it. I really like the idea of using a fancy lining like you have, do you sell this? Do you know where I can buy it. Can you see it through the material! I am also going to use Black Crepe for this skirt.
Thank you Lisa for this very informative video. I always enjoy watching and listening to you. I would really like you to please explain making clothing which has been cut on the cross (bias). It would be nice to learn why clothes are made this way. Is it because they drape better? Thanks. Best wishes Ann in South Australia.
thanks so much for all of your video's and tutorials. they're great! I'm absolutely useless at hand sewing so any advice or a tutorial on those kinds of techniques would be so useful! :-)/
I wish you would take the time to explain what you meant by the edge of the lining being folded over when doing the zipper. It was not verbally clear and it went too fast to catch. Black was not a good color to use as the tutorial. Also, when you attach the lining to the skirt at the top, do you have the darts going in the same direction or do you make them opposite so they lay nice? As a beginner beginner it would be helpful to explain the obvious better.
Thanks for the tutorial, I'd love to make a black skirt like that too. One question though, would a rayon lining stick to tights or is it ok to wear with tights?
For a beginner a little bit hard to all understand. Also, I didn't understand how you can get into the pockets, since they are under the skirt on the lining and the sew on the skirt isn't open.
As many have mentioned before, black is hard to see and please go slow and very close with the camera, when you demonstrate folding something. When you fold things on the table one cannot really see what you are doing and that is a shame.
I would love to see how to line an already made skirt without ruining it ! X
Thank you for this. This is the simplest tutorial I’ve found on lining a skirt.

I love that the lining is a pattern!!
thank you! I'm upcycling a pair of trousers into a skirt and want it to look as professional as possible :)
I don't understand English because I am indian and your stitching are very nice thanx
Great little video - thank you. I wasn’t sure as to whether to catch the lining in the skirt hem but you explained that beautifully.

Fabulous thank you. Just found you and have subscribed. Ihave had 2 skirts to make for 2 years and now feel confident to make them and add a lining!
just found lthis. thanks for the clear instructions.
Thanks for the demonstration. This is quite useful. Do you have a video on how you made the light blue dress behind you on the left? It is gorgeous.

Lots of great, helpful information. Thanks!
Thank you for the video. Could you please show us how to work with chiffon?
This is EXACTLY what I needed! Thank you!! 😍
Great video, thanks 😊 could you please confirm at what point you attach the zip ...... before the lining or once you’ve attached the lining. I’ve never done a lining before 😁
This was helpful! You explain really well!
What a great idea, can't wait for the rest of these tutorials, thanks!!

Is there another video showing how you inserted the zip as the video skipped this part?
Thank you!! Got my answer here. Great video. 🥰🥰🥰
OMG, I've wanted this tutorial for so long!!!

Lovely! Thank you!
If your not doing a zipper, you can sew the lining all the way that’s what I did
Lovely tutorial. I was wondering what machine you are using.
Thank you for your tutorial! I'm looking foreward to your series!
ColorBloX when do I put the zipper in

So you have a video how you made the dress to the left behind you and how you lined the dress also
Very useful. Thanks!
Hi Lisa, Thanks for the great video. Can you also do a how to with inserting pockets in a skirt/dress or trouser? Xx
For a beginner a little bit hard to all understand. Also, I didn't understand how you can get into the pockets, since they are under the skirt on the lining and the sew on the skirt isn't open.
Veronica FATA the black is the outer layer and the pattern is the inside layer, meaning the black is on the outside of the garment
Hi, would I do something similar if I am making a skirt with a faux front button placket?
Very useful information.
Thanks Lisa!
This skirt is perfect. I would really like to learn how to make it but I'm still kind of unclear after watching the video.
Same.
The video was about adding a lining to the skirt. She made the skirt in a previous video.
Thanks for sharing.
Hi Lisa :-) thanks for this tutorial :-)
What pattern is this?
Its hard to see everything you are doing because of the pattern of the garments

I wish that I could sew.
you just show us things by mouth! lets see what you are really doing. stop hoarding knowledge
