Do you find the mini LED holds it's own against the OLED 49? Been debating on what to get and leaning on this instead of the OLED G9 mainly because of the resolution and I like a more agressive curve.
The pros of the 57 (size, brightness, clarity, curve, extra pixels, no burn in) exceed the benefits of the OLEDs better blacks and more vibrant colours.

How does it feel G9 Neo 57 compared to G9 Neo 49 in games, if you play games sitting closer to 49" (around 80 cm) and farther away from 57" (around 1 m) to compensate for the size difference? 5120x1440p can look almost as sharp as 7680x2160 in games by using DLDSR. It's a question more related to the size difference. Is it like the difference between 27" and 32" or is there not that much of a difference due to the wide width?
There's a big increase in the perceived size difference. Because of the perfect curvature, you don't really need to sit any further back like you would with a flat screen. You can sit at the same distance and be more immersed, and enjoy the improved clarity thanks to the higher res. I honestly don't think I could go back to the resolution of the 49" now. @@toc-tech OK, thank you. Understood that the size difference is great. You can also compare G9 Neo 49" in games with DLDSR x2.25 (or x1.78) and G9 Neo 57" (without DLDSR obviousely), the clarity will be almost the same (of course, some very fine pixel size details will be lost compared to 4K but not that much to be obvious (?)) I suppose because 32" 1440p and 32" 4K behave in that manner, here we have even a bigger difference in ppi (27" 1440p vs 32" 4K). DLDSR is turned on in an NVidia control panel, then the bigger resolutions are available in games.

I bought a top of the line macbook pro last year, with M1 max, bummed it can't power this monitor as a single screen. I wonder if mac will ship an update, or if with the right cable it would work.
I know, it's incredibly frustrating. Unfortunately I don't think it's a matter of cables, it seems to be a limitation of the chipset. It's making me consider upgrading (reluctantly) to M2 Pro or above. Good luck!
@@toc-tech darn yeah same; sad to have to upgrade so soon but having full native resolution on that screen would be sweet. I don't have the monitor (yet) but if something changes and you are able to use the m1 max with a single cable please let us know!
@@PunkSage my understanding is that you can only get full resolution if you plug in two cables; and then the mac treats the panel as if it's two 4k monitors side by side, which will give you slightly noticeable transition down the middle of the screen. if you use a single cable I think the highest resolution you can get is 5120 x 1440 with an m1 max.
In theory they should - if mounts exist for 65+ inch TVS, then it should be doable for sure. Just search for TV wall mounts rated for the same weight. Good luck!

Ergotrons can handle the 49. Not sure any desk arms currently handle the 57. Wall-mounts for very large TV's could probably handle the 57 but I'd go by weight rating just to be sure.
I use the 57 for Excel and I love it. Also for most applications 1440 is just not enough, so I'm glad I could replace my two 4k displays and get rid of the bezel in the center.

After buying PS Vita OLED and Switch OLED, I started to doubt whether it is worth buying the G9 Neo 57" solely for gaming. For work, I am sure that it is better than G9 Neo 49". Even PS Vita OLED 5" is quite comparable to the Switch OLED 7" in gaming when you get it closer to your eyes, and gaming on Switch OLED is very impressive and comparable to PS Vita OLED. When playing, you don't think about the size of the display, but rather pay attention to the aspect ratio, it is very important, even for small displays (smartphones mostly have 20:1, for example). So, I'm convinced that 49" is almost as good as 57" (there's a certain difference for sure but it's not that substantial and it's rather like ps vita 5" vs switch 7"). For resolution compensation for games there's also DLDSR in 49" but even switch 7" OLED is very impressive to play, almost like using a big display 16:9 (in terms of interest and immersion) because its display is very close to the eyes.
knowing the 57" exists I would not even consider the 49", especially given that it's basically 2 side by side 27" 4k monitors and with the 49" you're still dealing with the ppi of a 1440p monitor and the limited height.
Hey i have a question, i have a 4090 but i dont think i can run this monitor at native resolution in aroun 120hz/fps? So if i decrease the resolution to the 49" like 1440p how bad gets the image quality? the problem on LCDs is that you have to run in native resolution or the screen gehts really blurry.. also the pixeldensity on this screen can't be really good, does it? Big Screen is nice but i want image quality over all. I mostly play games btw. :D
The pixel density at full resolution is wonderful. Very sharp and crisp. At 1440p it is of course going to be blurrier and less crisp, but will allow those faster 240hz refresh rates. Honestly, I'd reduce the games graphics preset before I'd reduce the resolution (so medium instead of High/Ultra) and I think that'd look better than dropping the res. Hope this helps!

I think 49" but 1" higher would be my perfect monitor. I agree, for me personally every time I have tried a 32" it has felt too big so that I have to put it further back which actually has felt slightly more taxing for my eyes. 49" horizontal space is perfect, but just a tiny bit of added height would do wonders, but not as much as 32".

Is it worth it for you ? I have the 49 G9 oled as well and hesistant on trading for the 57 inch
@@Ssjmonkeydbankai_Uzuneel so i have postponed my decision for now by a few months. I want to see and experience a large OLED curved screen once somewhere and then take this call. Have heard that the OLED screen experience is like magic so this in-person feel of it would help. Also want to get an RTX 4090 before getting this to make the most of it from gaming
@@ishannamansinha881Did you buy a monitor?
I bought a top of the line macbook pro last year, with M1 max, bummed it can't power this monitor as a single screen. I wonder if mac will ship an update, or if with the right cable it would work.
I know, it's incredibly frustrating. Unfortunately I don't think it's a matter of cables, it seems to be a limitation of the chipset. It's making me consider upgrading (reluctantly) to M2 Pro or above. Good luck!
What's the result of connecting it to a MacBook M1 Max? Do you have a half of the screen?
@@toc-tech darn yeah same; sad to have to upgrade so soon but having full native resolution on that screen would be sweet. I don't have the monitor (yet) but if something changes and you are able to use the m1 max with a single cable please let us know!
@@PunkSage my understanding is that you can only get full resolution if you plug in two cables; and then the mac treats the panel as if it's two 4k monitors side by side, which will give you slightly noticeable transition down the middle of the screen. if you use a single cable I think the highest resolution you can get is 5120 x 1440 with an m1 max.
curious if they make a wall mount for the 57" I have not found a mount that can handle the weight. Has someone seen or recommended one?
In theory they should - if mounts exist for 65+ inch TVS, then it should be doable for sure. Just search for TV wall mounts rated for the same weight. Good luck!
Great comparison!
I am considering getting the 57" primarily for Sim Racing - The 57" is now on sale in Denmark.
I am using a RTX 3060, i5 7600 (non K) and 24GB DDR4 RAM, and have NO plans on running 4K and over 120Hz while gaming.
1080p ultra and 1440p medium with 60fps-100fps is the sweet spot for me while sim racing.
Will this be possible on the 57"?
Thanks for the kind feedback. I think it'll be possible but the clarity would suffer if you're running a 1080p resolution... Might be better with the 49 if you don't plan to use the 2x4k resolution any time soon. Hope this helps.
Hi did you get the 57? I'm also considering it or the 49 for simracing
@@Thiagoofficial85 No, I suddently lost interesest in upgrading the monitor - I'm still using my BenQ 35" EX3501R 1440p curved monitor, which is a great monitor.
Maybe I'll re-consider upgrading after a year or two.
@@Thiagoofficial85 input lag of 57 is 1ms the 49 is 0.03 ms !!👀 both on sale here in switzerland for 850
@@StarFox85I ended up getting the OLED 49 inch 2 weeks ago. I’ll upgrade it to 57 when they release an OLED version😊
I have a 49" in 3840x1080... if I get this monitor, can I still run the same resolution (basically half the native resolution) and achieve the 240hz res ? I am really interested in the real estate more than the resolution, for gaming.
Depends on computer and cable, but if you can run that res and refresh now, you'll be able to run it with the 57. May not look very clear though, I personally wouldn't recommend it.
@@toc-tech thank you for your answer
PPI MATTERS ALWAYS.....SAMSUNG FINALLY GETTING IT ! I used a G9 49" for 2 years and I SCREAMED ...WHYYY SAMSUNG DON'T MAKE IT LARGER WITH MORE VERTICALLITY AND RESOLUTION AND HERE IT IS. I may get this one when the price will go down to $1500.....for now I got an LG C3 OLED which is AWESOME.... They need to combine all the goodies and deliver us THE BEST LA CRÈME OF THE MONITORS. - GREAT VIDEO I WAS WAITING FOR THIS ONE COMPARING BOTH FLAGSHIPS THANKS!
can a surface laptop 4 run this?
What Arms can carry the 59 or 49?
Ergotrons can handle the 49. Not sure any desk arms currently handle the 57. Wall-mounts for very large TV's could probably handle the 57 but I'd go by weight rating just to be sure.
Would you get this over the Ark?
Yep, every time. So much sharper and twice the pixels to play with.
Should I get this? I have the 49 oled.
It's a great question. What's your split between gaming and productivity? And what's your GPU?
You should try amethyst for hassle free windowing, so that mostly you'll be using the middle of the screen instead of doing it mostly in either sides
Thanks I'll give that a try!
What is the depth of your desk?
maybe 25 tp 30 inch
I use the 57 for Excel and I love it. Also for most applications 1440 is just not enough, so I'm glad I could replace my two 4k displays and get rid of the bezel in the center.
Definitely build the sim rig 😆 still looking for a review about how this monitor is with ACC. Currently using the 49 inch version with a few comprises as ACC doesn’t support ultrawide screens like iRacing does.
I'll try to do a quick video on ACC in January - stay tuned. Let me know any specific questions you have on it.
ACC most certainly supports ultrawide....
@@drunkhusband6257at the moment I am running my G9 as a triple screen and have to accept the occasional vertical lines, I did try running it as a single screen but even with projection correction the image. Of the two I feel the triple screen setting is better overall. Could you share you settings if you are using a G9?
I don't have my Original G9 anymore but what settings do you want to know?@@bobsimpson5886
@@toc-tech that would be great, frame rates, and whether you preferred running it as a single or screen or triple screen
What desk is that? And is the screen too close to your face think?
It's am IKEA desk, and no because the screen is curved perfectly the distance is great.
Thank you, do you have a link to the desk? Or the desk dimensions (depth mostly, because that's my concern with only a depth of 24 inches on my current desk). Think i'm going to have to get one with at least a 31.5'' depth.@@toc-tech
i've been waiting for a 50" with higher pixel density because i can't fit this 57" monstrosity in the room. doesn't seem like it's coming though
great video. thanks
Most welcome. If you have any questions on the monitor just let me know.
How can we get 7680 x 2160 resolution with Apple M1 Pro
You can't, sadly. You can do 2x 3840x2160
In Picture-by-Picture mode.
If we do 2 3840x2160 can I extend the display so that I can have one app open and it take up the whole screen or will my only option by spilt screen of 3840x2160
How deep is your desk?
80cm or 32inches.
Thanks @@toc-tech
Not making the 57" version QDOLED was a huge mistake imo
CES is just around the corner...
This monitor is so niche as it is. Making it Oled would make it even more niche. Plus, mini leds are amazing. Not as amazing as Oled but honestly in my experience it is well close enough. And the higher brightness is amazing when looking at a sunrise in Star Citizen for example. I have to turn brightness down since I get blinded otherwise.
I can't go back from OLED, even the best mini leds look hazy by comparison@@SquarelyGames
@@drunkhusband6257 57" mini led vs 49" OLED you would probably compromise and in bright games the brightness on mini-led displays is up to 3 times higher than on OLEDs, it's very significant.
Damn I just got the 49 coming in tomorrow but not I want the 57 damn you 😂
I may go triple 57 inch. 🤔
Personally if the 57" was around 144Hx, 1440p, and had a 800R curve, it'd be perfect.
Hope this helps!
you CAN ofc run this at max everything, nvidia gpus have dp, just not hdmi 2.1
Incorrect. Nvidia GPUs (even the 4090) cannot run this at full resolution and full refresh rate, sadly.
@@toc-tech oh okay, that sucks. from what i could find the only way to run it maxed out is with an amd gpu over hdmi 2.1?
Compliments for measuring
I want a 57 4k oled
I was looking for someone to measure this thing with a tape measure to see if it even fits my desk and unfortunately i will have to go with the 49inch
This isss craaazy(well 49 is still huge)
No thx, I'm pretty happy with my G9 49" , as I set to close to my monitor
I think 57" will be way big for me
Enjoy the 49" brother
PBP at 120hz works just fine with my two PCs. As long as you aren't using hdmi1
Really? I'll have to give that a try, thanks for the heads up.
32" 16:9 was too tall. It's not an endgame monitor. It's a monitor that has gone too far.
What's your preferred monitor size?
@@toc-tech The 34" 21:9 is the best form factor for singular tasks and is much better supported for FOV than super ultrawide. The 49"/27" fits much better in eyeline at arms length.
@@DOGbackwardz Disagree -- I have the 57" and it's a significant boost from from the 49" for all of my use cases from gaming to productivity. 34" 21:9 makes me claustrophobic.
I think 49" but 1" higher would be my perfect monitor. I agree, for me personally every time I have tried a 32" it has felt too big so that I have to put it further back which actually has felt slightly more taxing for my eyes. 49" horizontal space is perfect, but just a tiny bit of added height would do wonders, but not as much as 32".
to enjoy gamingin this thing you will atleast need 4090
Agreed, although you can drop the resolution but then what's the point?
Or you can use an upscaler.
This is not for gaming. This is for Racing simulator and Productivity. Don't ever call this a gaming monitor.
