    The setup for the punch at 3:09 is as masterful as it gets. Fake left hook, Khan throws jab, Bud counters with an overhand right before Khan gets his right hand off. Perfection.

    2:28 I always have to slow that down how he got that right hand over after Khan's jab. Khan was one of the fastest punchers. Bud is an absolute beast. He knows how to judge the range. Has incredible footwork to go in and out. Makes boxing an amazing art. Defensively and offensively.

    • @B-Rad_99
      @B-Rad_99 Год назад +20

      Bud is a master at countering the jab. That's one of the reasons Spence couldn't do anything against him - all of his offense comes behind a heavy front loaded jab and once Bud took it away Spence was reduced to just trying to force his way in which is exactly how Crawford wants you to come at him.

Khan's chin was one of the last things on his long list of weaknesses. The punches that drop Khan can actually drop many other boxers. I don't think his chin is the issue. He has taken many BIG hits and continued to fight when most would be out for the count. It's his defence and haste to make up for being hit that are his downfall. He leaves himself so open and exposed against counter punchers, he doesn't switch things up and so a lot of knockdowns are when he's fully committed and every punch is like a sucker punch, he is never in a position to roll with a punch or take away the force of one. He wears his heart on his sleeve and it's his strength but also his weakness. The commentary team called this fight in the first round, Khan was just too predictable regardless of how good he is offensively when he smothers opponents with fast flurries and pressure. He gets baited too easily and doesn't appreciate that people's timing can counter his speed, especially people that can counter fast.

      This is very true. Every Amir Khan loss had happened due to him switching off after having the better of the fight before then. He didn’t get a sniff in this fight. The first round knockdown clearly recalibrated his crosshairs a bit, but Crawford was so controlled, it was always going to be him. The 1st round knockdown just removed the ‘what if AK landed an overhand?’ Question from the outcome. If it wasn’t going to happen in the first 5 rounds when AK has his ‘turbo’ hands, it wasn’t happening. TC smashed the turbo with the knockdown! I revisited this after last nights victory over Spence, and hearing AK’s comments about missing Crawford by an inch every time - you can see it. He only had his gloves on Crawford properly 3 maybe 4 times, he was mainly punching the air either side of his head!
