Great TR ! My favourite parts are the Lounge and Food/Drink on board. I always feel a bit self conscious when taking photos on board or in the lounge so a big thumbs up from me.
On the subject of the cabin food, and considering a) the price BA charges for First, b) that First rarely seems to have more than a handful of people, but even if it was full, c) the extensive choices of starter and mains, and d) the relatively small plated portions, what is the protocol for your meal order? Are you allowed to have more than one starter, main and dessert - or even as much as you'd like - if it were available ? There are many reasons why some (including myself) might choose to do this, but is this allowed or gently encouraged? I'd hope so, within reason of course.
It is just unbelievable how quiet these engines are. When you lined up for take off I thought ok the engines have spooled up to 50%, any moment now they will set take off thrust. As the seconds went by I realised you were already there! I suppose you had the best seat in that respect though. Wonder what it's like further back

PS: not a rich guy, I'm a civil servant and I drive a Nissan Micra. And if first class travel is costing you £3k then you need to spend more time on Flyertalk :-D

As a Qantas Platinum I recognise that carpet from all 3 of my home lounges worldwide! When did you fly back? I've been back two weeks also flew 2135 and had 6 hours at the LAX Lounge. My flight was 3 hours late, but as compensation BA allowed me Concorde room access before my Madrid flight 36 hours later and arrivals lounge access on an EU flight. Blown away by great ground service but didn't enjoy A380 First, QF and Cathay all the way. Where's your next destination? I'm back to Madrid this weekend- A330 IB both ways business. Great video as always!
AH, next destination will always be a mystery :-) But let's say there will be two upcoming videos featuring the LATAM 787 and the IB A330 in Business...should be good ones!

There must be one or two about, either in the lounge, or during boarding, or in the cabin. The channel owners must all be a decent sort choosing not to be intrusive :)
Indeed, the costs aren’t going to be helpful for most people. They do fluctuate massively and depend on a number of factors, not least the fact I never start an itinerary in London. Most of my itineraries are complex and use intimate knowledge of the fares system.

I'll be honest: I'd fly first class for the seat. Fancy food makes no sense because even though it's exquisite, the portions are small. I'd also ditch the booze list cause I do NOT drink and go for an economy meal (if it's any good).

Another First Class report ! Very Nice. I love many things about this trip, you flew from TBIT which is a terminal I now really enjoy, you flew First Class and it was the A380 and you had seat 1A. Pretty much a really enjoyable trip to take. Was it Bumpy flying over Nevada at all ? The food looked good, no complaints from me. What was your pre-landing drink ?. You had a very nice day to land at LHR, better than most of the cloudy / rainy days. A wonderful trip report, thank you for posting. Nice one, from my understanding BA GGL needs 5,000 TP ? That's a mighty amount to achieve in one year. The BA gold card will be nice when the new First class security terminal is finished next year.
First class and BA ....Oxymoronic ! At best it's equivalent to a good business class just like BA Club World is barely better then many premium economy services on top airlines. It can't be compared to real first class airlines go fly Etihad, Lufthansa, Swiss, Cathay, Singapore etc and it will show up just how bad BA is in f.

Every airport is going to have it's good days and bad days. I did LHR to LAX a few months ago. Took me about 90 minutes.
