I love takeoffs and landings. It's the 5 to 10 hours in between I don't care for. Had the pleasure of flying with BA on an A380 a few years ago in first class sleeping berths. I used the last of my mileage since I'm retired, plus a little cash. Was totally spoiled, and unfortunatelly won't be able to do it again. But it was a nice round trip ride from San Francisco to London.
Thanks for the video. We are having our first first class experience in to Boston on the A380 and then back from New York in a few weeks. Looking foward to the concorde lounge and some wine tasting.
Thanks for watching and super excited that it's your first first! Make good use of the Concorde Lounge and LPGS! :) And try the dine together - it's not often you can do that
the space is much appreciated, although too short, flying BOS-LHR, in 2023, due to headwinds, knocking off an hour of flight time.similar menu when I flew the A380 last year from LHR-Cailfornia. ( the burger was better than something in a restaurant ) when the plane is refurbished in 2025, there will supposedly be less seats in First ( articles have mentioned, only eight ) The Concorde dining felt hurried, similar to an eatery turning over tables, when I visited, and wished I had chosen to dine on the terrace, which was less busy, and did not seem to be time sensitive. safe travels
I agree about the flight time - a longer west coast flight would have been nicer to experience it. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with the A380's. They have the space to do soemthing really revolutionary (for BA) with first class cabins. If they do reduce the number of seats, lets hope the overall space remains the same and we see a true first class suite emerge. If any place had the space for it, the A380 has! Thank you for watching and commenting :)
Great video! :) I would like to ask how did food selection work, I saw in the video you tried many different foods, so you can order as many food as you want?
as as standard you get two meals and as we were travelling together, we were able to show more of the food on offer. The main meal is 3 courses of which you choose, again providing additional options. With regard to you last point - if they have the food available and you wanted more, I'm sure they'd be happy to make it up for you, but only after everyone has eaten I would imagine. Thanks for watching :)
The new BA First Class Suites are a nice. Hopefully BA will refurbish the First Class cabin with the 380 refresh programme that’s been recently announced 😊
Do you mean the suites with the added doors? I'm sure I read that they are adding all the new club suites to the A380s, so it would make sense to do the first cabin at the same time. Here's hoping :)
Nice review! Is there a more 'marmite' airline than BA? Most reviews seem to bring out the haters! Yes, we all know that the old Club World seat is dated now, but it was ground breaking when it was launched 150 years ago 😅 I did a redemption trip to California from London in January and the outbound was in First on an A380 to SFO. My companion and I did the buddy dining thing (like you, we were in 1A/2A) and, by choosing to delay our meal for a couple of hours, we got a very attentive service (as no one else was eating at the same time). The food and wines were good, but the service was the epitome of 'First Class'. Maybe we were lucky with the crew that day. Our return was from LAX, but I'd chosen a flight on a 777 with Club Suites, so that was good as well! And, as per your answer to another poster, the new First suites (with doors) are in recent new 777 deliveries, and are being retrofitted to other airframes, but not the A380 fleet, as yet.
Thank you Peter ☺️ A very good way of summarising them! Our best and worst flights have been with BA. I suppose that come with the territory of being such a large airline. This flight was very pleasant ☺️
Majority of bad reviews mostly coming from the french guys, or some haters, for me brings some joy is people speaking English, yes, and meeting some former butlers that worked many years. AF is very snoby airline, avoid that.
My husband and I just flew BA first class from London to JFK. It was a horribly disappointing flight due to a very outdated cabin. It was nowhere near exclusive!! It’s no wonder BA now enjoys a very low rating.
I didn't like the first class with that airline, they should open more space in the first class seats, it looks like business class, it's not worth paying first class with that company,👎
There is no real significant difference from Business class if you are not bothered about the food. Not worth the extra money from what I found out when I flew first class recently on a 6 hour journey.
It’s fascinating that people assume because BA uses a reverse herringbone in its First cabin it is ‘more like business class’. There is no comparison. Comfort and space are entirely different. If you’ve flown both, the difference is very apparent.
Agree with you with the cost there. This was an Avios 241 redemption so cash wise was only slightly more than a normal priced economy ticket. We wouldn’t pay the normal price they charge for First. Either avios or super cheap sale price 👍
The BA 143-142 was a piece of shit aircraft and the service it provided. Rude air-hostess except a few. 787-8 was not worth my money, 8k in business. Fly Emirates, qatar or erhidad
Great video........food looked fantastic!.
Hey, thank you for watching! The food was ok - not a bad way to fly at all :)
There is no walk of shame when you are in First Class -- Just a walkway of delight
That should be on a shirt ☺️
Great, simple review. Cut straight to the point. 👏🏻
Thank you! We really appreciate the comment and glad you enjoyed it :)
Nice review. The chandeliers in the first class lounge.. haha
Must mean it’s posh, right? 🤣

Never say never! We both love the A380 and such a shame it is on its way out. It's such a quiet and smooth aircraft to ride on. Thanks for watching :)

@@Tims_Travels yeah I read into it it’s definitely happening very exciting!
Is there a gym onboard to work-off the all the food and drink!
🤣 Nah - I just asked the crew to do some laps for me 💅

Can I ask what brand is the backpack you showed in the storage locker?
Of course - it's a Bellroy Tokyo Totepack Compact. Link here: amzn.to/3D8HfDI
Awesome! Expensive 😬
Thank you awesome
Damnnnn this is much better than those spirit planes I fly on lol
haha - neither of us have flown Spirit but as long as it gets you where you need to go. Mostly 🤣
@@Tims_Travels true lol

What would you like to see change in the cabin?
How did you find the soft product and crew attentiveness? Thank for watching! ☺️
Surely wanna stay sober to enjoy the experience?
We enjoyed it very much thank you 🤩 ☺️
The footage is quite jumpy

I’ve often heard BA First referred to as the worlds best business class offering 🤣
Excellent service though
There is no real significant difference from Business class if you are not bothered about the food. Not worth the extra money from what I found out when I flew first class recently on a 6 hour journey.
BA are the worst airline I’ve ever flown with. Their business class is about the same as Ryan air cattle class 😅
I’m sorry it looks more like business class. The food looks nice, but again nothing spectacular for first class.
Service was what made it. When BA nail that, they are one of the best
It’s fascinating that people assume because BA uses a reverse herringbone in its First cabin it is ‘more like business class’. There is no comparison. Comfort and space are entirely different. If you’ve flown both, the difference is very apparent.
How would you rate the clothes the first class passengers were wearing?
Doesn’t really matter. Everyone’s given PJs they can change into
Does it matter ? It is not a fashion show and one should travel in clothes that makes them feel most comfortable on a long plane journey.
Absolutely 💯
Are You a snoby Air france guy or what, those snobs make a scene of people wearing different clothes, while their uniforms are just ugly.
Trying to remember if I've ever seen a more useless question asked in public!
Thousands of pounds for a fwe decent meals and a large seat...not for me...

Why do the people who make these videos always groom , dress, look, and behave as if they are going to their local Waffle House for supper?
Doesn’t matter how you dress. What’s a waffle house?
@@Tims_TravelsHuh? Does it matter if a person wears pajamas to the local mall? Of course it does.
🤣
Portland OR to Heathrow direct flight Food is AWFUL and service not great.
Food looks disgusting

8k?! wow! - thank you for watching all the same 😊
