I ordered one of the little side storage pockets for the dash. My 2015 and 2016 had storage there that I actually used. My 2011 Raptor... nada. This actually works for what I like to store there. Mine came with additional tape, I used all of it and it’s stuck to the lower dash pretty good. Thanks for the recommendation.
Like that “L” track. Going to have to get some for the rear of my truck. To bad there isn’t a plug in Bluetooth connector for the radio. You could use ear buds or something that you like. When I was in the field working. We’d buy blue tooth adapter jacks, buy some old school headphones 🎧 take them apart, put the speakers into our peltors.
YeH, that would be awesome. But they have some funky input and output requirements that most standard non race type headsets just don’t do. Will need to get creative on the next one. Won’t be pretty but it should work.
Should do the rear window defroster mod as well while the seats are folded down. jumper wire on the defroster connection. Gen 1's have been known to blow the rear window out when defroster is used.
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad I don’t actually know why it does it but it’s a thing. It’s way less common than the fuse 27 issues but it’s an issue with Gen 1’s. I did it as it was a risk I didn’t want to take and I don’t use my rear defroster anyways. Something to look into. Just google Gen 1 raptor rear defroster. You’ll find some links for blown out rear windows
Question on rust before next episode I moved my Gen 2 raptor to Sweden from Middle East. We have super salty roads like US Canada in Sweden. I went to the American Ford import expert here and he said don’t even waste your money on protective coating just let it be. Would you agree?
If you plan to offroad regularly, you don’t need it. The sheer act of off-roading sand blasts all that away. If you plan to daily your truck, no off-roading, then it can make sense to reduce rust. But mainly only need it on the frame. Can and everything else is aluminum
I’m using the magic power switch. So I use one wired to constant power, one to a key switched power and ground. The magic power combined with my camera will detect the on state of the truck and enable full recording when on and time lapse when off
Great video! Have you moved/removed/replaced the bulky box Sony sub to get all of that back seat floor space opened up? My buddy put a flat sub under each seat. That Sony is always in the way!!
Thanks! I learn a ton with every video! I’m going to get that seat release and look into sub options mounted back there! My dog also hates the sub on the floor…hehe.
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad yeah my Ac blows Hard now, and cold, i have to keep it in fan speed 3 to barely be okay, i have sat in other gen 1s and have yet to see one with this hard of blowout strength so this might be why
Agreed man. It’s a major flaw and it’s not helped by a glitching auto AC system. Mine is constant glitching and staying on at high speed, or just barely blowing. I have to either toggle the temps, or toggle Max AC just to get it to wake up and perform right
Super Nice Video! I love all the detail you go into! I was wondering for the Raptor SVT lineup what Chase racks do you recommend? My dad and I are looking for a chase rack for ours with mountable light places!
You looking to do shocks thru the bed eventually or just want to carry gear? For just gear, 454 motor sports makes a great rack that is easy to remove for regular day to day loads. Next up is Forged offroad s rack. Really like their rear tire setup. If you plan do to shocks thru the bed, look at RPG and SVCs kits. Not as flexible but will set you up for the next upgrade. Lastly, don’t be afraid to go custom if you can’t find what you like. I did on the last trucks and got exactly what I wanted. Will be doing a custom rack for this truck eventually on top of the SVC rack
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad My dad stated that no he does not want shocks thru the bed as of now. Maybe in the future yes. I told him about SVC kits and he says they look super great because I should photo of it and some parts of the videos you have on the SVC kit! Been a fan of your channel for more than a year now. Finally bought my ruby red gen 1 three days ago. It has 3.0 kings in the front and fox long travel shocks in the rear which is a bit odd to me. I'm learning a lot from you channel and I wanted to thank you for the videos. P.s. I'm also in California and the truck has headers on. I need to buy a cat in California, right?
Don’t cover up the hole. Those vents are designed to release presssure that builds up in the cab as the temperature changes. They must still allow airflow
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad so I’m thinking of using an Airaid air filter to use to cover the holes what a the dimensions of the hole? Do you know if there is something I can upgrade my SYNC system to 3 or 4?
There is a guy on the Facebook groups that’s does them, with the same parts for like half what those big shops are charging. He’s all over the forums. Forget his name. That’s the route I would go, to save money.
Thanks i ordered that little cubby. A question I've had for a long time. It's concerning super charge or turbo charging engines. I love the 6.2 but ever since the beginning when Rousch or whoever would upgrade that motor it never seemed like it got insane HP and or power, yes it increases it but how are they getting 775 out of a much smaller displacement motor? Also the V6s end up with insane power. Is it the original way the motor was designed?
I don’t know enough about all that honestly. My guess would be what each engine can take and making reliable power. 6.2 can be supercharged to just over 500 hp and be reliable. Ecoboost can do the same to just under 600. But big numbers both reduce the life of these engines big time. Those 700hp aftermarket trucks don’t last on the road long
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad I agree on the dependability and that's kind of the reason I'm hesitant to do any upgrades, I do feel the more middle of the road is the best of both worlds, my wife and I are in such a different world, as to what we use ours for, that said it does get old having to floor it all the time to get it moving. Maybe some tuning might help??
A tune would help a lot, the supercharger adds power but still can’t avoid giving it more pedal to make it go. It just does it faster when you do. A pedal commander can help, but I’m not a fan of foolers like that. Seen too many guys get problems with codes and going into limp mode because of them
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad I don't mean to keep bothering you, but what do you think about 5 star tuning? I have seen a couple of videos where guys seemed happy with them, and it seems like they really know Ford Trucks.
Your hear good and bad with tunes. 5 star I’ve seen guys swear by them and others hated them on the Gen2 platform. I really don’t know enough about them to comment as I’m usually a keep the engine stock kind of guy unless I go with a supercharger specific tune.
I need more of a headset base. I can’t use the mics that comes with most system. Has to be a very specific mic. So I need a headset that allows me to clamp on the PCI specific mic.
🤷♂️ he’s never seen any details on his truck or have seen him come out on a run even though I’ve asking him to come out. Just based on his comments here I know he’s a total poser. Until I see him on the trails or he shows his real name and account with me, which he hasent so I have no clue who he is. But based on his comments he has no clue what he’s talking about. And if you think the best feature is the lights, that tells me all I need to know of you. 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you for going into all the detail this is a great way to learn about doing it yourself
Thanks man
