Challenges in Rural Vaccinations | The Story of Local Healthcare Workers in India

Vaccination attempts during the pandemic were met with challenges in mobilisation and shortages around the world. In rural India, the problems were magnified with the ANM and ASHA workers (recipients of WHO’s ‘Global Health Leaders Award’ in May 2022) facing the brunt.
In this story, we spoke to ANMs stationed in a small Indian village about the unique set of obstacles they faced during the COVID-19 vaccination drive.
