In the navy in 1982 Great Lakes IL, they used pneumatic injectors for some of our shots, they hurt quite a bit, we all got sick within days with tons of phlegm and mucus, they called it the "Ricky Crud" .
That was my experience. I got extremely sick and was immensely sore and uncomfortable. I'll never forget those air guns.

Ahhh, there is just something about watching that needle go in that makes me cringe everytime. I'm not afraid of shots but watching it go in has always been hard for me

@Gojida - Yes, I believe so. At Cape May, the pneumatic guns had about four different needles in them.
When I was in Navy Basic Training in September of 1983 at RTC San Diego we had the Jet injector air guns for receiving our shots. We would line up and get shots in both arms, ahhh the good old days, these kids have it made. Best of luck to them “Anchors Aweigh”
Skittles Anderson They still get shots in both arms. The corpsmen stand on each side of you and give you the shots at the same time.
Technology has improved, so the use of jet injectors are obsolete.
Skittles Anderson they stopped using those because of cross blood contamination between sailors. They spread AIDS and Hepatitis. Blood splash back went back inside the gun to shoot into the next person in line.

Basic training in 68, we had no idea what we were getting but I remember the pneumatic guns and we had a guy on each side of us, they would toss in a syringe-like a dart, we would step forward and two other guys would push the plungers.
They sent us out for PT right after the shots and almost killed a couple guys. Took them away in ambulances. Seems we were supposed to go rest right away. They did give us all the next day off though. Most everyone was sick. Exciting times!!
I hated the waiting part. I would’ve ran but I knew my RDCs would stop and beat me on the spot 😂😂

Back 2010 the HM hit me in the wrong spot. Ruptured tendon had to get it again 3days later and walk back in 2 feet of snow.
The US military depending on branch has between 91 to 97% Vaccination rate...this is a non issue

@@ranelgallardo7031 I think both are allowed but it’s super hard to get a religious exemption... But I could have heard wrong too. That being said though, it’s super hard to get a medical exemption. You’d have to have some pretty solid proof that you can’t have vaccines (or certain ones) and even with that hard to obtain solid proof (since most vaccine reactions are not reported accurately or even followed up on), finding a doctor willing to write an exemption even for a patient with solid proof of a reaction is near impossible. It’s a whole mess with these vaccines and big pharma controlling our medical care. Basically I say, if you have done your research and don’t want to get the vaccines, don’t join the military. Lol.

I didn't see them draw blood in the video though. They do it to everyone at MEPS before you go to boot camp.

Yes the guns were discovered to have blood blow back into them which could be deposited into others in line and spread hepatitis and other diseases.

All recruits get all the shots no matter what with the exception of any documented allergies
@@ToyotaTom04 I thought you had to give your recruiter your immunization record, and then they see you at basic and then they give you the shots you are missing.
@@ToyotaTom04 I went through in late 2019 and they didn't give everyone everything. They check you vaccination record and that's what the blurred out stickers on their chest are, it list which ones you still need.

Well then you’re probably not for for the military. They immunize new recruits cause the government can deploy them to places with a disease outbreak and this makes them battle ready. It’s also a preventative measure against bioterrorism.

They had those when I went too. Per bumed instruction they’re not authorized anymore.
I read up on it. They stopped using them because of cross contamination of HIV and hepatitis. There was a blood splash back that couldn’t be cleaned by wiping it with alcohol or changing out the injector cap.

I was a army medic. Worked at the pit for incoming soldiers and these days were eventful. Lot that goes into. From instruction to shots to medical records and dna card samples on all. Pit and emergency room were my spots. Enjoyed my MOS not so much the politics but i enjoyed being in the service. Hindsight 20/20 wish i had did 20 instead of just 8 years.

They’re given updated medical records with the vaccines they received. But as far as what individual vaccines they’re getting and when, yeah idk if they tell them.

How many shots
MMR, Tetanus, Polio, Yellow fever, Andenovirus, flu shot (if doing boot camp during flu season), and Bacilin LA (aka the peanut butter shot). So 6 or 7. Plus new shots during your military career depending on what countries your duty stations are in.

18 if you don't already have any prior vaccines, it will now be 19 with COVID being added to the list. That said almost no one needed all of them since it's rare not to have some already.

In my personal opinion the peanut butter shot was completely overhyped like yes it was sore for a few days however the arm shots hurt worse

Back in my day, they shot us with these weird needle guns; each gun had about four different needles. There four were corpsmen on both sides of us: step forward and BOOM; step forward again and BOOM! Still waiting for my autism to kick in...

@@raymond2136 Actually you can. Vaccines can trigger dormant genes and cause various problems. I got a vaccine when I was 11 and developed autism a few hours later. Experiencing your brain changing like that is weird and horrible. I’m one of the lucky ones though because my autism isn’t very bad. Most people are fine with vaccinations, but some aren’t. That’s why it should always be a properly informed choice.

Several shots are required to join the US military cause you’ll be deployed to places where disease outbreaks could be a thing and you need to be battle ready, you’ll be working in close proximity with people (military bases and naval ships are mass gatherings by default), and it’s a bioterrorism counter measure.

Oh boy, an anti-vax. It's not poison. Its a vaccine, a weakened form of the virus or disease they inject for. It helps your immune system identify it and when you actually get the virus, your immune system has enough information to fight it. And about the heavy metal part, the only heavy metal is Mercury, used in Thimerosal which is only used in Flu vaccines as a preservative and to stop microbes. Even then, there is a little amount of it, not enough to cause any damage. also, Thimerosal is a compound, meaning that its a bunch of different atoms strung together, this changes the properties. It is processed by the kidneys and is ejected in your waste. Take salt for example, the formula is NaCl, 1 sodium atom with one chlorine atom, when separate, it is poisonous. When together it is a good seasoning for meats and other foods.

While receiving one of these vaccines at a time is fine and the levels of heavy metals are processable for most adults (though some people still may have issues with it), receiving large numbers of these vaccines all at once can cause the body to be overwhelmed and then unable to rid itself of the toxins. Most people are fine, many get sick later that day or the next day, and some suffer life altering reactions or even die from it. If you noticed they said that there was no talking unless you or a person around you needed medical attention. That is because they know people can have reactions to it. However it isn’t just the heavy metals that are a danger. Vaccines can trigger dormant genes (similar to the way trauma can as well) or even interfere with autoimmune disease and cause reactions that way as well. Even if someone doesn’t have autoimmune disease or a dormant gene, they can still suffer a reaction as every person’s body is different!!!
There’s nothing wrong with being “anti vaxx”... You’d be surprised to know that most anti vaxx people aren’t against vaccines, but rather would like to see them handled with more caution. That is why a lot of people have gone away from the term anti vaxx to using things like pro choice, informed consent, and anti mandate. We understand that vaccines can do a lot of good, but we also understand the risks and feel that it should be each person’s individual choice as to wether or not you want to get a vaccine.
That being said, when joining the military, you are making an informed choice that you consent to all these vaccines, and understand the risks associated with them. If you don’t want that, then don’t join.
I hope that one day, we will be able to develop a test or series of tests to determine which vaccines are safe for which people, so we will have a world where no one has to experience a horrible life altering reaction as I did.
