Heck, some of her biggest counters were effectively shut down by Boba, and are now back on the menu! Not just that, but it's two similarly archetyped decks (yellow and red), rather than FOUR different archetyped decks that each required different counter plays.
Wow, this is crazy news, but I think it is wise and welcome. The stats show that Bobba was pretty oppressive in the meta. I have to give FF some credit for taking this bold step.
This is a big win for pretty much any other deck but I am looking at Sabine and Assaj specifically. This will also change a few things on how I will continue to play ECL Krennic Control.
I think it’s important to mention that during the stream FFG mentioned that now that Boba is gone decks can be constructed to deal with Sabine. I am sure Sabine will still be good, but not as good as it has been now that decks will be built to handle her.
FINALLY lol. I didn't even want to go to my last PQ because I knew Boba would just be so awful, and I wasn't willing to spend 300 dollars to buy a meta deck. I'll probably go to the next one with a more fun/casual deck, and maybe actually be able to win some games now + I won't be fighting a boba every game
I think its great. If you wanted to try a yellow leader with a handful of different aspects it comes down to boba or its worse. Now with a hopefully more healthy meta the other leaders like cad bane maybe even jango since he can utalize fetts firespray effectively

I was getting tired of testing decks against various Boba shells on Force Table to see if my decks could do anything. He was too ubiquitous. Shit, I found a PTQ deck that was basically my exact Cad Bane deck, just with Boba. And it was better for it.
@@madquest8 Heck, even if she's got a Darksaber on her, there are still plenty of options to beat her. 5HP on T3 is far easier to deal with than 7HP on T3-T4. Bamboozle eradicates the Darksaber/Wing Leader advantage. Sentinels muck up her game plan. Blue Hero restore mucks up her game plan. She's got so much that counters her, unlike Boba whose viable counters narrowed the metagame a LOT.
I joked about an ECL ban during pre-release. Hoping FF doesn’t do it after this. Though if Sabine fills that Boba gap, ECL use goes way up as a result. It’s a real possibility…

Boba should just cost 6 and then it would be mostly fine. Sabine should never get nerfed, especially when we already have new leaders with similar stats like ventress, and while she is strong is nowhere near problematic...ECL same thing, many green decks still use the 30HP base, meaning it's not and auto-include. If anithing, other rare bases should be buffed, since there is no point in using the 25 HP Yellow, blu, or Red base most of the time

Jango is basiclly that replacement the only card he doesn't really interact with in the deck is the armor but he still gets firespray. He's a downgrade but similar enough and if you just wanted to play boba fett as a charcter you got the hero leader too
So they banned boba for being a good midrange deck. But literally are okay with Sabine-i win by turn 3-4 aggro meta that has been super dominant from the beginning too...
Everyone who is saying "ECL is the problem" is right. I hated facing ECL in Boba Yellow Boba Blue and Boba Red, it really took all those decks to the next level.
We’ll set 2 isn’t a real set. It was maybe considerable to be half a set. So they haven’t had enough time to see if set 3 would impact it but alas, as a Sabine player I’m cool with it.
Imho this desicion os ridiculous. Swu dont have enought time tô ban any card, they wore LAZY, why not create counter cards? I dont play Boba, but o also never, nerver Lost against boba in any weakly and or showdown. Ok, its stats are a few better then others, and imo turn 6 was a great call to its deploy. Ban its not a solution.
@@aaronmanning5256 Your Millage May Vary. I played a lot of games against Boba Leader decks that could not use the Legendary Boba unit. Those games felt fun and went back and forth. Whenever, I played against a deck with the Boba Unit the games felt stifled and decided very quickly.

Alll the cards from boba sides 2 are still great cards. Yes armor and firespray are lot worse but those are cheap cards.

It was mentioned as something discussed and I can see it get put on the list eventually it only scales in power with more options
They are watching ECL but they believe the meta will be able to adjust to a strong Sabine ECL deck, which is not the case with Boba.
It will be legal in vintage once that format is invented in a few years. 😂

I think when/if they bring him back they should limit fire spray and bobas armor to 1 or 2 per deck

Boba unit was WAY overhyped and not even needed. In 20 games I got to use his ability once... usually he just dies immediately LOL
