- Another day, another pointless announcement from Disney Lucasfilm, for a Star Wars project that will probably never happen. In this case, a whole new trilogy of movies overseen by Simon Kinberg. What are the chances this will ever actually happen?

It’s weird how a decade ago, I was hyped for Star Wars. But now, I feel nothing but apathy
Same. Star Wars used to be THEE Franchise that everyone could be excited for. Now I just want it to stop.
As a wise old woman once said: "Apathy is death."
For me it is far from apathy. Now I get angry whenever I see a new project because I know how good it potentially could but most certainly will not be. And it just reminds me of all the damage SW has suffered during the years. It is such a sad state of affairs. The only thing that bothers me more is when I see what they are doing with my precious Lord of the Rings.
Apathy is death!
It looks they could afford to throw away more money.
I wont even pirate any of these.
The reaction to the Rey movie confirms that Star Wars fans have reached peak apathy.
They're still going through with the Rey film no one asked for?
Aren’t the sequels Rey’s story. Why does she need her own movie? She’s the Mary Sue of the sequels
@@LastSunrise1981 One writer quit already.
Reaction to the what?

The franchise is a walking corpse. Nothing they announce is going to make me watch Star Wars again. Let the franchise just die already.
Actually there is one thing. They could announce selling the rights.
Disney Star Wars is a Deadite zombie from Evil Dead. A soulless corpse.
Not even a trilogy of movies (on Earth) about how a Kirsten Kelly tricks a Jerry Lemas into giving her his ultra-successful franchises that Jerry created and invested his life into. Once Kirsten Kelly has the franchises, she ruins the franchises by focusing on irrelevant/conflicting goals and neglecting the quality of the movies under her hand. Kirsten wants to change the world but her actions result in "her" company losing millions of cash. This causes anger and arguments with her "boss" Rob Ivan who wants to fire her but cannot do so (either because of signed documents or because Kirsten knows where the missing bodies are). Jerry Lemas hating the franchises he created because Kirsten Kelly ruined it. Anger, tragedy, drama etc. One could even make a great tv show (instead of movies) out of the concept. It wouldn't be a happy show.
One could really make a good series "not based" on how existing celebrities and companies have behaved and existed... (Of course, this idea is not related to any living people or existing companies, so do not sue me.)
There are a still a couple good things here and there. Early Mandalorian and especially Endor was awesome. Those are SO much better than the trash prequels. But yes, the rest is garbage haha
@@wbae1340 I think you meant Andor, not Endor from Return of the Jedi.
Liam Neeson said about Star Wars in an Interview, "there's too much and it's diluting the magic of it all"
The only announcement I want to hear from that company is that KK has been fired, because that's the only thing worth celebrating.
The Navigators were right to not want a Beni Jesuit Witch in their midst.
She'll just make sure that whoever takes over has the same beliefs as her. Nothing will change when she goes.
That's not gonna fix it. All of Disney s higher ups are infected with wokeness, which inhibits storytelling.
The only announcement I want to hear from that company is that Elon has bought Lucasfilm from Dismal and will
Make Star Wars Great Again
Yeah and her successor will be a black trans gay eskimo that will amp the identity politics in casting and writing another notch. The problem is beyond KK, it's Disney itself.
Star Wars is dead. Let’s just accept it.
Been dead since 2005 when I left the theater satisfied after seeing Revenge of the Sith
I did ten years ago.
It's been dead since Disney bought it. Lol
Andor Season 2 comes out soon, after that it will be completely dead for me
Aside from Andor Disney can't produce good Star Wars for sure
It's just them trying to get investors and boost their stock
Imagine owning so many franchises but just keep ruining each one
Yeah but how many times can they cry wolf?
And it hasn’t worked in years. There is no excitement to manage or whatever they’re calling product pushing.
who in their right mind still has stock in star wars? i would’ve cashed out years ago
Exactly. "Disney earnings call coming up? Let's announce a new Star Wars project!" Honestly, how stupid _are_ Disney investors if they keep buying these announcements as good news?
As long as Kathleen Kenedy is in charge of anything, It will be ruined.

God yes, please make another trilogy. I want to see what happens when they lose money on the first movie, then realize that they either have to find a way to cancel a mainline Star Wars trilogy or keep shoveling money onto a fire. If nothing else, maybe it'll hasten the demise of Disney.
Maybe after the third, they'll finally fire Kennedy
Give her all the force you got, Disney! We believe it will work this time; afterall the money is almost gone...
And maybe we can Morbius them too while they're at it - "Sorry Disney, we were all too busy to see it when you first put it in theaters! We promise if you pay for another round hitting the theaters, we'll totally go this time." And then give them the inner city dad going to get milk and cigs treatment.
Sounds good to me fellas!
BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD, SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE! LET DISNEY BURRRRRRRN!
They say they paid $500m in advertising. Which doesn't really matter when Kennedy is on the board and receives quarterly bonuses in the 10s of millions..and can pay back her sponsors so they can sponsor another flop, but Kennedy will use her advertising company and make it back in bonuses..rinse and repeat.
Stars wars died the moment Disney acquired it.
Admittedly true in hindsight. The Last Jedi opened the eyes of the majority.
It died with TLJ, buried with Kenobi and then dug up along with being desecrated via the Acolyte.
You can see it on George Lucas's eyes after signing
Amen.
So true
Star Wars fans 10-20 years ago: Please more!
Star Wars fans today: Please no more!
LOL
"Please stop!"
"You can stop beating the horse, it's been nothing but bones for years."
I never imagined the day would come when I wouldn’t care about a new Stsr Wars movie. Yet here we are.
I was feeling the "no more" 20 years ago tbh. Classic trilogy was great, origin trilogy kind of killed it, which is why Georgie sold it.
Disney just danced around with the corpse of what we once loved making all of us feel horrified & traumatized.
Imagine a new in-law doing this at a family funeral, poor grandpa beloved monarch of the family who slaved through the depression building the family's wealth.
I remember waiting in line with my mom and cousin for Revenge of the Sith, we waited 8 hours and there were people camping and in cosplay all so excited for it. It was an actual event and a core memory for it, but now It's impossible to form any kind of care or excitement for anything Disney shits out
That was probably the coolest experience you had and I’m so sad I never got to experience, I was 5 at that time and I didn’t like going to the movies because it was too loud. When I did go see the new Disney Star Wars movies it didn’t have the same atmosphere during the prequel movies.
Me too. I saw all three in theaters as a kid. We waited for a few hours for phantom menace. We were playing the phantom menace soundtrack on the way there. Ppl dressed as darth maul waiting in line….good memories.
Remember when a new Star Wars movie was a cultural event? It takes a special brand of incompetence to take that pop cultural power and turn it into nobody giving a foch in just 10 years.
same thing happened to Marvel
I learned my lesson after the Special Editions. Phantom Menace only drove it further home. Fool me once, fool me twice. If you're still getting fooled, you're a special kind of something.
now even the reaction from the paid media is : "uhhh..... ooookay.... why?"
if this company was run by adults this would be the nail in Kennedy's coffin. Hate you can monetize, apathy not so much, and Star Wars has reached the point of complete apathy.
We should all put nothing but positivity in all the comments in every video, and then just not go see any of it.

"Who the fuck even cares?" is exactly how I feel about Star Wars now, thanks to Disney.
Hamill and Ford becoming a couple of Kamala simps sunk the franchise even more. My neighbors took down all of their Star Wars memorabilia and listed it on eBay after that pathetic Harrison Ford endorsement video. These actors literally see half of the country as facists, racists, and garbage. It's best not to support them. Anthony Hopkins said it best when he said that actors need to keep their political views to themselves.
EXCELLENT THE CRITICAL DRINKER 🍺 WORK.

@@salazam he clicked for the critical drinker content and not the star wars itself
@@theunknowman12 Nah, I don't think so. Nice try tho.
Disney took one of the most valuable IPs in history, with one of the most dedicated fan bases ever, and ran it into the ground.
At least in mainstream entertainment it is; but real dedicated still love the lore pre-Disney/EU.
The problem is they know, saying that is meaningless for them as they aren’t looking for financial success. It’s all about social engineering and THE MESSAGE
They took 2 down.... They managed to kill Marvel too! They sure are good at what they do!
Was it really Disney? I mean, people kept buying tickets. If people keep buying tickets of course they're going to keep making them.
@salazam They milked the nostalgia until it was gone. People wanted to like it but Disney's terrible storytelling and destruction of the lore drove more and more people away each time. They were going to launch 1-2 Star Wars movies a year, now they go on Disney Plus. Basically the equivalent of Straight to DVD. No man, they ruined it. They strangled the golden goose, giving it just enough air to keep kicking for a little while.

Man Disney is like a bad gambler. Keeps doubling down on the losses.
4:00 - 'you bent Star Wars so much that it finally broke' *THAT* my good man, is one hell of an analogy, and so true!
Disney needs to realize Star Wars is dead, and they were the ones that killed the franchise.
Same goes with Alien , Terminator, Predator, James Bond, Robocop, etc... they are all dead franchises since long .
Ahhh back in 2015 i was screaming how awful Disney SW was. The amount of copium invoked to overlook the awful mess that was the farce awakens. Good times because now, people are like: yes you were right. Because accepting awful movies first then rejecting them through share apathy second is the first step in healing hollywood so that in the future, we may once again get good movies.

GREAT THE CRITICAL DRINKER ENOUGH WITH STAR 🌟 WARS Announcement
Agreed - that's a real accomplishment. Well done Disney!
Star Wars works when it is a trilogy roughly every generation. The problem is the trilogies have to be good and even when they're good you can't just spam the franchise with absurd amounts of filler content in between. Video games and books are one thing, because they allow the audience to use a greater amount of imagination in their interaction with them. What Disney is doing with the film and TV overload is killing any and all hype for their next set of movies, and that's before you account how bad their trilogy sucked.
I would recommend getting through the first 3 episodes of Andor Season 1 but aside from that, yeah it’s dead
Disney's strategy has started losing its impact and it's honestly concerning. Let's hope for a more promising future for the saga.
No more saga. Scratch all other as non canon and wait 5 years. Try a different director and studio that could make qaulity script. No diversity bullshit.
They ruined the Saga back with The Force Awakens.

A long, long time ago when I was in college, our class studied Joseph Campbell and "The Power of Myth". A part of that is how ancient mythology informed George Lucas on "Star Wars: A New Hope", and how classic mythology tropes were used to make the story for that film interesting yet familiar, and involving for the audience. Today, I look at the Star Wars content being churned out, and I can't imagine any classroom finding any educational value in examining it, except for a business class looking at how a giant corporation managed to strangle a golden goose.
EDIT: Sly little "The Running Man" reference there, Drinker. Top notch!
Andor was good….and yes it contains educational value. 📜
Disney is not interested in mythos. They are interested in propaganda through their awful movies.
it's cool realizing Lucas pretty much ripped the story beats from Campbell's Monomyth, and how it basically solidified the OG trilogy as perfection
Yes! And its worth a mention that Campbell was a mentor of sorts to Lucas, personally. Campbell was not only a mythologist but also a Jungian, which lent the aspect of deep psychology to the mythic forms Lucas presented that captured us so well. I remember everything about seeing Star Wars for the first time, from the name and location of the theatre, to the sound that made me duck at the opening scene as the Imperial ship flew overhead. We were so innocent and so damn lucky..
The original is about humanity's attempt to understand itself. The current films are about humanity thinking that it already understands itself perfectly and only needs to express this perfect understanding. The problem is, the white male characters and heroes are embodiments of this first original aspiration, whereas the minority characters embody the latter.

That's modern Hollywood. Look at how many fucking superhero movies have been shit out over the last 15 years. If something works once, it will work even better the next 40 times, that's their logic. Who can blame them, though? Deadpool 7, Iron Man 9, Captain America 13, you'll still see it.

lots of people want Star Wars alpha nerds who think that a bunch of them screaming on the Internet makes them the majority simply don't want Star Wars and even then oftentimes they go see the movies anyways
@@yami122 First, punctuation is your friend and you don't need to be a nerd to use it. 2nd, you're missing the point. The fanbase is a shell of it's former self. Your comment would be right regarding the people who obscenely hated the prequals but the numbers for the movies dropped after TLJ and the backlash towards its critics. Mando brought hope back with the first two seasons but the numbers for Boba, Kenobi, and s3 dipped so bad that Andor was failing until word of mouth saved its numbers. Numbers for Ashoka weren't great since people were mixed and then Acolyte....yeah.... cancelled due to low numbers and only even has a tiny cult following because of hardcore fans trying to support it to "own the chuds" or whatever they say nowadays. Even then, they're just liking it for identity politics purposes out of obligation to their weird ideology that they share with those who made it. There's always going to be those who eat up everything star wars, but that number isn't as big as it used to be after the studio and actors constantly attacking the fanbase. That's the difference between the Disney Machine and George Lucas, Lucas never attacked the fans and accused them of being evil people for not liking the prequels.
@@ZarrethCrippled nerves prevent me from typing I use a voice recognition software and it doesn't really do punctuation very well
As for the identity politics honestly the opposite can be said as well people only hated the acolyte because of their obsession with identity politics and their weird ideology
It is a scientific fact that those who are lowest on social ladders are the ones who fear rising demographics the most and it's a bunch of loser nerds who can't handle that not every movie hero is a white man anymore and they flip out any time a movie has a woman
it's funny they rant about how every more way has to have a woman nowadays but the reality is is that women leads in movies and TV shows is still a minority and men are still the dominant leads in both movies and TV shows
Also honestly it's pretty arrogant to just assume people only like something to spike you instead of you know just liking it because they like it
a bunch of loser outfit nerds getting together and deciding their right doesn't mean other people aren't going to have different opinions on their taste in art and there's people who genuinely like the acolyte
Speaking of weird ideologies you have to be pretty pathetic to be going on to RUclips videos just to hate on something if you don't like the new stuff disney is doing with Star Wars why are you here why are you interacting with Star Wars in any way shape or form
see back in my day If people didn't like a movie or TV show they would just not watch it and don't watch the sequels instead of what you often nerds try to do and hate on a franchise yet for some reason still cling to it just so you can continue to hate on it instead of just moving on with your life
Honestly Star Wars isn't the problem the problem is the bigoted fans who feel entitled as if Disney owes them something And as if Star Wars has ever been anything other than a children's Series
Also you must not be aware of the fact that George Lucas sold Star Wars because of how horrible the fans were to him
This is why I'm so happy that they retconned the EU, because they've literally split the Star Wars universe into two distinct versions: Legends Star Wars and Disney Star Wars. So, as I've done from the very beginning, people can just follow the Legends version and just completely denounce Disney's as being really shitty fan fiction.

by announcing all these projects they are hoping that something, anything will catch attention and give them a project to focus on based on feedback.
We can only thank Disney for Rogue One and Andor. THATS THE LIST. Ty for this StarWars content and nothing more.
Rogue One is overrated and heavily based on the OT nostalgia. It doesn't deserve that much praise and love and neither does the Andor Disney Plus show.
@@Ultriac301finally someone with sense. Just because it wasn't unwatchable doesn't mean it was good.
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, we use to get excited about Star Wars....
I give it 3 months before we never hear about this trilogy again like with at least 20 other Star Wars movies that were announced years ego.
I went to Disneyland recently with family. We went to the Star wars area of the park. I couldn't even enjoy it all because of the nonsense Disney has done with the IP.
Same here. Seeing "Rey" in Rise of the Resistance made me ill.
Why are you giving them your money? :(
The only way to "reboot" Star Wars is to have an original story set 100's of years in the future with no legacy characters except possibly mentioned as legends from the past that is a GOOD story first and foremost and don't make it a trilogy, stories earn sequels they shouldn't just be handed them (exception LOTR as all 3 movies were ONE story pre-movie, as for The Hobbit...never should have been a trilogy). The original Star Wars wan't a "trilogy deal" it was just a story George Lucas wanted to tell, it earned the other two movies in the original trilogy.
Lmao the Stuckmann slander. That guy is so clearly exhausted and done. Like a jaded cop waiting on his pension.
I used to watch all kinds of his videos. Great passion. But lately, almost every video he comes releases, i see it and i just have no willpower to watch it.
He also doesn’t review bad movies. He got a lot of heat for posting a video saying he’s not reviewing Madam Web. Said he felt bad for the producers or whatnot.
Haven't watched Cuckmann since about the time he announced Shelby Oaks. That was the catalyst for him only giving "positive" reviews, and by reviews, I mean an unenthusiastic handy to people he wants to impress in Hollywood.
@ facts!

They will NEVER kill my ♥️ love for the OT. No matter how hard they try, they’re not demoralizing me. Don’t let ‘em get YOU either. 👊🏽👍🏽
Disney Star Wars doesn't affect me at all, because it's not real Star Wars and it's all non-canon. I'll always love the true 1977-83 Star Wars that I grew up with as a kid along with my Kenner toys and action figures.
Still love the OT
Why are you black?
Tolkien was a smart man. He didn’t want Disney near his creations.
Whoa, this is epic! Do more like this!
2:20 A highly accurate meme. They really were wasted, weren't they?
IT's probably a tax evasion scam, to announce these projects and greatly exaggerate the investment loss.
Bingo
Bingo
That's not tax evasion.... just a standard accounting practice. Tax evasion is actually illegal; you have to evade paying tax you actually owe. This is tax avoidance; using accounting and structuring to create losses in one area to avoid tax on profits elsewhere.
@@OsellaSquadraCorse lol, uh huh…

After season 2 of Andor next year I think I'm well and fully done with Star Wars. I held on for a long time, but I have reached peak apathy.
0:21 “carries about as much weight as an apology from Boogie”. Nearly spit my drink out laughing. 😂
Wouldn’t that mean it’s actually impactful??
@@jacksonlovesnintendonice bait bro
@@ForbiddenMemoriesGoat no I mean because Boogie carries a LOT of weight, thereby making his apology very impactful. It was a play on the wording
Who is boogie?

I envy you not knowing.
Nobody cares about Disney Star Wars anymore 🙄 😅
All Disney had to do was faithfully adapt the EU!
That required having someone there with half a brain!
But remember, they had no source material
They were taxed with demoralizing us by destroying society’s beloved IPs. Stick with the OT, my dude. 👊🏽👍🏽
this!
And pay Lucas royalties on everything pre 2012 Star Wars??? Never! They’d rather steal bits and pieces of the EU, change the names, and still run it into the ground. They’re so utterly incompetent.
Unless it's the long anticipated Gonk Droid movie, I don't want it.
I'd like to announce now I'm working on a Prequel Trilogy focused on Ewoks.
Hope you got a decent legal team 😂
If Disney were to announce that, I'd say that it couldn't possible be any stupider than what they're currently doing. Go for it!
they made 2 movies already lol
3:15 Shoot’s fired
LOL what WAS that??
@@jeffcarrier9808It was a shot 🤨
Yoda: Do or do not, there is no try
Disney: Try me
Kennedy: Hold my beer! 🍺
I still haven’t seen episode 7 8 or 9
I did see a commercial for Skeleton Crew, it looked like it was for toddlers! All the "stars" look like they are nine or 10. Definitely not anything I would be interested in!
i thought it looked cute and fun. im not super stoked about it or anything, but that was my genuine 1st impression.
guess my standards are pretty low these days idonno, but i wont be too too surprised if it ends up being decent.
My attitude towars Star Wars - ignore it and it will go away eventually.
Here we go again…
To quote Harrison Ford: "I don't care."
Star Wars died the moment that Disney bought the franchise.
RIP Star Wars
I do remember getting tons of grief, when I once correctly wrote I didn't like the farce awakens. I was sceptical of anyone other than Lucas making a Star Wars film, because when you really think about it, what made Star Wars stand about the rest, were small things. The style, the aesthetics, the colour, lighting, cinematography etc. It wasn't just the story, so when I saw the first trailer, I just said, nope, that's not Star Wars. I was called the r word, amongst other things, but, they were missing the point. I didn't like any of the new actors, not just their characters. The actors were never right from the start. Disney doesn't have a clue how to make Star Wars, and they never have. There's no reason to think that will change. Star Wars will be resurrected one day, when it's been long forgotten, and it's a passion project for some future director. Hollywood will look a while lot different byvthen too. Disney will be gone, along with all the big studios. Hollywood, not only have a liberal bias, which is decisive and not what people want from their escapism and entertainment, they also purged all the talent, they don't know how to make a film at this point. That's quite a big problem for a film studio.
I've been burned too many times by Disney Star Wars, to the point where I have absolutely no love for the franchise anymore. Whenever a new SW project is announced, I just can't bring myself to care. Lucasfilm is like that one ex trying desperately to insert themselves back into your life, (but you moved on a long, long time ago...)
Appreciate the ‘The Running Man’ reference
Star Wars died with the Suncrusher level destruction of the EU.
Nice Legends reference there.
At least that hasn't been touched, for what little that is worth.
@@DaDitka I will never call it "Legends". That's the disrespectful label Disney slapped upon the Expanded Universe, which is the real Star Wars canon along with the Original Trilogy.
Kennedy is just jealous of the _Star_ _Trek_ _4_ record for movie announcements that end up nowhere.
Oh how I long for the days when nerds used to have loud debates over whether _Star_ _Trek_ or _Star_ _Wars_ was the better franchise. Now they're both just punchlines for admittedly dumb jokes attempted by the fans that used to care about them.
Before, nerds argued about which franchise was better. Now nerds argue about which franchise is worse. It's like poetry.
I thought it was clear that people had a referendum on woke ideology
Thank you for gifting the world your creativity and it's well-delivered delivery.
Some much deservedly award winning Star Wars short fan films, like Premonition and Origins, can earn my faith that there's still some creative integrity in this sci-fi universe. At least in the hands and hearts of the most genuinely loyal fans. But on the official end of the spectrum, I'm sorry to say that I've had my fill of new Star Wars after its recent trilogy. It's sad when you feel like the time has come to finally walk away from an adventure that has sustained you since childhood.
