What are some tips and tricks that you have to make the maple syrup process faster?
Install vacuum lines, a decent pump and you speed collection plus it will vacuum to you ro Ibc and you can just keep ro running 😉 I think you could gain 25% more volume in sap by going vacuum and you ll never freeze up in buckets or need to empty bucket
Real nice seeing this side of your setup
Thanks Joe.
Sweet looks delicious 😋can’t wait to see your vacuum line set up next year 😊 I m hopeful to move up to 50 taps next year 🙏just hope it’s close to home so I can check them daily 😉 get those seed s ready for germination 😊 I have herbs starting as we type this. Got a second aero garden I plan to fill tonight. Acorn squash is climbing all over the outdoor greenhouse. Can’t wait to get them into a raised bed and let them climb a 4x6 pallet. The red peppers survived and I has a round of smaller peppers ripen over winter their starting to branch out again, so they’re begging to go outside but afraid of frost still. Celery isn’t happy and is still bitter may become soup celery ☹️
Sounds like you have quite a bit of stuff going good for the garden. That is my next plan is to get more seeds started. I feel like I'm running behind this year already!!
@@GagneFarms yes I feel like it, lucky for me I can stay up later and get extra done then. But unlucky I still work 36-40hrs a week too 😟
Know how much your RO system can take per hour then adjust with either a larger pump use 8800 vs the 6800, or larger RO filters greater than the 100's or the 150's.
Does your pan boil faster than the RO system can feed it.
Do you have more sap coming in than your pan or pots can handle.
filter the finished sap.
A get two 5-gallon buckets with a lid between where you can cut a 3 or 4 inch hole between them. Have the filters between them and a bulkhead valve at the bottom with a penetration near the top for a vacuum cleaner. It sucks it through.
B Now if you have some old stock pots get a one or two gallon pot on top, cut a hole in the bottom then put holes in the lid to drain. Also use a bulk head fitting on the lid for attaching the vacuum to the lid. Then at the bottom you can put a valve with another bulkhead fitting. Finally, to hold them together get the long bolds with two hooks or turnbuckles. Using the old stock pots allows you to have them on a burner for filling containers.
All great tips, Thanks for sharing Brett!
