I love how slower living has taken a front seat in so many people's lives. When you're a young mom, you think you have to "get it all done", but into my 40's now, slowing down (with confidence) has been so nice. I love planning, planners and all the things related to goal setting, etc. I guess, as we get older, we realize we simply can't get it all done sometimes and so setting simplistic, realistic goals is so important, otherwise, we let ourselves down. Take joy in the simple, ladies. Enjoying each moment with our husbands and children. Savor it! Many blessings ladies! Happy New Year!
I’d love to know how you get the older children to do nap time/quiet time and not interrupt the time you need. I crave that time again but since my four year old stopped napping it’s been difficult to get any time alone.
I keep getting diagnosed with more autoimmune diseases. I’m starting new therapies and my small business is picking up speed while I work full time. I also have a 3 and 14 year old who were both homeschooled. I had to have the little one go to Montessori school and I pay my teenager to do small tasks for the business. I like the idea of stretching and growing a muscle. That a task or new project becomes easier as it becomes more familiar.
I’m retired and I seem to be busier than ever. I have to have a planner. I have to plan sewing, working on my desk, yard work, Drs appt, etc plus social time. I make a daily list also of my plans for each day, like organizing the dresser drawers. Cooking etc plus errands. It takes organization to be productive and feel like things have been completed.
I see your sweet little guy popping his head in there. So sweet! I thought I was way too busy raising my first two daughters, one of which was chronically ill. Now they are 31 and 27 years old and on their own. I am still raising my 15 year old son and have no idea how to raise this different species and all of his 8 friends who are in and out of my house. I now have a 4 year old granddaughter and I try to spend as much time with her as possible. Sometimes my Equinox has four kids in it. (I almost bought a small car instead thinking I wouldn't need it.) I am more busy now than when I had the two girls. My firefighter/Medic/RN/Engineer husband of 35 years works two full time jobs and rolls through for a few hours a week. I am one busy mom, wife, and nana. I am the taxi for the teens in our neighborhood. I help them get to and from school and their part time jobs. I used to work at a hospital when my girls were little and then had an at home transcription job for 20 years. Did I mention that both of my daughters played soccer on a rec league, school team, and travel teams. Just wait until you are my age. It is crazy!
The part about if something being important we make time, or like if it's something that we want to get done we find the time, like, that was really insightful. I don't want to confront that. lol
Loved watching 💕. We are retired but we are super busy because of Grandchildren, our Parents are still with us. It’s just always something. I’m have a problem finding a planner I can also use as a sort of diary. I’m using notes pages that are 81/2” instead of the normal planner. Wish I could find something pretty like that. ~ Janet 😘
@OJReynolds oh I know exactly what you mean. I’ve always got a to do list written on an old envelope or old book. We’re in the sandwich years which are busy times. Take care
@@sueba5913 hi, I never heard the of “sandwich years” I like that! I suppose we are, I do the same thing using envelopes and scraps of paper. I do wish they’d make a sort of diary planner. I try to save dates of pictures and appointments You take care also💕. ~ Janet

LOVE this statement: “the tide that will raise all the boats”. What a great way way to think about habit change.
Yes so true! And one I need in my life!

Oh I bet you are so right! We always think life is going to slow down just around the corner, but that is never the case! Thanks for the reminder.
“& Still involves children” 😂😂 so funny
What a great conversation, thank you for taking the time to share this 💛

Ha! Me neither, honestly.
Ooo I like the idea of having a game plan (i.e. get my house in order) for each month! I might try it that way this year.

Oh gosh don't write off older people/retirees/empty nesters!
This is from our limited perspective as younger moms. Life just gets busier, doesn't it?! I'm guessing so. 😂
