  • The Clippers are in a desperate situation that not enough people are talking about. James Harden might be their next point guard but they have an outside chance at Damian Lillard.

    Often injured veteran players are going to become pariahs under the new CBA. You can't have 40% of your cap injured come playoff time and have only minimum players to pick up the slack. That is a huge no-no and teams are slowly waking up to this new reality. The 4 year 60 million contracts are over for rotation players. How can you trust anyone playing as much as they do in the NBA to be healthy in season 4??? There is zero sense in rolling that dice for the teams. These deals will most likely end up in 2 two year deals worth the same money. Or we will see a lot more usage of "team options" on these contracts... I don't know if the teams are allowed to have 1 year guaranteed followed by 3 separate "team option" seasons. If this is the case the contracts could stay the same on paper. But the rotation players will be applying for their own jobs way more than before... And they will move around even more now.

    Honestly I kinda hope harden gets to go to the clippers I mean for one he would have the chemistry with Westbrook since he just signed with the clippers and if Paul George stays healthy with the clippers it could be a dangerous trio and they could send kawhi away but the 6ixers would have to give some picks away and it would be a win win situation since if kawhi and Embiid duo up they would be the beast of the east and it would give the clippers more cap space and better chemistry for the trio so maybe 2 players or more can get more money or get a max for later years

    They should just invest on better health and physical staff. that has no capspace. they are lock in on PG and Kawhi. if only they can magically develop and young talent.

    I would have to disagree with you there. Russes defense has to do with coaching most coaches. Let Russ save his energy offense the clippers Coach is telling him to use his energy for both. Russ was a great offender for the clippers. And played great and the playoffs.

      Yes. But he may have an option on the second year. He also signed a 2-year deal with Denver but only played this season. Hard to see anyone paying him more than 23 million though.

    All of these aging star players with big salaries - the end comes with a big thud. Westbrook went from making $40mil to $3mil because there was no market. Same happened to Wall. I will be amused if Harden gets anything beyond a one year... Same goes for PG and Kahwi.

    What does trading someone "for salary" mean?

    • @randygraham926
      @randygraham926 Год назад

      They have to make salaries roughly match in a trade .... the receiveing team may intend to dump that player later and then they won't have to pay him.

    George should have gone to the Knicks, he would get to be the third guy and also the closer.
    That said, if Harden is the third scorer and primary ball handler, he will be fine.

      @@randygraham926 Randle has had some tough playoffs, but unless they can make a serious upgrade they’d be crazy to trade him. They need to improve on RJ.

    Going to the Clips would be the amartest idea of Dame's whole career, instead the Clippers not pursuing him full-on and thinking about Harden wouldn't even be their most idiotic decision easily. But yeah Portland obviously have bunch of dumbasses in their front office so why stay? Loyalty? Try being your whole career in a team which have only wasted your career, I would understand if he would've won atleast once but look at their team building..

      I’m not old enough to have seen him play but I feel like Portland did the same thing to Clyde Drexler. Straight up wasted his career. He left for the Rockets at the end and won a chip
