Lob City Clippers had so many issues with the front office. In my opinion, they made a lot of issues with the new players they took. Literally only Cp3, JJ, Blake, DeAndre, and Jamal can score. There comes a time where only starters played the whole game (not literally whole game). It was just bad. Doc Rivers fucked it up by adding his son and an old Paul Pierce.
@SUBSCRIBO austin a good side piece? I will give credit to his defense ut his offense was severely lacking, in his 3 seasons with the clippers in the playoffs he shot 32% from 3, only 66% from ft and a true shooting of just 49%, that is not something that i will call "good side piece"
Our main problem was not being able to sign a good SF. The best we had during whole that era was Matt Barnes. I love that dude but if he's the best we ever had, that's a problem. The sad part is we managed to get both Harris and Gallinari right after trading Blake.
@@luchogonzealaise3717 I highly agree! I wanted to mention their small forward not being able to contribute but he was kinda their defender. And hell yeah man, Matt Barnes was the only small forward we saw from that Lob City Clippers actually contributing. Especially that last few seconds Game 7 defense against the Defending Champ Spurs ( Spurs actually got cheated with the timer). When it was announced that Kevin Durant might join the Lob City Clippers, I really got excited that finally the lineup is about to be complete. But then yeah... =( It feels so good talking with a Lob City Clippers fan
That year they beat the Spurs in Game 7 and lost a 3-1 lead to Hardens Rockets, was their year to win a championship. They had the Warriors number in the Playoffs before they won a championship. Also, Cleveland was injured in the Finals.
I wish the Warriors had faced them in the Conference Finals but I think they wouldve beaten the Clippers. Remember, the previous year, the series went to 7 games. That year Steph became the MVP and Klay became an all-star. And had homecourt advantage.
This might come to a disagreement, Clippers also didn't have a proper floor general after CP3 on the bench, it was all shooters with little defense, I think. Funny it's because of that David Stern CP3 deal that made the Clippers relevant to this day.
Locker room issues aside, I think one of the issues clippers werent living up to expectation is because other than CP3 talent-wise they werent good enough. Blake was supposed to be that 2nd superstar but he was never really that. In a changing nba game he never developed an effective jumpshot, wasnt really good in the post as a PF and had a reputation of being soft. In terms of the other guys in that team the only player that could really create his own shot was Jamaal but he was limited to a bench role. So pretty much Cp3 didnt have enough help which is evident by the fact that when Cp3 joined an actual superstar with Harden, they went toe to toe with the Warriors dynasty.
@@jhdivina I mean I guess he improved his jumpshot somewhat but it wasnt reliable to be a threat to help their playoff runs. By the time he made it reliable and extended his range to the 3pt line the lob city era was pretty much over so its a a shame the clippers couldnt attract a third option to put them over the line.
@@righteo9117 now this part is correct but honestly I think we would have been better off with Kyrie maybe the clippers were too thirsty for cp but maybe Cp3 would have been better off a laker I mean he was better a hornet than a clipper if we’re being honest and I also think Chris stunted Blake’s growth in some ways I think Blake griffin had the complete package and he was willing to improve and expand his game as you can see in his later years. He is actually my favorite player and I believe he is the best clipper of all time. I think the clippers should have stuck it out and gotten Kyrie I’m not sure if Chris was the best to put along side Blake bc initially it was Blake’s Team
I've been a clippers fan since Griffin got drafted cause I watched him at Oklahoma, I remember all this I watched all these games and playoffs and the pain I felt, your video brought it all back
Clippers fan here, the moment Doc left, the Clippers make the WCF. Doc just loved choking and did nothing to improve the team’s chemistry. Those Rockets and Nuggets series still hurt.
Clippers fan here since 2006, I've been through a lot of heartbreak with this team and I constantly get clowned for it every season...but something about our current FO with the great Jerry West, has really turned our franchise around. We made the WCF without Kawhi, a feat we have never done before as a franchise..amazing. I'm hopeful for our squad. Especially with Lue at the helm, he's found a gem in T-Mann and most recently we got Norman Powell and Covington for pretty much nothing but an aging bledsoe a rook and a pick in the draft. I like our chances..I'm so used to heartbreak with this team but I feel this may be the turn around. Just needa get PG & Kawhi healthy for next season, this one is to develop and reload. Lob City was great for the franchise, but we used it as a leaping board to what we are now. A respected franchise with players actually wanting to come and play for us, rather than at times the Lakers, that is a great victory to say the least. Also, a new arena in 2025 for us by Mr. Ballmer himself who also now owns the forum haha only way is up my dude! (sorry for the long comment)
If you haven't already, I'd love to see one of these on those late 80's, early 90's Trailblazers teams led by Clyde Drexler and coached by Rick Adleman who made the finals twice, losing to those Bad Boy Pistons and the Bulls!
This was my favorite team to use on 2k all I’d do was run Pick and roll plays for DJ and Blake and spot up jj for easy 3’s. With a great Floor general like Chris Paul It was easy and I’d do the sickest Ankle breakers with Jamal Crawford

Love the vids man great one as usual. Have you thought about doing deep dives on championship winners ? How the built there teams and there many failures until breaking through? The last three champions have interesting roads to the championship
Seeing these Clips fail as a Laker fan, I really wonder what if Chris Paul joined us instead. Maybe we could win some championships? I see it tho as unlikely because of the nature of the NBA back then, but we'll definitely be more competitive entering the twilight of Kobe's career.
According to Stern at that time, the Lakers would be "too good" if they got CP3, even though the Lakers were about to give up Gasol and Odom for him and LeBron formed the Big 3 in Miami a year prior. He pretty much admitted that he didn't want the Lakers to keep winning
The Lakers would have 1 more ring Kobe bryant would of filled the ghost of Jordan etc. But the NBA helped them with Portland and kings so with that trade David and Clivand GM complain like baby is why it did not happen then the organization did not draft the correct players or But the right staff for Koby they wasn't the last year I still think he should have retired in 2013 not taken the extentions at all.
Being from Southern California and a Lakers fan my whole life it was really funny to see all the Clippers bandwagon fans after jumped on after that 2011 season. Suddenly there were all these people who had all of a sudden been a Clipper "fan" for their entire life it was really silly.
Chris Paul was truly a great NBA point god. It is funny that at earlier in his career people were saying Deron William was better than him during 05-07. It’s hard to win a championship being the best player on the team when you are under 6 feet tall.
Very sad ending for a very great team. I was rooting for them. Too bad the clippers are staying in LA and not moving to Anaheim or San Diego. At least they are getting a new arena.
These are such interesting videos….you can keep doing these moving back through the years….the Shaw/penny/nick Anderson magic, Ewing/starks/mason knicks etc.
The biggest hurdle was in those years the western conference was STACKED: Spurs, OKC, a young GS, Memphis, Clippers, Utah, Dallas, NO, Portland and others. Every game was a big deal
That’s not even the problem. They never lost to golden state in the playoffs. They only lost to the spurs once and that was at the very beginning of the lob city era. They were never good enough to even face the spurs/warriors
as a clippers fan it hurt to see them fail again and again i just wanted to see them finally win, to see blake griffin win, to see chris paul win, but we just couldn’t make it to the finals, but now we have a finals mvp kawhi leonard, and paul george and i really do hope we can finally win a championship
I wonder why you didn't mention the Donald Sterling controversy, which was a big factor in the team beating the Warriors in the name of solidarity and unity in the face of adversity.
I love falling asleep to these videos. I legitimately thought you had like 200k with your production value and editing, but damn, you'll get there soon!
JJ Redick always talks about this team: too many egos and drama kept them from being able to mentally compete with true teams like the Golden State Warriors
The Clippers are always a franchise i love to see fail. They're somehow always the team with the most cocky roster who somehow always blows it in the playoffs
Their fans are even more cocky. "wE rUn LA!!" they keep saying despite their team only been past the 2nd round once and never been to the finals in their 60+ year history
I will never forgive Stern for blowing up the CP3 trade. If it had been allowed to go through the Flippers wouldn't have happened and Kobe would've had 8 rings.
I say doc rivers isnt that good of a coach. He’s overrated. The only reason people think he’s good is because Celtics won Just ONE championship that was moreso due to the big 3 of pierce playing great, garnett shooting surprisingly well from 3 and ray allen being awesome.
Love the content! You should do more of these. I’m a huge fan and could watch them all day. I’m interested in recent and even really old NBA storylines like 60s-70s. Either way keep up with the great content
You could say it was injuries and choking but i don't think they ever were championship material. even in their best years they were better contenders out there that they wouldn't beat
The West was so stacked, you had the Spurs and the Thunder, then the Warriors emerged. It's not that the Clippers weren't good enough, they also had to face all time teams (but didn't even manage to face them because of chocks and injuries)
@@luchogonzealaise3717 and let's not forget prime LeBron with a superteam in the East if by some miracle they made it out of the West. Maybe im being a little unfair and they were good but their competition was just insane point still stands though injuries, choking or not they would never win a ring
The biggest problem for the clippers was their window coincided with the Thunders dominant run and the Spurs big resurgence. They could just never get past okc or SA, and then the warriors became and thing and ended it for everyone
I hate when people misrepresent the trade veto and it instantly turns me off. The NBA was in charge of the hornets at the time, now put yourself in charge of the Hornets - what or why in the heck would you trade Chris Paul for nothing? So of course you would veto that obviously lopsided trade. Is this just a lakers fan thing to misrepresent this decision?
Also, Cleveland was injured in the Finals.
they also split the season series with them too that year, they had it.
Funny it's because of that David Stern CP3 deal that made the Clippers relevant to this day.
one of the most fun and talented teams ever to never win it all. Like seriously, those 2012-2015 teams were crazy loaded.
I can’t believe you left out the Donald sterling piece to this story and the acquisition of the team by balmer. Important parts to the story
Best NBA channel. So in depth
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Please stop
@@ClippersRunLA whats your opinion?
@@righteo9117 I'm no griffin fan but he actually had a decent jumpshot. He even extended his range to the 3pt line.
Atleast I could count on doc rivers to blow a 3-1 lead
I've been a clippers fan since Griffin got drafted cause I watched him at Oklahoma, I remember all this I watched all these games and playoffs and the pain I felt, your video brought it all back
I'm still a Clipper fan till this day though
Clips/Grizzlies series was some of the best basketball I've ever seen.
There were so many wars on the West
I’m from the future and it does not in fact get better for the clippers
Love your videos! Thank you for sharing your work with us.
Blake was the first person to call it lob city. There’s a video of him reacting to the news and was saying “lob city”
Wonderful to see your videos, great work
Haven't watched the video yet but I know it's gonna break my heart as a Clippers superfan
All I wanted was for CP3 to get a ring. Still hoping that happens. LAC, HOU, and now PHX. With good talent around him, it’s now or never
don't forget okc after houston
Yeah he always gets injured at the wrong times
Thats not gonna happen
@@jorgepangan323 he still have time so never say never
never, KD will get hurt, or cp3 will, its inevitable at this point.
Great work man. Really good job on this. Feels like premium content for free.
You should honestly have more subs continue the great content
Dylan your on the up and up, keep up the GREAT content
If you haven't already, I'd love to see one of these on those late 80's, early 90's Trailblazers teams led by Clyde Drexler and coached by Rick Adleman who made the finals twice, losing to those Bad Boy Pistons and the Bulls!
That Josh Smith game is so legendary lmao I watched it live and couldn't believe what I was watching.
This was my favorite team to use on 2k all I’d do was run Pick and roll plays for DJ and Blake and spot up jj for easy 3’s. With a great Floor general like Chris Paul It was easy and I’d do the sickest Ankle breakers with Jamal Crawford
And you lost right lol
@@nathanharris3787 yep she did to me lmao

This channel really shows how important it is to incite people to like and subscribe to your channel. This dude puts out bangers and gets tons of views but yet only has 130k subs
I remember when I used to get hyped when the lob city clippers would play on TNT.
Got that Mr. Ballen action as the background music during the talk about the Houston-Clippers series, I like it.
Loving these type of videos man!
Hoping to see Dwight's Magic or Melo's Nuggets next
Agreed
You do a fantastic job, man. Thanks for doing these.
As a Clippers fan, 2 words, doc rivers
Nice one I love this channel!
I love these vids man, I’ve seen this lil series of yours since the start and i can’t wait to see you make more of these or even jus diff content. keep up the work🤞🏿
I have no idea how this channel is under 60k subscribers, it is way better than nearly all other NBA content on youtube.
I sat through the whole video and I still can't explain how this team, with alllll that talent, failed.
Lakers failed for years to reach the playoffs while the flippers had sooo many chances to win multiple rings lmao
I love these deep dives dude and I don't even like NBA ball ! this is amazing dude, keep up the great work !
They didn't want the lakers to win again
Man said Deron Williams! U a basketball fan 4real. Deron & Boozer were nice n Utah.CP3 & West n NO
Chris Paul isnt under 6 ft
Very sad ending for a very great team. I was rooting for them. Too bad the clippers are staying in LA and not moving to Anaheim or San Diego. At least they are getting a new arena.
These are such interesting videos….you can keep doing these moving back through the years….the Shaw/penny/nick Anderson magic, Ewing/starks/mason knicks etc.
An episode on Anthony Davis' time in New Orleans would be pretty interesting
How, they just sucked
And every other star player they draft…
not really they didn’t achieve anything
@@lilbuckwheat2627 Neither did Lob City
@@camctrail davis only made the playoffs twice in his pelican years and made it out of the first round once
Bro keep up the vids these are golden
Do one on Ray Allen’s Bucks, since they’re the reigning champs. Good vid as always.
Great idea
Good video as always.
YEEEESSS! I know you just watched Embiid pull that out over the Kings! You must always trust in The Process!
The biggest hurdle was in those years the western conference was STACKED: Spurs, OKC, a young GS, Memphis, Clippers, Utah, Dallas, NO, Portland and others. Every game was a big deal
Just finished my basketball game
Time to watch 🏀s now
Your videos is pure fire 🔥
They were unfortunately caught up in the transition btwn Duncan's Spurs and Curry's GS
That’s not even the problem. They never lost to golden state in the playoffs. They only lost to the spurs once and that was at the very beginning of the lob city era. They were never good enough to even face the spurs/warriors
Right in the middle of 2 dynaties
@@c.i.a8359 Actually they lost to the spurs twice counting 2012.
@@lik7953 that was only one playoff series. After the the 2015 season the lob city could not bet the gsw .
Grit and Grind Grizzlies was a fun rivalry. Seeing Zach Randolph beat up Blake Griffin was everything 😂
Conley & CP3 r the last of floor generals
Wake up babe! Dylan dropped another vid
Crazy how this guy doesn’t have more subs he’s videos are always top teir
Thanks you for your work Dylan! Please do a video on the Phoenix Suns in the future?
as a clippers fan it hurt to see them fail again and again i just wanted to see them finally win, to see blake griffin win, to see chris paul win, but we just couldn’t make it to the finals, but now we have a finals mvp kawhi leonard, and paul george and i really do hope we can finally win a championship
0:10 Lakers fans will tell you Lebron ruined the franchise and conveniently forget about these stretch of years before he got there.
I like your videos, keep going
I wonder why you didn't mention the Donald Sterling controversy, which was a big factor in the team beating the Warriors in the name of solidarity and unity in the face of adversity.
I love falling asleep to these videos. I legitimately thought you had like 200k with your production value and editing, but damn, you'll get there soon!
Do Derrick rose career
What's that song at the end
Yes d rose 🌹
JJ Redick always talks about this team: too many egos and drama kept them from being able to mentally compete with true teams like the Golden State Warriors
The Clippers are always a franchise i love to see fail. They're somehow always the team with the most cocky roster who somehow always blows it in the playoffs
Their fans are even more cocky. "wE rUn LA!!" they keep saying despite their team only been past the 2nd round once and never been to the finals in their 60+ year history
well they won’t be failing for much longer
@@bruh_man254 this comment aged poorly
One of the greatest regular season highlight teams
I will never forgive Stern for blowing up the CP3 trade. If it had been allowed to go through the Flippers wouldn't have happened and Kobe would've had 8 rings.
I think there might have been locker problems with Kobe not liking his work ethic
@@MicahBell763 nah Kobe would teach CP3 how to win.
Idk, i can only imagine how much they would have had in the locker room with Chris paul kobe and dwight together
Hell yeah, finally after asking for so long he made this vid. My mans reads the comments.
Then the Clippers came along with an actually equitable trade and it obviously went through.
“The lob THE JAM!!!” “Whoa!!”
So Iconic man. And then DJ’s face hahaha
