    *I have a wild theory:* Had Fultz not been injured on the 76ers in the first place, Ben Simmons would have never played PG and The Process would have not been a complete failure because Simmons’ flaws are more likely to be hidden at the 4.

    • @Enthusiast230
      @Enthusiast230 3 месяца назад +113

      With or without markelle being injured, Simmons would still have been the primary ball handler, which is impossible in the modern era as ball handlers that can't shoot are major liabilities. Let alone a ball handler that is scared to shoot shots, let alone free throws.
      Opposing teams could just prioritize post/mid range defense, and the sixers offense every year of the process would have been effectively mitigated.

    Injuries are the bane of any athlete. Some are lucky enough to recover well but others have degenerative conditions or are just injury prone. This ain't 2K where you can set injury frequency and severity to 0.

    • @MrBubblecake
      @MrBubblecake 3 месяца назад +12

      Injuries aren’t all about luck, especially non contact injuries. They’re about genetics, durability, and play style (mainly how a player controls their body when falling/jumping, which is why they coach QBs how to go down when being tackled). That’s why some players can play 7 straight seasons without a non-contact injury, where people with genetics like Lonzo and LaMelo ball can’t play 2 full seasons without going down grabbing at one of their legs. Some people are just genetically more fragile than others. I played Football, Ice hockey, Roller hockey, and Basketball, all of them for 10+ years until college (I’m now 28) and I’ve never suffered an injury in my life, let alone a non contact injury. But I noticed the kids that DID get injured playing, were usually the same kids that got injured previously in years before. Some people are just injury prone, and no amount of muscle/weight gain will change a fragile body. Genetics also factor in to rate of recovery.

    • @andycanoy863
      @andycanoy863 3 месяца назад +4

They were still on their cheap rookie scale contracts and both were injured early on so they had no right to demand high paydays. Philly could have used the cap space to sign good roleplayers to have a respectable team when both came back but they continued to tank to get the 3rd pick and no, there is no alternate universe where philly picked tatum because boston had the 1st pick and was dead set on getting him that they traded down to get more in return for their supposedly "dumb" decision because fultz is the consensus projected no. 1. Fultz seems like the perfect guy you sign to a 1 or 2 year deal with a club option for a 2nd or 3rd year. Veteran who could help guide your younger players. Sure there's injury concerns, but the upside potential could be well worth the risk. Makes me think of Rose when he went to my hometown Pistons.

    Markelle Fultz's NBA career is like watching a mime perform in a blackout-full of movement, but you’re not quite sure what’s happening. It’s like putting a Rubik’s Cube in a blender and hoping for a solution. The guy’s potential has been as elusive as a unicorn at a dog show, you know? It’s like expecting a gourmet meal from a food truck that only serves air-plenty of hype, but zero substance. The Fultz saga? It’s the sports equivalent of watching a VHS tape on a 4K TV-just doesn’t quite fit, babe.

    My Fultz conspiracy theory has always been he had a dirt bike or atv accident that messed him up and neither him or the team was willing to come forth bc it would void his comtract and be seen as huge blunder on both sides so they hid it and it messed him up permanently...it may sound weird but im a life long 6ers fan and it was reporting at the time substantiaing this and it always made the most sense to me bc we've never seen a player from what he was to what he became as far as a jump shooter in a matter of weeks, he looked good at summer league, sprained his ankle, and then came to training camp shooting like a toddler
