*When the design for Sarada Uchiha first came out a few weeks ago to reveal how she would look in the boruto time skip, better known as Boruto Two Blue Vortex, it led to a lot of discourse about her character that has only grown in the time since the last boruto manga chapter was released and the full outfit was on display! Some Boruto fans have called her a 304 and others have said this is just fans sexualizing a character who isn't sexualized, but which is it? Did Boruto Two Blue Vortex take things too far with the daughter of Sasuke and the person who wants to be hokage just like Naruto in the future? Well, in today's video we're not only going to address this Sarada time skip design outrage head on, but we're also going to be taking a look at where this stacks up against other shonen series that have done way worse when it comes to fanservice for characters her age and explain the purpose of fanservice in shonen anime and manga and why Sarada's design is far from traditional fanservice! Those who are complaining about Sarada being “oversexualized” probably never seen any other female shonen character before. There are countless female characters in shonen who are way too sexualized.
I don’t hate her design but I am most certainly disappointed with how true your statement is. And I think that’s the problem here. Honestly, in a weird way, I think one of the reasons why some people are upset just because it's Sasuke's daughter. Sounds kinda silly but Naruto has been around for so long and basically came apart of people's lives. Maybe in some weird way, people are seeing her as there own? Eida and other girls is different I guess because they're random. No one really has a problem till it hits close to home imo. Might be a bit of a reach but I dunno.
I'm very protective of my younger sister who.has shown a little more skin as she's gotten older, its nothing crazy but it bothers me personally just because I'm protective. Could be the same thing for other people. Personally I think her design is fitting and looks sick, and like you said, it's real tamed.
For me, it's the fact that in her original design, as he (youtuber) said, when she was suppose to be only 12/13, her then pants also barely covered her hips, leaving some scenes to give you the full view depending on the angle he (creator) chose to have her drawn in. And now, as soon as he made her older, he jumped right back into having her in a new "barely covering her hips" outfit, giving way to start doing those shots/angles again. So to me it kind of looks like he was just waiting for the moment when he could have her turn 16/17, just so he could hurry and put her back into the "more skin/shorter clothing" outfit he originally envisioned her in as a kid without as much backlash this time. Had those shots/angles not been there when the character was only around 12, I wouldn't have minded her new outfit. As far as I can remember, none of the female characters in the main Naruto pre shippuden series were drawn in angles/gives scenes with those shots due to their outfits, so their more revealing outfits in Shippuden didn't give off a "here the shonin genre/serie's creator goes again" feeling connecting the two outfits/the pre teen and teen version of the character, to what is a very tired/old cliche to have to watch at this point (and I also can't recall the characters getting drawn like that while in their more "skin showing" outfits of Shippuden either, so again, the shippuden outfits themselves didn't become a "sceptical-eyebrow-raising" thing). If Kishimoto doesn't end up using Sarada's new outfit as a way/excuse to "show off" her body through panty shots and other similar angles/shot, I'm gonna be very happy (and again, my scepticism about the reason for her new outfit will fade), but the fact that he already did when the character was a pre teen, and so now as she's in fact/actually within Japan's legal age of consent. Again, it just makes it look like he couldn't wait to get back into drawing his main female character in more suggestive/"show off" poses again, now as she's closer to a grown up. Anyway that's just my two cents on the matter.

Sarada's TS outfit is more appropriate than her part 1 outfit.
It's more appropriate than stuff worn by characters from other series who are the same age.
Also I hate to be an old guy yelling at clouds who dunks on Gen Z, but I feel like most of the complaints come from younger/newer anime viewers. This is simply because virtue signalling has become so popular to the younger crowd regardless of how hypocritical or naive they're being.
Us older fans that grew up on 80s - 00s anime know that ecchi elements are par for the course in most anime, and we see it as normal. We understand Japan's culture uses fanservice for comedy and we've grown to love it.

@@Yesboiii99 Ok if you say so lol. Now I'm not one of those hypocrites - Boruto and Naruto is the only anime universe i watch and ever will I actually chose it because I played a good game that involved it and it was relatively sexually tame compared to others, so I will say this:
Idc about subjective opinions, a lot more of the female body has sexual value than the male body. Males are far more attracted to female bodies themselves rather than the female than females are to males - thats how that is. Women in the west realised this. You go back a few hundred years not just women in the west women everywhere dressed like Muslim women do today, but eventually the sexual marketplace started up - one women decided to show some leg another some cleavage another some hair etc etc and we get to present day. I disagree with one of the key points that this video makes - JUST because a normal teenager today dresses a certain way does NOT validate that. As far as I'm concerned, especially in our generation, teenage girls spend a lot of their time sleeping around (as do teenage boys, dont worry i find that equally disgusting), so trying to morally justify this design with this argument is baseless. One of the other key points ppl are missing is the rebellious bitchy feminist haircut she has - short hair in women is associated with promiscuity, lesbianism and the like - maybe thats another reason people have problems with her design.

lol. I pulled some punches on this one. I could have gone further but fan service in shonen is something that's more fitting to do on my kryptonian saiyan channel, since that's about other series besides naruto. This EASILY could have been a 30 minute video
I'm so glad someone said this with a platform to spread this info. As someone who works with teen girls of all ages (mainly 10-18) Sarada's design felt like a teen girl's would. She's a strong ninja who can also dress like a girl, because that what she IS. I'm tired of the double standards as well, so thank you for pointing this out. Even as somebody from the Bible belt, I felt this was a rather modest design and was surprised to hear outrage against it for not showing more skin tbh. The point that she's not very large in the chest is a very good point so thank you for saying it. I have mad respect for you for your research and understanding of both genders and other cultures. Rompers are also available for toddlers and infant girls btw. Just so we're clear. I've seen them at Target.

Honestly they're only mad just to give Boruto more hate, I understood Sarada's pre time skip design only because of the super short skirt on a 12 year old but her design now isn't even bad. It really isn't that complicated. Most of these people aren't mad that Sarada is oversexualized. They're mad that Sasuke's daughter is. It would be the same sort of outrage but worse if it was Himawari, and literally nobody would care if it was anybody else wearing this.
It doesn't matter if somebody else's daughter looks like a 304 and in fact it would be mostly welcomed, but you better not make my boy's daughter one.
I've realized that ppl only have a issue with women looking even remotely attractive. Even though this isn't even slightly fanservice, at what point did ppl stopped hating fanservice. The complaint about Salad's outfit, in a manner, also stems from the 'fear' certain fans have. Characters like Orihime are accepted as minor characters and being used as weird comedic service. Salad, on the other hand, is considered the female co-lead of Boruto and fans want her to bring something more to the Boruto Two Blue Vortex story instead of being sidelined, as she was during the final bunch of Boruto chapters, and being used for fan service. She couldn't even stand straight in certain panels.

Another great example would be Yuzariha from Hells Paradise, she’s a female ninja who wears revealing clothing, and is only 17 years old, she even uses her feminine charm to seduce multiple characters and attempts to seduce Gabimaru as well.

Another interesting bit from historical kunoichis: if they failed to kill their mark or their cover was blown, a common method of escape would be to tear up their clothes, revealing themselves and running into a public area pleading for help.

I remember hearing about this and from what I remember, a lot of the male fans were mad that Sarada had short hair and wasn't "curvy" or "feminine-looking" enough (while pretending that they were mad about her outfit when their reimagined versions of time-skip Sarada have her in skimpier outfits and showing a lot more skin) while a lot of the female fans were mad that Kishimoto put her in super-high stiletto heels (that wouldn't be practical for fights or provide enough comfortable foot support).

I'm all for fan service. It only gets annoying when they hyper focus on it, taking too much time away from scenes.

For me, it's the fact that in her original design, as you said, when she was suppose to be only 12/13, her then pants also barely covered her hips, leaving some scenes to give you the full view depending on the angle he chose to have her drawn in. And now, as soon as he made her older, he jumped right back into having her in a new "barely covering her hips" outfit, giving way to start doing those shots/angles again. So to me it kind of looks like he was just waiting for the moment when he could have her turn 16/17, just so he could hurry and put her back into the "more skin/shorter clothing" outfit he originally envisioned her in as a kid without as much backlash this time. Had those shots/angles not been there when the character was only around 12, I wouldn't have minded her new outfit. As far as I can remember, none of the female characters in the main Naruto pre shippuden series were drawn in angles/gives scenes with those shots due to their outfits, so their more revealing outfits in Shippuden didn't give off a "here the shonin genre/serie's creator goes again" feeling connecting the two outfits/the pre teen and teen version of the character, to what is a very tired/old cliche to have to watch at this point (and I also can't recall the characters getting drawn like that while in their more "skin showing" outfits of Shippuden either, so again, the shippuden outfits themselves didn't become a "sceptical-eyebrow-raising" thing). If Kishimoto doesn't end up using Sarada's new outfit as a way/excuse to "show off" her body through panty shots and other similar angles/shot, I'm gonna be very happy (and again, my scepticism about the reason for her new outfit will fade), but the fact that he already did when the character was a pre teen, and so now as she's in fact/actually within Japan's legal age of consent. Again, it just makes it look like he couldn't wait to get back into drawing his main female character in more suggestive/"show off" poses again, now as she's closer to a grown up. Anyway that's just my two cents on the matter.
Ok but even if thats the case, Most characters in different shows show a lot more skin and literally NUDES. And no one says anything. Nothing. Orohime with breast, Noelle showing everything, Kishimoto even did this with Tsunade. Its weird when ikemoto does it he wants a excuse to be weird. If thats the case than every manga artist is weird

As mentioned, what gets me about this case/example is that he included those scenes when Sarada is suppose to be as young as around 12 years old. And as mentioned, the fact that this wasn't anything that Kishimoto included in the original Naruto series, the fact that he did so now with Sarada gives off a "really? You're doing this too now?", and "Oh, I "wonder" why he would make her new outfit so similar looking - lenght vice - to the one she had as a kid that he got backlash about" feeling/vibe. Like, he already suddenly included it with a young character, so how much is he gonna go out/so how hard is he gonna lean on that cliche now that she's more mature/grown? True, there's Tsunade, but I don't recall him ever drawing a scene of her breasts, soley for the purpose of just showing off her breasts (although I haven't read the series in years, so I could be wrong). I remember I stopped reading Fairy Tale party because of all the "fanservice for fanservice sake" moments with the female characters, and the many fanservice shots in Deadly 7 Sins and Fire Force are the reasons I won't be picking up those mangas.

i think the issue isn't really the outfit. the issue is WHO is wearing the outfit. yes, girls like Ino, Eida, and girls from other shows around the same age dress similarly (croptops shorts etc.) I believe the issue people have is that she looks 12 yo. she literally HAS NOT changed physically other than her outfit in the time-skip. People subconciously think that sarada is a 12 yo (looks wise) wearing an 18 yo girls outfit. like imagine if part one sakura wore a crop top and jean shorts. sure sarada is a 16 yo and that is of age in a lot of countries and states, but her body shape doesn't show it. Other animes get away w it because their girls are curvier and look older so the outfits they wear look appropiate for their age. sarada literally looks pre timeskip but with a more revealing outfit so i think thats why people find it weird. personally idgaf about what sarada wears as cause idc about her character to get pressed lmao but i like the jacket i think its cool.
i mean, it's irl accurate for a kunoichi to be sexual however, she is like 15... so are all the other main female characters in every other anime

2. After the fight vs Naruto and Sasuke, FUSED Momoshiki replenished his health and chakra with the scientific ninja tool from Katasuke, ate 3 more chakra pills which replenished him even further, and still lost 1v1 to *KID* Boruto while Naruto and Sasuke were pinned down by chakra rods.
3. *BASE* Boruto using a shadow clone was capable of blitzing FUSED Momoshiki, punch him in the stomach, activate his Jougan, counted FUSED Momoshiki's taijutsu, which created an opening for another vanishing rasengan hit to his ribcage all before the real Boruto came out of the sky with his giant vanishing rasengan(which was mixed with BOTH Boruto and Naruto's chakra) to defeat FUSED Momoshiki but the *FACT* still remains that *KID* Boruto did indeed fight *FUSED* Momoshiki *1v1* and held his own and defeated him proving he's already Otsutsuki tier which is NOT *DEBATABLE*

Compared to the other manga and anime displayed in the video, it becomes very quickly noticeable how normal Sarada looks side by side. She looks like a teenager, dressed like a teenager. While it may look weird to see her fight in this outfit, (and i'm sure the anime will make design changes), the outfit itself on sarada is far from sexualised

Your reasoning actually led to the backlash the Boruto fans got from old Indonesian weebs. We had a street fashion show called "Citayam Fashion Week" and most of them were attended by stereotypically not-really-good-looking teenagers aged 12-18. The female dressed like what Sarada & Himawari wears in the timeskip, while the male looked like Boruto TS.
