All I can say about Creswell, NC, is that it's a beautiful, peaceful place, obviously close-knit and safe, with treasured intact 19th-century historic architecture galore to be a small town. I enjoyed our walk around Creswell's town center, Mr. French! Most likely, that hand pump we passed was either for well water (now dried up) or was the location of a now capped-off artesian well water. Sometimes, bigger is not better. This is a great little town Timothy, small but still doing what it can do to survive. The few shops in this town of about 200 people seem determine to keep moving forward, and in all honesty , I'm feeling good about this town.
There was much more going on there and several other places along the way to the outer Banks, just like countless other towns all over the country it was bypassed by the highway. Now so many that may have stopped in Creswell just zoom by at 70-80mph never even noticing this amazing little place. My Grandfather lived just outside town, and a Great Aunt of mine who shared my birthday lived right there on main Street just behind where the video began. Where did the time go..
