Poirier isn't the best striker in history he was slept by michael johnson and also its MMA and he's late 30s so it doesn't matter, and Charles Oliviera has been submitted by Jim Miller, Lamas, and Anthony Pettis, and in every title fight was dropped and almost finished, one of the most overrated fighters ever and has no wrestling.

There’s no point saying a fighter’s striking would be better if it’s not for the takedown threat of his opponent.
Similarly, it’s a moot point to say a grappler would do better if his opponent is not allowed to strike.
The point is they’re meant to get mixed; and any discussion about them should be done while bearing in mind that they are mixed.
