Over half his fights are finishes. But I guarantee you no one that complains about Islam even thinks about Strickland. They’ve both had boring fights and exciting fights. Islams fight was boring, Sustin made it not until the finish. And the Strickland fight was boring because neither would engage. To each their own.
I find Strickland wrestling pretty entertaining. Just like Dustin’s, their doing anti-wrestling to get back up make the fight more exciting. That’s what made the Islam fight interesting. There was no ground work in the other which was certainly boring as neither wanted to engage

Im a Dagestani super fan! That was the best outing vs a Dagestan sambo base I’ve seen since Al Iaquinta vs Khabib. Dustin did way better on ground than anyone. Islam pieced him up! My suggestion, Islam has 2 main fighters in his division: Arman & Gaethji. Other potential fighters we can consider are: Illia, Holloway, (i dont want to mention but here is it) Conor and Chandler. It can planned out like this: - Islam should fight 1 of these fighters in his division: Arman/Gaethji If UFC wants, they can go for Arman VS Gaethji and the winner can fight Islam. (In meantime, Islam can recover from this fight) - Also, in meantime, Belal vs Leon would take place. If leon wins, then Islam has the opportunity to move to that division (after 1 more title defense fight in his division). But if Belal wins, then i really don't know. Islam & belal wouldn't fight. It is possible that Belal can defend his title 1-2 times and move up, while Islam fights 1-2 guys in his division. --- For Dustin, there are 3 options: 1. Retire (I personally want him to, let people remember him by this last performance against Islam) 2. Fight Volk 3. Fight Gaethji (it is 1-1 now, lets settle this). 4. Fight Max (for BMF title again)

You've got a lightweight division in the UFC with names like Porier and Gaethje that have gone back down and taken on the next up and comers beat them stunningly but there's a guy at the top that they can't hardly touch. It says the lightweight division is locked up pretty much already and it's a problem. Who is Islam going to fight? Now that was a heck of a fight. Dustin was fighting as a man possessed like he knew this was the last shot. He forced Islam to dig down deep so I'm a little on the fence but before long it just seems Islam is going to need to test those 170lb waters. I've always thought it would be a shame if Islam left the division without fighting Porier and Gaethje. I want to see that fight. I never thought either would win. I always thought they could win but I wanted to see it. And we've got this new kid to the division we can't forget named Holloway. Not sure if Islam feels a strong need to fight him but why not put that name on the resume. But Islam can't stay too long if he's going up. He needs to start acclimating to that size and the Dagestanis don't do things in a foolish or impulsive way. He will probably go up in a way that gives him time to come up to the weight naturally.

No, it doesn't hold weight. Tsarukyan more than proved he's Islams only real threat. When Islam beat him, that was Tsarukyan's debut years ago, and he gave Islam a Hell of a fight. He's the right next move if Islam wants to cast any real doubt. Not to take away from Dustin, since he's clearly a phenomenal fighter, but if Dustin did this well, imagine what an insane wresteler with decent striking could do after years of clear improvement and that hunger to win.

I definitely want to see Islam fighting for the 170 lbs belt, but not before he rematch Arman. Arman deserves the chance, he barely loss his ufc debut vs Islam, already defeat Oliveira, and said he knows how to beat Islam after a full training camp. I don't know if he can win or not, but he deserves the chance.
You've got a lightweight division in the UFC with names like Porier and Gaethje that have gone back down and taken on the next up and comers beat them stunningly but there's a guy at the top that they can't hardly touch. It says the lightweight division is locked up pretty much already and it's a problem. Who is Islam going to fight? Now that was a heck of a fight. Dustin was fighting as a man possessed like he knew this was the last shot. He forced Islam to dig down deep so I'm a little on the fence but before long it just seems Islam is going to need to test those 170lb waters. I've always thought it would be a shame if Islam left the division without fighting Porier and Gaethje. I want to see that fight. I never thought either would win. I always thought they could win but I wanted to see it. And we've got this new kid to the division we can't forget named Holloway. Not sure if Islam feels a strong need to fight him but why not put that name on the resume. But Islam can't stay too long if he's going up. He needs to start acclimating to that size and the Dagestanis don't do things in a foolish or impulsive way. He will probably go up in a way that gives him time to come up to the weight naturally.
Tsarukyan, Gamrot and maybe Gaethje. Other than these, there's nobody to give Makhachev a proper fight (on paper, at least...).

No, it doesn't hold weight. Tsarukyan more than proved he's Islams only real threat. When Islam beat him, that was Tsarukyan's debut years ago, and he gave Islam a Hell of a fight. He's the right next move if Islam wants to cast any real doubt. Not to take away from Dustin, since he's clearly a phenomenal fighter, but if Dustin did this well, imagine what an insane wresteler with decent striking could do after years of clear improvement and that hunger to win.

Nothing against DP and his performance, I think he looked at his best…I think the opposite about Islam. He didn’t look good at all, as in he literally looked unwell. During the weigh ins is pretty common, but even in the walk outs, he looked legit sick. I don’t think Islam was 100%
