Madonna never performs her song the same each time. Each performances for her needs to be artistically different and challenging each time. And btw Like A Virgin initially was ballad. This performance was true to the bpm of the original ballad version speed and yes its speeds up slowly to a crescendo like an Orgasm.. you get it..and yes its Egyptian inspired. I love watching you guys. as a Madonna fan since 84 I can truly see you two really engaged in her art.. its cool.

I totally agree, i've seen a few of their videos on Madonna and it's great seeing how the "younger" generation appreciate her talent. I been a fan since the start as well. Only reason why so many younger generations miss out on hearing Madonna is because radio stations don't play her and think younger generations won't listen. But these 2 and others who do the say just seem amazed when they hear Madonna songs.

Out of her massive catalogue of hits, Like A Virgin is the one that has seen the most transformations over the years. She most always gives the older hits completely new arrangements. She does the same with choreography. She never recycles her choreography. She always works hard at creating something completely new and fresh. She’s isn’t a lazy performer like most. And thank God for that. 😂
And this is why no one can touch her as a performer.
You guys remember this song from the VMA's performance, featuring Britney, Christina and Missy Elliot (that one with the giant cake, Madonna dressed like a groom)... the opening song was Like A Virgin. This Blond Ambition Tour performance, as the tour itself, received a lot of hate from the catholic church and the Pope itself. This song opens a whole segment on the show with a lot of religious symbols. The show tells us about a journey, from the dark to the light, as she explained later. But the religious/conservative people didn't get it... The tour was even condemned on Vatican, and one of the shows had to be canceled. In Toronto, the police said they would arrest Madonna if she did the masturbation scene on stage...

Great reaction guys. Madonna almost always changes up her songs during live performances because first of all, it is a part of her form of artistry and also because she can become bored with her own songs. So she makes them different so she doesn't go nuts performing them identical to the albums and sometimes she'll also mix up the setlist in a tour to spice it up. Although that aspect seemed to come later in her career. Don't worry too much about breaking your brains trying to read into what she is trying to say in her symbolism. Sometimes it's obvious, sometimes it's not and sometimes there is not a huge multi-layered meaning. Her fans will let you know I'm sure. Keep up the great work and I am looking forward to next week's Madonna reaction. Take care.
First reaction I see from you two! The final "God" at the end of this performance, placed like an orgasm, is the first lyric of the next track, "Like a Prayer". There is a story from here throught the next songs on this segment of the setlist, "Live to Tell", "Oh Father" and "Papa don´t Preach". From this 90's tour, she used to build really theatrical performances, giving new meanings to her songs by placing in story-like segments.
It was just a slower version and at the end it sped up when she started playing with herself. The performance was right before like a prayer. Ha

I highly recommend her performance of Live to Tell from her Confessions Tour in 2005. It was a controversial performance but as it unfolds from it's initial shocking opening, you realize what her message is with it and it becomes one of the most stunningly beautiful, emotional, and goosebump inducing performances of her career.

Peak Madonna power. She's on one of her iconic tours, singing an "oldie" that she remade into a statement of female sexuality and liberation and empowerment. It's easy to just see this as crass. But there is something delicate about her and she's really expressing what she wants and needs....all of it! 😉☺

You guys are great! I'm a hardcore Madonna fan since I was about 5 years old in 1985 (and I consider myself to be her #1 fan). This performance of Like A Virgin is just a different interpretation of the song, and this was the first time she changed the style of it. She always changes her songs with each of her tours so she doesn't get bored with performing them the same way all the time. A true artist, icon and the greatest/biggest female pop star of all time. I enjoy watching your reactions to this rendition of Like a Virgin from her Blond Ambition Tour 1990. I saw the concert live in 1990. I was 16 yrs old then. It was truly a very controversial concert, it’s caused problems and scandal all over. She almost got arrested in Toronto for lewd bahvior for this performance . The Vatican tried banning her show . This concert was very provocative for the time. Of all her convert tours this was her greatest. I’ve been a fan since 1983 and her I am today 48 yrs old, I’ve seen her live about 25 times. To this day Blond Ambition tour still stands as my favorite. I recommend watching. Madonna Truth or Dare, which is a concert documentary of this tour . The problems they faced where ever this tour went.

One of the reasons Madonna is called the queen of reinvention is because on all her tours she does new versions of her most iconic songs...every tour she's done Like a Virgin on it's been a different version.. this was one of my favorites.. this and the MDNA tour version and Rebel Heart tour are my favorites...the Rebel heart tour version was remixed by a guy I have known for a long time and follow on soundcloud

Blonde Ambition was Madonna's 3rd tour. HUGE! First concert tour to begin to incorporate elements of broadway and stage. Which soon after all other pop artists began doing. What Madonna did for Pop music seems to be forgotten in time in 2021.
She changed tours for ever no artist has ever managed to compare to this tour it was a huge thing when this happened The pope asked to meet her to discuss the tour in true Madonna fashion she said if you want to see me buy a ticket like everybody else 😂. After performing this in ROME back in 1990 Madonna was (once again) excommunicated by the POPE that didn't want her to perform the show there. In the end she says "GOD" because after this song she performed "Like a Prayer" with a religious theme on stage.

She was almost arrested in Toronto for this performance. The police came before the show and threatened to arrest her if she didn’t cut this from her show, which she of course refused to do.
The movement she and the dancers are doing a a form of Vogue-ing. Madonna made that dance popular in the late 90's. It started in the black gay clubs in the 70's.
If you haven't seen "Truth or Dare" the documentary about the Blonde Ambition Tour. In one arena in the states they were going to have her arrested if she performed this. They called it pornography. You guys should check out that film.
