With Kornet, Hauser and Pritchard getting more minutes this year, when they are on the floor, this team is just to slow for the faster teams in the league and this is one of the main reasons the Celtics are having defensive issues. It is easy to target these players, and when the Celtics are not making their shots, it is easier to beat them. This year, Hauser has not been playing very well, and has become more of a negative than a positive since he cannot score.....
the paint defense sucks this year....our bigs are just plain soft and get outrebounded most nights.they should be the last line of defense but other teams have noticed they can drive to the basket effortlessly

Did anybody actually believe we were going to go 2 straight seasons without a blip? The overreactions are insane! The rotation has changed injuries have hit us and these players have had things happen in their lives and this is the effort and results. Most teams would dream of having our defense and offense on a bad day because it's still above league average most times.
Repeating a championship is very hard to do. Celtics have no repeated a championship since bill Russell. Giving up points in the paint has been a problem all year. Things need to change if the want another title this year.

This effort by The C's is not just on the players but on Mazzulla's coaching. I'm a baby-boomer and this is definitely NOT Celtics Pride. This is what I believe, falling back into the old fashion way did not get back at all. They’re taking way too many threes. You can take less three and take the ball to the hole and get back to like I said we’re not doing that we fall back to 2022 team again, which is too much 101 the ball is not moving as it should I know we had a hurt a little bit. I honestly don’t understand why they just keep shooting 3’s if they aren’t falling. I watched a few mins of the first quarter and then turned it off whereas the Pacers were getting into the paint. Is there no other game plan when the 3’s aren’t falling?
It's lazy basketball. I watched the first few minutes of the game while they chucked up too many 3's and playing zero defense. I knew then the C's would lose the game. They need to stop coasting and start playing. I've been to a few games this year and don't want to spend a lot of money watching a disinterested team. Inexcusable.

I’m generally not worried because I’ve seen glimpses of what this team can do. A reminder to all Celtic fans, Holiday and KP have not played the past few games. If I’m concerned at anything it would be the question of how much our defence and then offence is dependent on KP. Al did an amazing job until the finals but to be fair we had more than enough ammunition and momentum to stampede over the mavs. So far, the play style I can see is reminiscent of the days we had healthy Rob Williams and when we didn’t have Rob Williams. Mind you, Rob didn’t stretch the floor but he did provide rim protection. Which leads me to say that without an anchoring centre defensively (Al is amazing but his age is now starting to show) our offence can stagnate. Again, if I’m worried about anything - it would be that without a centre like KP our team falls short. I would hate to believe that the jays alone wouldn’t be able to lead us to the promised land; but considering how they played the past few games it’s leading me to believe that they will always require a stretch centre. Look, I may be wrong. But the KP on vs off minutes are very different
Silver linings: no double digit loss. They were in this game til the late 4th quarter mistakes. This year aint like last year. Gonna be more of a struggle. Let's see how the West Conference road trip goes. Maybe that gets this team back on track.

Like you've said in the past, John, this is a job for them & people slack at work sometimes. So here's my unimportant opinion, embrace load management. It isn't going away. So allow teams to be able to schedule built-in days off. That way, the fans can pick & choose the games that they go to around the players they want to see. The league chose to have a soft stance on the issue, and it's only gotten worse. Either you crack down or adapt to it.
Now they are 5 and 5 in the last 10 games. Man, I'll tell u that I'm not super concerned, but i am a little annoyed. I still feel like we are the best team in the NBA and still should be considered the favorite to win it all still.

Joe and this Team deliver banner 18, and that's done it time to focus on banner 19. We have aging and injury, quality depth issue. Brad is the phone trying to bring in help. No Team in this league win consistently when 1,2 starters is missing. I agree there is also some Chip,Olympics and Complacency involved also.
I don't mind them shooting all the threes but it'd be nice if they would start by going to the hole and making those threes more open instead of never moving the ball especially to start games
I think they're just a little burned out right now. Three of our starters really didn't get much time off from basketball over the summer on the olympic team and we had a long finals run. They can't make themselves play lockdown defense at the moment. When the games mean something (playoffs or our record is seriously slipping) they will probably step it back up.
Hey trying to get starter minutes out of Hauser. I like Hauser in rotational role. He come off bench hitting shot and really extend the leads. Not a great defender. Al age really beginning to show. No fault of his,he been a warrior.. Can't ask those kind of minutes out him tho. Nobody guards him Luke or Queta when they on the floor. So the Jay's are basic being double,Teams skip a rotation when ball is moving to them. People let's face it, Celts depth is not good enough to beat quality Teams with 2 starters out on a consistent basis. Brad no it and that's why he constantly trying to upgrade the bench.

Can’t lie it felt like in the first half JB and Pritchard were carrying, and the second half it was Tatum at the beginning of the 4th. First game vs Indy we were playing so selfless and the ball movement was immense, I thought we did an ok job moving the ball last night but when you miss wide open shots (specifically on Al) you’re not gonna win, especially when we’re not keeping ourselves in the game on defense.
Seems like either they're tuning out Joe and he gives him way too many passes every game with his little mind games he likes to play with the Press he's basically saying that they can't do no wrong, and if you watch them play they're doing a lot of wrong
why would the players tune out Joe that's stupid you don't know what is being said in the locker room at practice and film sessions they keep it private from the media they want them up in their business.

On offense they no longer Drive the ball to the hole and kick out pass pass pass shoot, now they come down and either go one-on-one and take a step back three or they come down one pass and shoot a three. They are no longer following the game plans, and he's the one who gives them the game plan so either they've decided not to listen to him anymore or they are just a 500 team now. which is it?

The Pacers came out and shot five for five to start the game in the paint, the Celtics came out and shot 0 for 6 from 3 to start the game.
People forget the pacers were number 1 in the nba offensively all year .. the team hasnt changed, peoples perception has!
