Yes, Northeast India is indeed underrated. It is a great place to visit, and has a relaxing atmosphere in the lap of nature, with peace and quiet. However, staying away from the tourist traps is still recommended. Also, the spice of Northeast is a totally different thing altogether, as most northeastern cuisines use fresh chilies in place of powdered spices, which gives a really good bite in the flavor. One tip. Whenever you take trains to move from one city to another in India, please do book 2nd A.C class.. Please dont book 3rd class a.c as it is not meant for foreigners to travel and it is for those who are on a stronger budget but cannot travel without a.c. Also, you have foreigners quota available for booking train tickets. - Madhu, Chennai
@@GrowingUpWithoutBorders please do know if you are planning to visit Chennai. Good for 2 or 3 day trip here. More good places are outside city inside Tamilnadu.
it's suach a great thing as an Indian that you are visiting India! I would like to say one thing though, the outskirts are friendly and are good and really safe. Once you go to the city areas or on of the popular places you have to be alert all the time. Although nowadays nothing bad happens even you go to crouded places but still I'm concerned as you are an "all girls group". Lastly I hope that you have a great time in India!
8:30 You guys did a good thing taking the SIM card direct from the Airport itself. Outside, in conventional SIM shops, security reasons make the process a lot difficult for foreigners, with a lot of red tapism and requirements. Also, with the new e-Visa, tourist visas have become a lot more simplified, compared to a few years ago, without e-Visas. This was to boost tourism, which was going down due to all the red-tapism from traditional visa procedures.
October to March is the best time to travel in India but for the same time in north India be ready for cold weather maybe extreme cold also 🙂 between December to February
May god bless you with a happy journey and hopefully you successfully complete your goal of exploring every country. Lovely to see you all enjoying beautiful part of India. I live in uk now but originally from Bangalore, I used finger to brush my teeth with charcoal tooth powder. Everyone in the house used it ..till I was 12 yrs old when I started using a brush with tooth powder Many in india use tender branches of plants sticks chew the end and make it like a tooth brush. These sticks are sold in bundles in the rural shops, tooth brush is still not accessible to each and everyone in the world
That’s so interesting. What I find amazing is that only now are we starting to see charcoal in supermarket tooth pastes now and in India it’s been used for years.

50 years back most of the south State we used finger to clean the teath with ash of paddy skin or aurvedic power. Now some villages people still continue this habit. Now as per medical advice it is good to prevent some teath problem such as blood bleeding from Gum ....
Nice to listen about your visit to our place. You have seen a girl is brushing with her finger. It’s a way of traditionally cleaning the tooth first in the morning. We use a mix of powder made of crystal salt, crushed pepper and rice shell charcoal. The process also good for healthy gum, bright and white shining teath without any chloride bleach or chemical.
12:10 it's common practice in Kerala to use fingers to brush teeth. Especially for children. This will strengthen their gems and also gives keeps the teeths in shape/ line(i don't know how to say this).

Visit the mountainous states of Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, etc to experience the cold weather of the north. 12:10 brushs are very cheap in india. Fingers are used by children's to press down the teeth so they don't get buck teeth. Dentists also reccomend to do this way to children's to avoid getting buck teeth.
@Growing up Without Borders Teeth cleaning with charcoal made from rice husk is common as they were the traditional way of cleaning. Carbon in charcoal absorbs plaque in teeth. So mostly I assume the people whom you saw are using umikari(charcoal from rice husk) for cleaning.
In kerala urban villages activated carbon powder or grainy white tooth powder is dipped inti by moist forefinger and teeth are rubbed and cleaned and best of all the gums are massaged without doing no harm. They gleam at the end of It. I am a city dweller from childhood but one in a while use this method and it thoroughly cleans, believe me. Tooth brushes need tooth paste and may not be economical when you have native alternatives.Back to nature is what everyone is striving for, so why give up good organic procedures. *the pyaru in the bakery is mung dal that the western world knows now. Green because its skin is green. Video was fast and a promotional one
(at 12:00 min)its not like people in there cannot afford a toothbrush but some people prefer that way with locally made charcoal of paddy cover for cleaning teeth.

She mentioned in the video what she saw and also mentioned that maybe they don't have enough toothbrushes and was thinking to buy toothbrush and gift her in a good way but she totally misunderstood India it by just looking at one incident clearly she doesn't know anything about India, i just wanted to clarify it, i don't want to sound rude if my words affected anyones feeling then I'm sorry it was not my intention, i just want foreigners not to judge India as whole, explore India by yourself forget what you heard from BCC CNN and other channels because they are hypocrites. 👍🏻
@18:15 what???? It's actually freezing cold in the Northern India ryt now.
Love from karanataka 💛❤️ one state many world 🌍
Thank you! ❤️
#12:15 Some traditional people in Kerala villages they use umikari powder (activated charcoal) to brush their teeth. They use their finger to apply it on teeth. They clean their tongue with a coconut stick. Majority of the people use a brush, tongue cleaner and Colgate toothpaste to brush their teeth.
I've been to Kochi and love the area. Glad you could visit. I recognized the airport. I would go back more to visit my husbands family if flights were not expensive from US. We like Fort Cochi with a unique Jewish synagogue, Lulu Mall, a road that sells spice in town, dress and jewelry shops in town. We celebrate Christmas there and love to see the decorations in many homes paper Christmas star lanterns hanging everywhere. Our condo had caroling and sweets for the carolers at each home. It is a beautiful time to visit. If you can tag along with someone to a wedding it is a unique and beautiful experience too.
Adipoli.. 3 hours 45 mins on road from Pollachi to Kochi
I personally recommend visit jatayu statue in kerela the biggest eagle statue in world
Welcome to India. Please consider visiting Himachal and uttrakhand also
Really enjoyed your video! You have a great family and great kids. You must be really proud! I am watching from Kerala. Outskirts of Kochi, in fact. I'll be following your amazing journey through my native place! Best Wishes and Regards!!!
We mostly did shuttles and we did a sleeper bus but it was for a shorter distance. That was a fun experience.
@@GrowingUpWithoutBorders please do know if you are planning to visit Chennai. Good for 2 or 3 day trip here. More good places are outside city inside Tamilnadu.
You can visit lots of beautiful, historical, traditional places in India..
visit ladakh, shimla, dharamshalla, sikkim, tawang

it's suach a great thing as an Indian that you are visiting India!
My country india is just different from everything else you have seen till now or will see in the future . Hopefully you get some good memories and this trip becomes one close to your heart
It’s so true. We had so many first time experiences in India and had such a great time exploring all the different areas.
Welcome to India guys. Hope you have a wonderful experience to take back home ;-)
Lovely to see you all enjoying beautiful part of India. I live in uk now but originally from Bangalore, I used finger to brush my teeth with charcoal tooth powder. Everyone in the house used it ..till I was 12 yrs old when I started using a brush with tooth powder
Many in india use tender branches of plants sticks chew the end and make it like a tooth brush. These sticks are sold in bundles in the rural shops, tooth brush is still not accessible to each and everyone in the world
That’s so interesting. What I find amazing is that only now are we starting to see charcoal in supermarket tooth pastes now and in India it’s been used for years.
Love from Kerala ❤️❤️
There is no crocs you will find Indian Rivers , excluding forest 17:47.
Welcome to India 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳

Thanks so much!! 🙏🏻💕
50 years back most of the south State we used finger to clean the teath with ash of paddy skin or aurvedic power.
Now some villages people still continue this habit. Now as per medical advice it is good to prevent some teath problem such as blood bleeding from Gum ....
Welcome Kerala ❤️❤️
Thanks! ❤
Please visit DARJEELING and SIKKIM two most beautiful places of INDIA.
Thats my fav breakfast, thanks for uploading haha
It was delicious!!😋 Glad you enjoyed the video!
Welcome to Kerala 🌴🥰 India 🇮🇳💞
Thanks! ❤️
12:10 it's common practice in Kerala to use fingers to brush teeth. Especially for children. This will strengthen their gems and also gives keeps the teeths in shape/ line(i don't know how to say this).
Welcome to Kerala ✨❤️
Thanks! ❤️
@@GrowingUpWithoutBorders North India is going to be cooler because the winter is coming. Visit the mountainous states of Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, etc to experience the cold weather of the north. They’ll probably experience snow in December or January.
Cities of south are better more laid back (Not all), northern cities are more chaotic but the real beauty of India is in its towns and villages. Southern parts also have many beautiful hill stations to offer but to experience snow in India you'll need to visit the states I mentioned above.
Welcome and happy trip 🙏
Welcome to India.. hope you guys have an amazing time here. Just some advice, northern India is way more cooler then the south as its closer to the mountains and himalayas and it can get freezing in some areas.. Southern India is closer to the equater and is thus hotter then the north. Since you guys are visiting in winter its a bit cooler now but if you do plan to visit northern India ensure that u guys have some warm clothes... Anyways, I hope you lot have have an amazing time travelling through this beautiful country.. Cheeers!
I flow to India from USA 3 months ago and had no problem. Landed in New Delhi Airport ... Off the plane and out the door in less then 35 minutes ..

using finger is good for gums ... we use charcoal and salt and clean our teeth with fingers and neem tree stem as brush
Welcome to India🇮🇳🇮🇳 but please correct the Indian map , Jammu and Kashmir is integral part of India.
its really common in india to brush with hands
sometimes u will see people brushing with tree bark , it dosnt give any reference about poor or rich. i do good but sometimes i do like to brush with fingers its just ok , kinda culture thing because we didnt had brush b4 so hands or neem tree bark
When you say your first impression in India is that it is so quiet like there is no one here, it made me laugh. It is India. just wait.......it is night....let there be light and you will see. Welcome to India. Have a nice trip in India.
12:13 In many Indian villages you will see people using their fingers to brush and they usually use a powder than a paste or you might also see people brushing from neem stem.. it's not that they can't buy a toothbrush but it's more over a traditional thing..
U should also visit Rajasthan state in India.. There are few attractions like camal ride, old royal forts, food, etc.

12:10 brushs are very cheap in india. Fingers are used by children's to press down the teeth so they don't get buck teeth. Dentists also reccomend to do this way to children's to avoid getting buck teeth.
I suggest u one think please visit at onece in north east India like himachal , utharakand Assam skkim meghalay etc I dam sure u love nature beauty
Welcome to India have a good journey.....
@Growing up Without Borders
Teeth cleaning with charcoal made from rice husk is common as they were the traditional way of cleaning.
