      @@MattysWorkshop Yeh I can fully understand that. I edited my Harrison mill electricals vids as one flow and then split into two parts. Must have taken 5 hours at least. I often find I spend more, or at least as much, time levelling and trimming the audio as I do on the visuals. I try to remember to keep my head facing the same way when I'm speaking to cut down the audio editing. Viewers don't always realise there is a lot more to this lark than just messing with machines. The video was fine don't be so hard on yourself. only tip I have is when you're working with thicker material 1/4 and up on anything structural or that will see a lot of load/force etc beveling your material with a couple more passes will give you a lot more strength. especially if you don't have a machine where you can crank up the heat. I usually bevel anything that's not cosmetic which will see a load / force etc over3/16 - 1/4 and above depending on what machine I'm using to get as much penetration as possible 👍👍👍

    She is coming along nicely Matty. A few questions.
    What speeds do you run when cleaning up the welds in the lathe? I try not to run mine too fast, but I find it is really hard to cut the welds even with a carbide insert.
    I presume you are like me and use the stick welder for heavy gauge material, and use the MIG for the smaller gauges? My MIG is set with 0.9mm wire so even though it is 200A, it is not good for heavy gage metal and I use the stick welder for those jobs.

    • @MattysWorkshop
      @MattysWorkshop  Год назад +1

      Gday, When I cleaned up the welds I was running around 600rpm which worked ok, you just have to be careful of the interrupted cuts, as for the welding I prefer to stick weld things that need as much strength as possible, I just the mig to tack everything in place, I also use the tig for jobs that need nice looking welds that are smaller compared to mig and stick, Tig is something id really like to get better at, Thanks for watching mate, Cheers

    I don't know what you're talking about, Matty. There was nothing lacking in the editing. It's an interesting project and you are doing a great job. That said, there is a spare 5 minutes dead time at the end, but you could probably crop that in the youtube editor. Just an idea. Hope you can get your arm sorted out. All the best, Mart in England.

    Matty, that’s coming along very nicely❤. I love the design as you go, use what you have at hand ethos. It will certainly be a beast.
    I feel for you with the heat, and the spider bite. I had a whitetail bite once, it took six months to fully close up, but it can still flare up if I get rundown or sick. Does nothing for your mental alertness either.
    As an aside, what is the really thick cutting oil you have in your tin? I want to get some.

    • @MattysWorkshop
      @MattysWorkshop  Год назад +1

      Gday Peter, the oil I use is Bordo cutting/taping fluid, we are having trouble getting the bit to heal still and certainly going to be a drawn out process, still fairly sore to, thanks for watching mate, cheers
